I had another contractor working at my house who recommended Merrick when I asked if he knew an AC guy. Having just moved to Cedar Park I rely heavily on referrals. I've had to call Kindred Services twice now, two unrelated issues. They are very responsive to texts. Scheduling is so easy. First issue was my bedroom was running hot about 8° hotter than the rest of the house. Miserable for sleeping. I text Merrick he was able to come same day to look. They found quite a few issues up there, (mine is in the attic) so much for my home inspection. Was not a cheap fix but it was very much worth it! They had to replace a duct, do some repair work on the coil and my drain was clogged. I just came home from a business trip and my house was 92° at 3AM. It was awful. I sent Merrick a text he was here fixing my AC within 2 hours! After a thorough inspection of my entire units he found a failed contactor and replaced it. By the time I went to the grocery store and came home my house is already cold again! THANK YOU!!! I know a lot of people get upset paying a service call charge. Honestly what do you get for a service call??? You get a trained professional who brings all his knowledge and tools to your home. How much is just an Uber to your home? They inspect everything and find the problem. Yes it's well worth $125 for this diagnosis and their time, especially when it's someone you can trust who doesn't add a bunch of things you don't need. I can go up there and look at things however I have no idea what I'm looking for. Kindred Services is a company I trust even when you can't see what they are doing. Our 25+ year old HVAC system was acting up right before the holidays and the heater would not come on. Our previous HVAC repairman had retired and a friend/co-worker strongly recommended Kindred. I contacted them and they squeezed me into their schedule the next day since a cold front was on the way. Shaune was able to quickly diagnose the issue and had most of the parts on hand to quickly make repairs that would take us through the holidays and scheduled a follow-up for the final repairs after the holidays. I called Kindred Services on a Sunday afternoon after we accidentally drilled a hole through the drywall and into the HVAC system, releasing all the freon into our house. Jim called me back almost immediately and talked me through what to do about the freon, etc, and then he said he'd be at my house the next day at noon. That next day he showed up and thoroughly inspected our two ancient units (1993 and 2006!) and gave us options for updating both of them, just one unit, and just fixing the busted unit. We went with updating the 1993 unit (which was the one we drilled into!). I feel that Jim gave us an honest assessment, even if it meant he lost a job (he didn't: we will hire him when we're ready for the 2006 update). He came back with his two guys in a couple days and 6 hours of work later they had updated the old unit (inside and out), inspected the ductwork for holes, patched the hole we drilled, and cleaned up their messes. We had our a/c in the attic leak through the ceiling on Saturday night. I did what I could and called Kindred on Monday morning. He said they would fit us in, and they did. Cleared the clog and added tabs, even to the other system that didn't have a problem, to keep it from happening again soon. Will definitely call them the next time we have an issue. read more

I have been using Jimmy for more than 11 years, every since he did a new install on an add-on to my house, which now has 3 separate systems.. He is extremely responsive, efficient and a more than fair price on repairs and installations. This current repair, I needed new coils, he explained how by also replacing the old outside condenser now, the freon is included (installed in the factory in the condenser) versus having to pay for the older more expensive freon if we just replaced the coils. Like getting an additional discount on a new condenser. Very satisfied, and would recommend wholeheartedly for everything from a small repair to a major installation. read more

3 years ago, Jim saved the day when I put a nail through a freon line as I was putting up a chair rail in my daughters room. As soon as I called he immediately came over to help fix the punctured line within minutes- I've been using Jim's company for preventive maintanance on my AC unit ever since. Jim's latest heroics came today when we had an issue with our unit. It was after five, but Jim came over personally to rectify the issue. My family and I now have cool air blowing out of the vents.
