Had Windstream installed last Friday 5/1/26. Installer was great. The saleswoman had came the week before to our home and offered a deal where we would get 3 months free if we did a 2G plan. We had no intentions of switching from Spectrum but it had beem pretty spotty lately. We took her offer and she said we had to give her a credit card that day (Tues. 4/21/26). I did and she set up the installation which was done last Friday. Got an email with instructions how to set up online account to view billing. No 3-month free deal was showing at all! Called customer service and spoke with Laura in N. Georgia who said the "deal" had expired on March 31st! The young lady who sold us the plan also advised that we should call in July when the "free" deal ended and switch down from 2 G to 1G to save money, that we really didn't need 2G but she had to sell us that for the 3-free months promotion. When I called customer service to inquire about the free months not reflecting on the account she said they could not help me. She advised the promotion was not on our account and had ended on March 31st. I asked for a supervisor and was on hold for about 30 minutes. Then the rep, Laura advised that the supervisor would tell me the same thing and would not help with this situation. I asked to speak with the supervisor again. After the hold, Laura came back on the line and said I would have to call accounting, that a supervisor said I would have to deal with them about it. The young lady was contracted through a company she called Soma and did not work directly through Kinetic, but was hired for a few weeks. She rushed me to decide on the deal (which I am finding out had already expired) as she was flying home to Utah in 3 days. This is so scammy!! I have been a small business owner for many years and we had Windstream for 36 years when we lived in Cabarrus County. I can't imagine treating customers like this. I feel like I am a victim of "bait-and-switch" and the saleswoman was just trying to make a quick sale. read more

The most annoying salesmen I have ever encountered. These people knocked on our door 4 separate times in the span of 24 hours trying to sell us their newly installed internet service, even after telling them we weren't interested the first time and hanging a "No Soliciting" sign after the 2nd. Not to mention that we coincidentally experienced our longest outage to date with our current provider, Spectrum, as they were laying their fiber lines. Great way to ensure that I will NEVER be your customer and will warn others about you. Find a better way to sell your service. read more

This place is a disaster - I have been trying to help get my elderly mom's landline and internet fixed for 30+ days and we are on the 5th service call and it's still not working !!! Very frustrating!!! read more

Wonderful staff, cordial, and knowledgeable. We had lighting fry our modem, and they were honest about the pros and cons of buying a personal new one versus continuing to rent theirs. read more

We bought a new house so setup kinetic cable and Internet for the new house and had a technician scheduled to come out today. I went over to the empty new house (with my 1 year old) for the time window. After sitting on the staircase with my screaming 1 year old for 2 hours, kinetic calls and tells us they don't service our area... that seems like something that would of been helpful to tell us a week ago when we set up kinetic for our home.. so now I've wasted 2 hours that we could of been moving AND I won't be able to work for a few days because I have to wait to get another company out here. So frustrating. It would be a great practice for kinetic to start telling customers if they service their area BEFORE setting up an account and scheduling. read more

I am completely appalled by the unprofessionalism across the board at Windstream. I've spoken with NINE different people, made 2 appointments for them to physically come out (they didn't show up either time), spoke with the supervisor, emailed the support team, put in 2 service tickets and have still received no help at all. I am particularly disappointed with the tech supervisor, Wade, who told me he would write a note in my account for a refund and a note in my account stating that we need a representative to physically check the modem at the earliest convenience. He never wrote a note, just a heads up Wade, we can in fact hear whether or not you are typing on your computer through the phone. And just in case you're still not convinced, i called TWO representatives, who BOTH said you never wrote a note, so thanks for all your help Wade. Additionally, every single person I've spoken with on the phone, has interrupted me an obscene amount of times, so it was tough enough attempting to explain to them what my issue was in the first place. I'm not sure if interrupting people at that level is something that is taught in their training, but it was difficult to ignore. None of the departments are connected to each other and they will bounce you back and forth from department to department for hours AND if you're as lucky as I have been, you'll be hung up on 4 times. Also, the representative who came out to hook up our modem in the first place, WALKED RIGHT INTO MY HOUSE. No permission was given at all, he just walked right in the front door as if it was his own house. We have only had this service for a week, and it has already been this big of a nightmare, so I wouldn't waste my time if you're thinking of purchasing this service. read more
