What a wonderful spot in Porto! After a full day of exploring the city and walking all the hills we were in desperate need of sustenance. I've stated this in other reviews, but, Portugal is a vegan and vegetarian paradise!
Kind Kitchen is a fully vegan restaurant that offers up various bowls, plates and specials as well some cocktails and juices, teas.
The space is small and quaint, but welcoming and warm. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and we were able to be seated right away. We were *starving* since we hadn't eaten since the very early morning, We ordered their potato wedges and also some chip and guac to munch on while we awaited our entrees.
I ordered their thai bowl which had tofu, edamame, quinoa, mango slices and other vegetables. So healthy and filling My husband tried a true Portuguese item - the Francesinha which originated in Porto but it was made vegan. It's a sandwich with vegan ham covered with melted cheese and then put in a tomato sauce that has some beer. It's very odd and doesn't sound good, but it was so good! I was surprised. And I'm glad we were able to try something that's original to the country but made vegan!
Kind Kitchen is fantastic and I hope others can enjoy it too. Would recommend! read more
