The best way to get the root or meat and cheese of the matter is to get down on this 16-acre pizza farm yourself. To get there, drive through serpentine country back roads and "a steady cloud of dust that leads back to a field filled with pickup trucks." Park behind the main buildings where rows of tomato, mozzarella, and pepperoni plants grow. Save time by sending some of your crew to scout for a prime picnic spot while you queue up in the ordering line. Expect a long wait, but hay, it's worth it! You'll be happy as a pig in the mud sinking your teeth into a tasty, wood-fired, farm-fresh pizza. We ordered the following (ingredients in pics): PESTO: Basically an apprentice Vampire Slayer. Killer pizza, but not strong enough to destroy Jemaine Clement's Vladislav. HALEY'S COMET: Fungus is not for me. THAI CHICKEN: Popularithai contest winner! It could use extra cilantro as that was overpowered by the sweet chili peanut sauce. VAMPIRE SLAYER (previous visit): Unearthly amounts of garlic will give your inner Buffy raging vampire-slayah superpowers! Hi-yah! But there's more on this farm than meets the sty besides pizza! Hang out by the campfire, enjoy live music, or visit with the resident chickens, cows, pigs and goats. You'll be living high on the hog, enjoying it all on a Suncrest pizza night until the cows come home. Best pizza, barn none. Finally! Stopped in early Friday night to my 384th brewery w friends who are local. I mean I knew…read moreit was also a B&B but.... when you pull up?.... fer cute!! A few little yard arts, chairs, and plants...very welcoming! The B&B is on the left and the tap room is on the right, the garage, where the covered patio is. Co-owner Brenda was behind the bar. They had a good tap list, not overwhelming but enough to quench any palate. There was also a good list of guest taps, all Inbound. When Brenda mentioned she could pour me an "air" I responded... oh Lucid Air! That's one I hadn't heard in a minute! The tap room is very cozy and w Brenda also being a travel agent there is travel destination suggestions on the tap list. Mid visit the Brewer/co-owner, Ford came behind the bar. There was a decent selection of vinyl....not sure if they have a record player or it's just fun "decoration"? My friend gave me the explanation of the names on the shelving behind her. Again....fer cute!! I won't divulge it, go on & ask for yourself, I think it'd be funner hearing it in person from an owner! One friend opted for an Inbound beer. After having Brenda pour me a taste of Chubby Chipmonk Pale Wheat, which was good but better than a standard wheat beer since it's a Pale Wheat, so if you're looking for a muted beer, this isn't it, so go on and taste it. I asked my other friend f I could have a sip of his Bicycle Brown? There it is....that's what my palate is looking for! I opted for a pint of Bicycle Brown Ale... it hit the mark....as I still had a couple hour drive in front of me to the cities. Thanks Hoppy Girl for the delicious beer in such a comfortable & welcoming environment served up by a couple of pretty wonderful owners, cheers!

I cannot speak enough of how kind and warm the owner was. She went above and beyond for us and even walked us to our car with umbrellas in the pouring rain. As far as beer, our favorites were the strawberry lemon shandy for a nice fruity summer beer and the Citra/Mosaic IPA. Delicious! We come to Lake Pepin every year and we will definitely be back!

Our family spent a few days in the Stockholm area and stayed at a wonderful Airbnb. One evening, we…read moredecided to go out for dinner and chose The Stone Barn in Nelson. It was about a 35-minute drive from where we were staying, and it was absolutely worth it. When we arrived, the parking lot was quite full, so we assumed we'd be waiting forever. That wasn't the case at all. We placed our order pretty quickly. The pizzas took about 45 minutes, but no one minded because there was plenty to do while we waited. The weather was beautiful, and we found a spot outside. A folksy musician was playing live music, people were enjoying the evening, and kids were running around everywhere - but in a good way. It's just that kind of place. Our grandkids loved feeding the goats and exploring, and there's also a nice little gift shop to visit. To make the evening even more memorable, someone had arrived in a small helicopter and later took off while we were there. Our group was large - 20 people altogether, including 14 adults and six grandchildren under four. We ordered five pizzas, which turned out to be just about the perfect amount. We ordered the Thai, the Supreme, and the Margherita. Additionally, we chose to build our own pepperoni and mushroom, and a plain pepperoni - appealing to the younger crowd. The pizzas were large, thin-crust, cut into squares, and absolutely delicious. Every one was a hit - not a single pizza disappointed. The whole experience was simply fun. The staff behind the registers and everyone else we interacted with were friendly. The old barn and other buildings are unique, and the farm setting and surrounding countryside are beautiful. I'm so glad we decided to make the drive. This isn't just a place to grab a pizza - it's a place to spend an evening and enjoy yourself. I'd go back, and go back, and go back. If you're anywhere near the area, The Stone Barn is must visit.
