But he then went over his already outrageous estimate. For a simple spay + 1 yr rabies, $396 turned out to be $464! So, $528 for a basic procedure - more than quadruple our regular Vet (W.A.C.). We bit this bullet to prevent another unwanted litter, as there was a backlog at our regular Vet. Because they don't charge an arm & a leg! Same "Doc" failed to correctly diagnose & treat canine skin condition, back in 1999, but made plenty $$ off of us till we found a Vet who could help.

I started going to this vet due to the limited options for veterinary care in the area. He is very…read morepersonable and the staff is wonderful. I went here for over a year at least 4-5 times per month so I would say that I've been here enough times to give a knowledgable review. I loved this guy, I felt like as a breeder that I had a partner in taking care of these dogs/puppies. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that Dr. Dunlap should have retired 20 years ago. He repeats the same stories over and over and told me Happy Easter for 2 months. The problems started happening when I brought a pregnant female dog in for an X-ray to get a litter count. He keeps the dogs the entire day for an X-ray so that he can charge a boarding fee on top of the X-ray. But then he tells me that she's not pregnant, 100% not pregnant. I go home thinking I must be crazy. Four days later babies are delivered. I chalk this up to my fault, maybe we performed the X-ray too early. Then about 6 months later another pregnant mama goes in for an all day X-ray. She's as big as a house, puppies moving under your fingers, and obviously pregnant. Dr. Dunlap says "not pregnant". He even went as far as to say that he felt her stomach and "no babies". I took her to Caroline the next day and 6 babies were clearly seen and felt. I sent the X-ray to Dr. Dunlaps office and I'm told that their X-ray machine is old and outdated and doesn't work right. At about this same time I had bought 2 Pekingese puppies who were exhibiting signs of stress and had diarrhea. Dr. Dunlap put them on 250 mg of Metrondiazol every 12 hours. These were 1.5 pound puppies. Were being key here because both dogs seized and died from this medication given as prescribed. These puppies dying killed me. I gave them the medication that killed them. What also killed me was that the Dr. Dunlap blew off all my questions about this. I understand he wanted to cover his butt but I would have understood if this was an accident. We could have gotten past this. But he lied to me, deflected, and completely belittled the situation. I now know that this should have been 5 mg, not 250mg. I got a call from his office saying that I was getting a 311.00 refund on my last visit. I guess this is his way of apologizing for killing my 4,000 AKC Pekingese.

Received services back in June to assist in training my JRT. Training was 80% talk. Talking about what BB stands for...theory about being the alpha and making noises to correct a dog's behavior. The techniques are so antiquated. Other trainers I have worked with can't believe I went to Bark Busters for help. Working with other trainers has actually led to results. Results I was hoping to see from BB. What really gets me is that after the 2 sessions, I have never heard from Bark Busters. Not the company, nor the trainer. I guess they do not stand by their word or contract. Like Steve Miller sang, " Go on and take the money and run". I will never ever recommend Bark Busters. For those of you who have had success, cheers. Our experience..or lack of...was very underwhelming to say the least.

Lee is an amazing dog trainer. I've had and loved dogs my entire life but I've never had any so…read morewell behaved as the two that Lee has helped us to train. My husband and I adopted 2 black labs that were bred to be working dogs for TSA. The dogs didn't make the cut so we adopted a brother and sister when they were one year old. We've now had them four months and what Lee has done and taught us to do is beyond believable. When we brought the dogs home they had never been in a house, only in a kennel their entire life. They were not potty trained, were not good on the leash, and didn't know even the basic commands such as sit, stay, come. They barked in their crates non stop and would go potty in the house AFTER being brought in from outside. The male dog would not look us in the face and was afraid of the garage and the car and had to be picked up and put in the car for vet visits. He was 60 plus pounds at the time so needles to say he only went to the vet when my husband or sons could put him in the car. We phoned Lee and that's the best call we've every made. He came into the room and his presence alone prompted very different behavior in our furry babies. He worked with them, taught us to work with them, answered my emails usually within an hour or so, but always the same day, and has had several follow up visits. Every single visit with Lee resulted in marked improvement. Fast forward four months to present day and now our guys will go their crates simply by saying "crate". They rarely if every bark in their crates and if so all I have to say is "quiet". They ring a bell on the door when they need to go potty. They don't bark at the neighbors any longer. They sit, stay and come. Walking them on a leash is easy easy easy now. They go through the garage and jump into the car now. The icing on the cake is that now when the doorbell rings they bark, but when I say "It's ok", they go sit at the top of the landing on the stairs. The male dog not only looks us in the face now but brings big sloppy kisses all the time! They are loving, confident, secure and a source of pure joy to us. They are so well behaved that they had their first visit to the dog park yesterday and did beautifully. A man was passing out hot dog bites to the dogs and they were jumping and climbing all over him. Our sweet girl sat in the middle of them and waited for him to give her a bite...no jumping, climbing, barking, just sitting beautifully until it was her turn. Our dogs would not be as happy and we would not be as happy if we had not phoned Lee at Bark Busters to help us. It's a joy to watch him train the dogs. It's obvious he has a true love of animals and our dogs love their time with him.
