Despite what 1 upset person commented - I'll never forget the genuine kindness this family owned business showed me in 2007 when my mom died while waiting for an organ transplant. This was when they were still outside of Nordstrom at International Mall. My dad had commissioned them to make a cross of silver with sapphires on it, and I brought in a small amount of her ashes to have them seal inside of it. They said I could always bring it in for cleaning when I was in town (I was in grad school at UF then). Whenever I came home to visit my dad I'd always walk in (no appointment) and ask if they could clean it while I walked around the mall. Not one single time did they ever NOT remember my name. This is going to long because I want to walk you through my experience so you can avoid having to look down at your finger everyday and shake your head like me... if you don't read the whole thing, at least know the following: 1. If he pulls out a piece of paper to write down numbers, it's a red flag. Pay close attention, that's how we almost got scammed.(and yes he admitted to it after we called him out..) 2. 30 years of experience is 30 years of perfecting the sale with smoke and mirrors. His sweet sister is in on it too.. good cop, bad cop. All a game. 3. NOTHING IS FREE- no discounts without a cost. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way. 4. He will not honor his word with trade in value items so get everything in writing and receipts. 5. His cockiness is not confidence in his work, it's façade. 6. If you ignore my warning and buy here anyway, TAKE YOUR TIME checking his work when you pick it up. He will rush you and you will miss major defects because of it. Back story, my husband, was boyfriend at the time, went into Kings Jewelers a week before we went and got a quote for trade-in value on a few items.(His late wife passed away from cancer years prior and made the very hard decision to trade in her rings, now that we decided to get married. The owner gave him an amount and my husband said thank you and left. A week later, we go into the store to figure what kind of engagement ring I like and what ring size I am. We are welcomed by this nice lady, his sister, we tell her our intentions and reason for being there. She understands shows me rings, I try them on, everything is going smoothly until it's not. I find the style I really like, she mentions that we should talk to the owner so that he can advise on the design. We reiterate the fact that we're just shopping and we wanted to see what I like. I showed the owner the ring I like, told him that I like a plain band, he insisted that I get diamonds on it and said it would look better. Then He said he can make it for me and started adding up the cost on a piece of paper in front of me and my boyfriend. My boyfriend is a little taken back because he really didn't want to purchase it in front of me, but didn't know what to say at this point.(I understand that that is the goal is to sell the ring and that's his job as the owner but when you're shopping for a ring, that's going to be forever, it's just really uncomfortable if it's pushed onto you. ) That's not where it ends. He then tells us he'll give us a discount if we purchase the wedding band as well so we say okay. My husband then brings out the jewelry that he was wanting to trade in, once the owner realized that he was going to use trade-in, he tried to back out on the discount without telling us. He went back-and-forth and made a really confusing with the numbers on the piece of paper and you could tell he was really worked up about it. We called him out on it and he said " ok you caught me, I'm so sorry.. this is not how I do business.. I'm sorry" .... We were completely blownaway. He actually admitted it. Then unfortunately, we were naïve enough to continue anyways. He ended up taking back the number that he said for the trade-in value and changing it and we just agreed because we were so confused and tired at this point and wanted to leave. He said he will make the ring and the wedding band and I can pick it up in two weeks. I go to pick it up and he is rushing me saying "do you like it do you like it?." so quick that I didn't notice until later that the wedding band that he wanted to give a discount on actually has significantly smaller diamonds than the band on the engagement ring so it looks so weird next to each other. Overall, we left and we felt so scammed. It's unfortunate that whenever we think of ring shopping, that's the experience that we have to think about. I do not want anyone else to experience that same thing. So please save yourself and go somewhere else! We read the good reviews also... maybe they just didn't notice when he scammed them. read more

Do not go here. Ever. For anything. They should not be in business. I bought an engagement ring (not from here) and my fiancé took it to get sized for her finger. The brand new ring came back with three MAJOR flaws. The first was one of the surrounding diamonds was missing. Kind of a big deal for a diamond ring. The second was the entire ring was bent and distorted. The jeweler claimed it was just the structural design of the ring. Quite frankly, he is wrong and trying to save face. How stupid do you think I am? The third flaw was previously I had the ring engraved with our names on the inside. Not only was this totally wiped out but he tried to re-do it by engraving our names himself. Common sense would tell you engraving something with a laser is going to look nicer than anything engraved by hand. The result of his work is something that now is totally illegible and, quite frankly, embarrassing. So to repeat... a very expensive brand new perfect engagement ring now looks like it was run over by a car. In other words, taking your brand new Porsche in for a new set of tires and getting a '84 VW Rabbit in return. I am beyond frustrated and upset. If this is a reflection of the quality of their work then they should consider finding a new profession. read more

I brought in my idea for a custom engagement ring and Gabriel not only brought my design idea to life, but surpassed my expectations in every way. I stumbled upon King Jewelers while checking the reviews on another jeweler that I was intending to use to reset my engagement ring. Most jewelers don't want to be bothered with custom work and will push you towards something in their case, but there are a few who specialize in custom work; and Gabriel at King Jewelers is one. I sent him a message on Facebook with my cell # telling him what I was looking to do, and he responded with a text pretty quickly, encouraging me to come into his store. I went the next day, and within twenty minutes, he drew exactly what I wanted and then brought out accent stones and examined each one for color and clarity until he found two that were a perfect match. I paid a deposit and left my ring with very little worries. They told me it would take about ten days, but to my surprise, they called me three days later to tell me it was finished! When I got there, Gabriel was busy with a young man shopping, and when he saw me he told the man "excuse me, I have to deliver a ring to this lady". I was overwhelmed not only by the beautiful ring he hand created for me, but by the kindness and professionalism of Gabriel and everyone in his store, I even got a hug before I left! I priced a few jewelers for replacing my watch battery, and decided to go with Kings in the mall. The places outside the mall were all kinda pricey, but at Kings for my sporty watch, it was 16+tax.
