I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the treatment I received at your facility…read morethis evening. I arrived at approximately 7:30 PM with my elderly cat, who was lethargic and severely ill. Despite being at an emergency clinic, I waited for over two hours while multiple patients who arrived long after me were seen and discharged within thirty minutes for seemingly minor issues, such as a rash. While your receptionist was professional and helpful, the attending veterinarian's behavior was unacceptable. When the receptionist motioned toward me and my sick pet, the veterinarian raised her voice and told the receptionist to give me "other resources" because this was an emergency vet. I am deeply offended that she dismissed my cat's condition without an examination, especially as I only sought emergency care out of fear that my pet would not survive the night. I have a primary veterinarian for my three dogs and cat, but I chose to trust your clinic during a crisis. Given the dismissive and rude treatment I experienced, I will not be returning to your business. I also intend to share my experience through local word-of-mouth and on social media platforms, including Google and Facebook. I hope you take this feedback seriously to ensure other pet owners are not treated with such lack of compassion in the future.

She immediately put us at ease and made sure our dog would be seen and take care of . It was my first encounter with this clinic having just moved from Hawaii and her professionalism and care truly stood out and made me feel at ease. Khan , our family pet, had injured his back and ribs from jumping up and down from high furniture and was in obvious pain. This assessment was from a previous Veterinarian we had taken him 48 hrs earlier. Khan was experiencing alot of pain and shaking so we felt the need to have an emergency followup , possibly x-rays to see if there wasn't a deeper concern. Dr Paul and his team were incredible, they did a full thorough examination, gentle, genuinly concerned for Khan's well being. They examined him carefully, explained everything clearly and treated him with so much compassion. They explained everything clearly so they could assist us to help Khan recover. What was my unexpected take away from this visit was they didn't charge me, Yes, it was a followup of a 48 hr previous Vet care visit, yet that level of integrity and heart is rare to find. WOW! That kind gesture marked this establishment with true business integrity and being trustworthy with your pets that are part of the family. Dr Paul and August made what could have been a more stressful situation to one filled with relief and gratitude. We left this clinic feeling so reassured that his profession is one of helping , not just to treat the animal. Khan is already on the mend because of their exceptional care. The new Dr. really really tries to upsell EVERYTHING. He was very rude bc I didn't buy the flea…read moremedicine from him. I followed up and asked if my dog had fleas. He smartly replied "No! But you may as well go to Vegas with your luck. It is only a matter of time". I said I have been a dog owner my entire life, and I've NEVER had fleas on my dog bc what I do works. My dog has seizures and I limit the amount of chemicals I put in her. We treat our outside environment. Furthermore, he wanted to run additionally in my opinion unnecessary labs (for another upcharge, of course). My dog was not even ill. It was a 6 month well checkup. We will never go back due to the condescending way he spoke to us. It is a shame. Dr. Fountain was the BEST caring vet who truly was motivated by passion for the animals. She cared for our whole fur-family, by providing care specialized to each individual animal, providing a holistic approach, she listened to our specific concerns, especially regarding our senior dogs, not just what kind of labs and tests can we charge for. We never minded paying what she charged bc she truly considered the individual needs of each fur baby. Dr. Fountain was not motivated by only money, which unfortunately feels like the attitude that is evident in the new owner.

That said I have NO personal interest or even contact with Spay Bay so take this as from the heart. ...I have had two dogs and six cats neutered... by this organization with no trouble at all and it is important to remember that it IS an organization operated mostly by volunteers and low paid interns. The Vets though that offer their time are real VETS and could be making far more elsewhere. It is hard to estimate the good they do in keeping the lost and feral populations from breeding more than they do operating on shoestrings. So, checking their Facebook page I see that they have a high "4.7 out of 5 Based on the opinion of 227 people." so not everybody is upset with them like it looks here. If you have and can afford a commercial vet then by all means use them, if like many of us you are doing something for the neighborhood as much as the animal Spay Bay is the place to go. It is up to you.

I took my cat in for a surgery they said she needed, 2 days later she died. Surgery Thursday and she wasn't acting right so I took her back Saturday and passed away that night. AFTER HOURS NUMBER pfff yea ok, THEY NEVER ANSWERED OR EVEN BOTHERED TO RETURN MY CALL!!!!!!! I will never recommend this place just for that reason alone. You will not have help if you need it.

I never felt talked down to or that my pet was not important. Now his front desk staff have their bad days, but I guess that's just part of it. After each visit you'll be given an opportunity to give a review. I love that! It made me feel like they truly cared about my animals' needs. I've since moved out of state. It has gotten so bad that she is pooping just blood. Dr. Fav acted like no big deal and was doing nothing about it. I decided to change vets and the first visit at my new vet they did blood work checked her stool and found out she had parasites! So glad I changed vets and I have been very unhappy with the lack of effort with helping with any of my animals.

When we saw two dogs to look at, the staff let us spend so much time with them. We quickly decided to adopt two huskies and the process was very thorough but efficient. For 3+ days, 2x per day visit seems more appropriate so the kids do not get too lonely (they love people). A few trips were unplanned so my requests were last minute and Keri (owner) was always very accommodating. It's hard to take trips with fur kids, but it makes me feel so much better knowing they are looking after them. I love the emails describing the visit (and sometimes photos too!). The kids always seem calm, happy, and well-fed when I return. I just received an email that Paws is expanding and now offering overnights - which I may take advantage of in the future!
