I was ready to give them a 2nd star for reaching out and saying they'd adjust our bill, but our internet is back out. We had internet for 1 day out of 13. Adjusting our bill is the least they can do for us at this point. Luckily, we don't have a contract!! Oh, and I emailed them as they asked in response to my original review, but haven't heard back from them. However, our internet was back up this morning! it stays on! Update: We ended up dropping Kinetic by Windstream. The internet continued going in and out. I emailed them as asked to, but never received a response. To their credit though, they credited us the entire last month. Was waiting to receive the bill to update this and it came today. So, I gave them a 2nd star for doing the right thing, but the service still sucked. read more

I would rate them -5 if possible. Very disappointed with Kinetic Internet. Frequent outages and slow speeds, plus customer service was difficult to deal with and not very helpful. The technical support literally was not able to write down my address to look up my account. It took 5 tries always mangling either a number or the spelling, eventually he dropped the call, just like that, after spending 1 hour waiting and talking. I expected much better reliability and support. If you can avoid them avoid by all means. read more

An outage began on Saturday and we still do not have service restored (this is Tuesday). I was told they "have no idea" when service would be up and running again. There was no backup plan and when I asked if we would be refunded for the days of missed service I was told a refund would be granted to anyone who goes through the channels to request it. Imagine customers not having internet for 3+ days and being told to "apply" for a credit once service is restored. This company has no idea what customer service is. Just look on Reddit and see all the horror stories. We are going to another company for service. read more

Kinetic stormed into the neighborhood like they owned the place, tearing into the ground without warning, without notice--because apparently, they're not required to tell anyone a damn thing. Last night, they sliced through my Spectrum internet line like it was nothing, and guess what? They won't take an ounce of responsibility. Instead, they smugly shrugged it off and told me it's Spectrum's problem to fix. Kinetic caused the damage, and now they wash their hands of it like cowards. They don't care about the chaos they leave behind. They are reckless, arrogant, and utterly useless. read more

Service itself buffers about the same amount as spectrum which is fine. Price as of now is good. Been almost a month and they still haven't buried the line. First bill was wrong and the customer service over seas somewhere is the worse I've ever experienced!!! The lady smacked her teeth so many times it made me laugh how rude and unhelpful she was!!! if I can't solve my issues tomorrow in person or locally I'll be going back to expensive Spectrum read more

Got kinetic a year and a half ago I was told I would be getting 100MBPS for $45 that sounded pretty good, but I just found out that I've actually been getting 10MBPS the entire time YES 10 MBPS, I was told 100MBPS by multiple people multiple times and yet they gave me 10MBPS and have been charging me full price the entire time. I feel like the company knew no one would pay for 10 MBPS so they just lied and said 100 so they can push sales. I asked if I could get a discount or something and they offered me a $5 credit to make up FOR THE YEAR AND A HALF of ripping me off, I've been lied to and robbed please don't go to this provider EVER the cheaper rates are not worth it. Kinetic is the worst internet provider you can get, internet is out constantly, low speeds and crappy customer support. Even now as i am writing this my internet is down and I'm forced to use my phone to access the internet, this company is pathetic. If I could rate lower, I would. After I called about the low speed then they said they can bump me up to 100 and they still weren't able to but were charging me all the same. read more

I've been a customer for over 5 years and until yesterday the service has been excellent but the customer service is dismal. At 9:20 am the service went out out and I called customer service. They said that they had no outages. Thirty minutes later they said they they indeed DID have an outage. At 1:00 they updated their notification saying that they anticipated the service to be restored at 8:00 pm. At 9:00 the changed again and said that were working "diligently" to resolve the issue. At 8:30 this morning I gave up and went to Panera for breakfast and internet. I checked every hour and at 10:00 I got an update that my trouble ticket hade been closed at 20:37 last night, but I still had no internet when I Left at 8:30 this morning. I'm sick and tired of being lied to and gaslighted by the dismal customer service at this company but I'll probably stay with them for their mostly reliable fast internet service. read more

Very unprofessional company. First thing, they ask you to pay upfront the first month plus the install fee. For me it was around 70 bucks. It sounds like a great deal for fiber optic internet, however they charge you 6 bucks a month for a modem. They would not let you use your own modem to avoid the fee. They had me wait 3 weeks for an install. About 3 days prior to it they sent a text message stating the install needs to be pushed back another month. I did not understand what it really meant. After the original install date has passed, I called them to clarify what happened. They said that they do not install in the apartment I live in, and they will have to cancel my order. Just like that, I had to scramble and find another internet providor probably wait another two weeks to get internet. This could have been handled by a apologetic call, but instead no Fs given when I called them. read more

Terrible customer service. Tried to set up a SIMPLE land line for my mother in law. They took the money but shut off the phone. Apparently 2 different accounts were created, by mistake. THEIR mistake, not mine. So, for 3 months of paid service she has received 1 month of actual. Called the incredibly incompetent call center 5 times. It takes about 10 minutes to wade through the morass of the voice menu to get someone on the phone to whom you must explain every detail of the problem, starting from square one. No indication that a 'ticket' has been created, or that anything will change. They promise to call back and take your number, but no call back since yesterday. Total hold time well over 2 hours at this point. read more

I was surprised to see the reviews before mine on here, because I think EVERYBODY should give this company a chance now that some changes have been made. Let me start by saying that I have not received such EFFICIENT, PROFESSIONAL and truly ABOVE AND BEYOND service in many years from my internet company, until KINETIC by Windstream! We had some connectivity issues with our internet, and not only did our service tech ***TRENT TUCKER*** arrive earlier than originally scheduled, he couldn't have been more HELPFUL ! As it turned out, our switch had gotten accidentally tripped in our garage while rearranging things, and Trent took the time to show us where each of the connections were and how to fix or reboot if it happened again in the future. Mr. Tucker was super friendly, and thorough in his work, and we were up back and running in no time at all! Since the switches can be tripped by storms as well, we have already used what he taught us . Despite the fact it was an issue on our end, we were not charged at all for his amazing service! When management made the choice to hire Trent, they put a blessing in their company! Another issue arose recently where we needed internet assistance and Trent INSISTED on coming out on a weekend in 95 degree weather, because he knew that I had important zoom meetings lined up for my job. Talk about dedication! WOW! During this challenging time, I also have to commend this company for the precautions it takes with covid safety, while at the same time not interjecting politics or revamping their service to pander to a "woke" customer base like many other companies are choosing to do. The bottom line is Kinetic by Windstream leadership takes care of their workers, and the trickle down effect is obvious, because their workers in turn take excellent care of their customers. I am SO glad I decided to save our family from the ever increasing monthly bill, sluggish wifi speed, and constant headaches we had with Spectrum. We have been a Windstream Customer since 1993. Since Kinetic took over, we have nothing but problems out of them. Almost monthly we are on the phone with them for one reason or another. They will often times have "outages" that affect our home business and our children's schooling. When we call they will tell us, "there is a ticket for that", then when we call to follow up nothing has been done and they said well we can't do that right now. This happens almost every month with them. The latest incident with Windstream is when we were told that we had not paid our bill since November 2021?!?! We were shocked! Thankfully we keep all of our paper bills along with bank statements. We NEVER set up auto draft with Windstream because they are know to raise a bill by $4 in one month!! So, they were trying to draft money from an account that was NOT attached and that had not been used to pay bills in well over a year. We told them that their company is responsible for the mistake due to their negligence as a company. This last issue really sent us over the edge, but we know that will Windstream we will probably still be looking at more issues in the future. read more

I don't ever post this kinda of stuff. But I'm very frustrated this morning. A week ago I called windstream to purchase internet. Made an appointment for the 14th of this month. The woman got my address and told me I was able to get 10mb...okay get me...the day of my appointment I get a text from them saying my appointment will be rescheduled for the 22nd. Called asked why they told me they had to work on things. I understand and hung up the phone. This morning I wake up to a text from them stating that my order was cancelled. Jump on the phone right then. The woman was extremely rude and told me the reason they cancelled is because they ran out of internet. And also told me I couldn't get the internet where I lived. LIES, let me tell you why. My mother lives literally right behind me same street and all that good stuff. She has their internet( they ended up cancelling on her 2 hours before her appointment )The woman tried to make excuses of course.DO NOT PURCHASE WINDSTREAM INTERNET. read more
