Sorry but that was the worst Chinese food I've have ever tasted. The Mongolian beef was breaded and not sure it was beef. It almost seemed like corned beef. The fried rice looked and tasted like white rice with a couple of peas and carrots mixed in and oil poured over the top. I was a little skeptical of Chinese food in Nebraska but we were treated royally at the King Buffet. The restaurant has inviting decor and is spotlessly clean. All the food was hot and fresh with plenty of meat and shrimp dishes. The maki and Mongolian grill served up tasty treats that went beyond the usual Chinese buffet fare. They even had soft serve ice cream in addition to the usual offerings. I know where I will be dining if I ever pass through North Platte again. read more

Looks at first like another hole in the wall chinese restaurant. BUT, it isn't. This place is great, the food is outstanding and there is so much to choose from you will be amazed. This no longer a buffet. They serve you you just have to tell them what you want. But I think you can eat all you want. Me I got General Tso Chicken, honey chicken, and semseme Chicken mushrooms and fried rice. Again all the chicken flavors taste the same. Except the honey chicken it has a little honey taste. Spent the night in North Platte while on a road trip. Decided to give this place a try based on them having Mongolian bbq. The restaurant was clean enough, and pretty much looks like any Chinese buffet anywhere. The actual buffet food was unappealing to me, but also not the reason why I was there. It looked like standard dishes available. Mongolian bbq was 5 stars. Good variety for selection and the cook was quick and efficient. I'm giving these guys 5 stars because it was a homerun. The only flaw to this very good buffet, that even includes a wokery/grill, is that parents let their under-responsible-age children serve themselves. The restaurant makes no attempt to control that. What I saw a young girl do is NOT acceptable behavior for a buffet. Children under the age of 14 should not be allowed to serve themselves without a parent present. The food was good and varied. Clean up of table plates prompt. Refills of dishes continuous. Foods kept warm. And wokery/grill system very nice so the dish was seasoned exactly as YOU wanted. You do that yourself and the cook only adds water. Slow grilling but worth the wait. read more

I love all kinds of asian food and often stop on the road. This was mediocre throughout. The sushi was all midwestern cheese sushi or dry sashimi. The Mongolian stir fry was run by an apathetic person on laudanum cooking one plate at a time on a giant grill made to do multiples. After waiting 15 min not moving through one customer as she added water after water turning the first person in lines food to likely mush, I got out of line. read more

There was hardly anything worth eating other than the soft serve ice cream. The rice was dried out. The food was soggy or some other texture that would generally be considered "off" for what it typically should be for the food it was. Even the service, which you expect very little at a buffet, was difficult to get. They were friendly, but other than getting seating quickly and someone popping in from the kitchen to stir the chafing dishes, you hardly saw anyone. We used to eat here. I liked it because it was a buffet, and my wife liked it because they have sushi. On our last visit I was in the men's room and an employee or manager (not sure which), and he used the restroom and didn't wash his hands. He left and walked back into the kitchen. Chinese Buffet meets Mongolian Grill I have never been in a restaurant that provides this kind of variety. The Chinese Buffet offerings were vast, and included many non-Asian items as well (Fish, Garlic Bread, Chicken Fingers, Fries) along with a large salad and fruit section. We were there early for lunch time and it even appears they have breakfast items. Maybe this was because it was Sunday? The Vegetable Lo-Mein was my favorite. I went in their to eat tonight. First thing I did was went to the restroom to wash my hands. The restroom was disgusting. It was so nasty the urinals had plastic bags on them the floors were disgusting. The sinks had paper towels in the sink the soap dispensers were disgusting. I then went to my seat contemplating to eat here or not. I was thinking if the restrooms are nasty I wonder what the kitchen looks like. I set down and set their 15 min with noone coming over to tell me anything I didn't know what I was supposed to do so I watched a server clean two tables he carried the dirty glasses by sticking his fingers down in the cups which is a health code violation I know this because I used to be a server before this covid ordeal. These people drinking out of these cups could have covid and hes got his fingers in the cups and after he put down the cups he didn't wash his hands and took a table their bill with some fortune cookies with his nasty hands. After reading prior reviews I was disappointed in the sushi bar. I didn't expect much of a selection so that was okay, but the salmon and tuna was dark and cloudy. The Mongolian grill was okay, nothing special. The regular food lines were plentiful and some choices were not too bad.
