I'm sharing my personal experience with this daycare so other parents can make an informed…read moredecision. We enrolled under what was clearly labeled a 10-month contract. I was informed at the time that this type of contract is typically offered to teachers; however, the director offered it to us as a courtesy when we were preparing to leave, due to the school's 12-month schedule and lack of a guaranteed September spot if a child is withdrawn for July and August. I was clear with the director that I am not a teacher, and the contract was still offered and signed. Based on vocal and written communication, my understanding was that this agreement allowed my child to be out for July and August while maintaining her enrollment for September. Recently, we were unexpectedly asked to confirm our intentions for the next school year. When I referenced the 10-month contract, I was told someone would follow up with me, which did not happen. I then emailed for clarification. The owner responded by stating that I had misunderstood the agreement, despite the contract and email I had in writing from her outlining what the 10 month contract is. When I said I would need to consult a lawyer if the agreement was not honored, I was told the owner does not deal with "litigious people," and my child was removed from the program in the middle of the school day. Separately, my child reported being hit by another student on multiple occasions. When these concerns were brought to the owner, I was told that my child was lying. There was also an incident where staff commented negatively on my child's lunch, telling her that yogurt was unhealthy, which I found inappropriate. This review reflects my direct experience only. I encourage parents to ask detailed questions, get all agreements in writing, and carefully consider how concerns and disputes are handled before enrolling.

If you ever leave instructions regarding anything whether it's health or restrictions, they listen and follow everything you provide. I would highly recommend this childcare facility.

The only reason we stopped going is because my travel schedule picked up at work so a full time nanny made more sense. I credit TLE for helping my son develop and learn as quickly as he did. During our initial tour, we were told they taught the kids sign language. I was skeptical, but was proven wrong when at 6 months he was signing "more" and "eat" to communicate his needs. I will also be forever grateful for Miss Pam, the teacher in the infant room that helped me get the hang of being a first time working mom. I remember seeing my son roll for the first time and was so excited about it. When I asked Miss Pam how long he'd been doing it, she told me "the first time he does it is when you see it." They do a great job of arranging fun events for the kids; coming up with all sorts of themes and art projects to keep them engaged. They even have an annual petting zoo and water games in the summer. My son loved it there and still remembers all his teachers that took great care of him and his friends that he grew up with. We definitely miss it there and I highly recommend TLE to anyone that is considering them for childcare. The curriculum and environment are top notch and the teachers and the administrative staff truly care not just about the children but for the parents as well.

wish I didn't have to even give a 1 star rating to this place. I have been to a few daycares over…read morethe years and this is by far the WORST AND FILTHIEST! I originally was going to TLE in Waldwick (which is wonderful by the way) but decided to transfer to Ramsey since it was closer to my new home. This daycare was much older looking than the one in Waldwick but I assumed it was clean and my son was being cared for which is all that really mattered to me. Well from day 1 my son came home filthy, white socks were BLACK, food stuck to his clothes, hair and face everyday. I let it go for a week because I didn't want to seem "annoying" which I had every right to be but I figured I'd let it slide temporarily. Until week 2 when he came home with full blown pink eye! Green junk flowing out of his eyes when I picked him up and no one mentioned a thing to me! When I mentioned it, no one had noticed anything wrong with him apparently. My son has had pink eye before but never to this extreme, to the point that his eyes were almost sealed shut and it lasted over 2 weeks. I asked the teacher why I was not called and she said she did tell Tara, one of the directors but apparently she FORGOT to call me. So all day long apparently no one realized that a 10 month old with visible pink eye was still in the class and no parent had yet to pick him up? Absolutely unacceptable. I received no apology or acknowledgement from Tara for neglecting to call me. I waited about another week to see if there was any improvement of cleanliness but every single day my son came home looking like he was rolling around in dirt. I pulled him out within 3 weeks of attending this daycare. I complained to Neelam, the other director - she was very understanding and apologized for the negligence. After complaining, I was refunded one week of tuition. Truthfully, I should've fought for the entire month of reimbursement but I just wanted to cut ties immediately. Flash forward about 6 weeks, I finally get a reimbursement check after following up 3 times. I show up at the daycare to pick of the check that was handed to me by Tara, yet again no acknowledgement or apology for my horrible experience. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND!!! If you love and care for your children's well-being, please please please do your research before committing to this daycare. It was by no means cheap but you could never expect to find this in a Ramsey, NJ daycare.

Unfortunately, our experience with management and some aspects of the overall culture left us deeply disappointed. On a Friday afternoon, we picked up our two-year-old and saw she was visibly upset, which was very out of character. She had been with a new teacher we had never seen before. When we asked what had happened, the initial response was vague. We followed up with management, who told us she had been "gently redirected" after spitting. The explanation felt scripted and evasive, and our questions were met with repeated, circular responses. Our gut instinct told us that something just felt off. Eventually, we were invited to view video footage. It had already been queued to the moment our daughter was crying, but we asked to rewind. That's when we saw what really happened: the teacher aggressively pulled her by the arm, and then left her standing there crying by herself. It was painful to watch. Not only was the physical interaction too rough, but the complete lack of empathy or attempt to comfort her was deeply upsetting. The teacher was let go on the spot, which validated our concern, but we only got the truth because we pushed for it. The claim that she had been spitting was not reflected in the video either; she and her peers were making silly sounds, which was totally age-appropriate behavior. What made this harder to accept was the school's constant emphasis on "transparency." We had been told, both during our tour and in written communication, that parents are always notified about staff changes and that the director is consistently on-site. Neither was true in our experience. The director opened a second location and was rarely present, without formally introducing or announcing the person she had placed in charge. When parents, ourselves included, asked for clarity, the response was defensive rather than collaborative. It also felt like a revolving door of new teachers. The lead teachers in each classroom were consistent and wonderful, but there was frequent turnover among support staff, and we were rarely, if ever, introduced to the new faces working with our children. This raised questions about why so many people were coming and going, especially in a setting that promotes stability and trust for young children. As someone who works in early childhood myself, I came in with a trained lens and tried to give the benefit of the doubt. But even before the arm-pulling incident, there were things that gave me pause, particularly the way certain staff members interacted with children. While many teachers were warm and developmentally appropriate, we also witnessed harsh tone, punitive responses, and outdated disciplinary tactics that didn't reflect best practices. After the incident, we asked if they would consider a small tuition credit as a gesture of goodwill. Instead of a thoughtful conversation, we received an email accusing us of "extortion" and were told to direct any future communication through a lawyer. It was a jarring and frankly alarming response, especially coming from a program that emphasizes partnership and trust with families. Our children were happy with some of the teachers and we're grateful for that. But ultimately, we could no longer trust the leadership team or the culture they fostered. If you're considering this program, know that while it may appear polished from the outside, our experience suggests there are serious cracks beneath the surface.

In our experience, the school had a low tolerance for typical childhood behavior, especially in boys. Expectations felt unusually high for the age group, and the environment was more focused on compliance than on developmental growth. Staff were often reactive in handling behavior, which escalated situations instead of helping, and communication around concerns was vague and unhelpful. At times, conversations with staff even felt inappropriate, which made it hard to feel supported. Since moving to a new school, we've seen a huge improvement. The environment is more enriching, communication is clear, and the teachers truly care about helping our child succeed as he continues through the program.
