This call lasted less than a minute while she seemed to be driving. I didn't get to ask the questions I had about the issue at hand. I was surprised to receive and email that same day requesting $5,500 to continue with their services. She also stated she would send our former attorney a letter, indicating she is our new attorney and request our case file. * December 20, 2023: Expedited two $5,000 cashier checks to the firm. ( total $10,000). We were told that our funds would be placed inside an escrow account. * December 21, 2023: Signed a contract, and received a welcome letter from The King Law Firm. * December 26, 2023 @ 9:32 am 11:25 am Received a phone call from Rachel King's paralegal, Gloria, requesting that we send her an email with our attorney's information so she can request the case file. At 10:00 am We emailed Glorida our attorney's contact information. Shortly after, we were Gloria notified me and said Rachel King could not represent us due to her purported unawareness of our case being set for trial. * Post-December 26, 2023: We sent an email requesting Rachel King to return both cashier's check. No response until December 27th. On December 27, Rachel King stated she worked on our case and we will not receive the full amount. I asked her to waive any fees because we were transparent from the beginning. She stated that she would charge me $497.00 and waive two hours. On December 27, 2023 I received a refund of $500. Rachel stayed once I confirm receipt she will send me $9000. I confirmed receipt immediately and no response. On December 28, Rachel King said she was out of town and apologized for the delay. She send an email stated she sent me $9000, verify receipt. Then later said Chase Bank placed a hold on my checks. Finally, I received my $9000 deposit. Now we have to try to hire our attorney back. They did ok in the beginning. I had to move my conservatorship from Arizona to California and do a fiscal report. It was done satisfactory. But recently, I've trying to move my case to a new state, and this firm would not cooperate with the new attorney. I had to direct them to give up the information needed. Then, they asked for statements for the new fiscal report. I sent those over, and no word. Then they substitute themselves from my case, no calls, just a few sporadic emails. I'm going to be filing a report with the bar and entering a complaint. If you're smart, take the reviews here seriously and don't do business. Dishonest, unethical, incompetent, and uncommunicative. Zero stars. Highly recommend against hiring King Law Firm for any reason. I was hit by a car while riding my bike in January of 2020 and hired King Law to pursue settlement for property damage and personal injury. Simple case with witness and police report showing the other party clearly at fault. Initial consultation was positive and Rachel assured me I had a very straightforward and simple case. Sadly, that would be the last of my positive experiences with King Law... once I signed with her to handle my case, communications immediately became an issue; calls and emails regularly went unreturned for weeks, always being told that Rachel wasn't available but that she'd call me back... a call that would never come but repeated attempts would eventually prompt a reply to the email or a short and insufficient text response. This wildly unprofessional communication carried on throughout my case, to also include two people who were running my case leaving the law firm with me never being informed until I called and learned that they'd left and was handed off to someone else. King Law was constantly caught off guard by the other party's attorney and we were on the defensive throughout my case despite me having been the victim in what should have been a 'straightforward and simple' case. During mediation I learned that King Law had accepted a check from Progressive insurance and neither informed me nor disbursed any of those funds to me. Having never been through this process I tried to give the benefit of the doubt to Ms King and hope it would all work out in the end but but my faith was ultimately rewarded by Ms King coercing me to agree to a settlement offer in mediation that I was highly dissatisfied with. In obtaining my agreement, Ms King agreed to reduce her fees and handle reimbursements associated with the case from her fee. But when the check finally arrived from Progressive, Ms King sent me a draft disbursement agreement that included NONE of what she promised in obtaining my agreement to settle. The line item for her fees was more than what she'd promised, and several costs to be reimbursed which she'd promised to handle from her fees were listed as line item deductions from the final payment to me, reducing my settlement by roughly 25%. When attempting to discuss this with Ms King, she became enraged upon my saying that I had text documentation of the promises she made in obtaining my agreement and hung up on me. Text communications thereafter, including screenshots reminding her of her promises were sent and ignored. Ultimately, rather than honor her promises or attempt to meet any sort of equitable agreement in light of her promises, she chose to send me a threatening letter indicating that if I didn't accept the new breakdown of funds she would be handing "the entirety of funds to the Court to distribute" and in doing so, she would be asking the court to award her "additional attorney's fees and costs from my settlement." I could not under any circumstances recommend her to anyone for any reason. TL,DR version... what should have been a simple case dragged on for two years and I was ultimately coerced into a settlement I was dissatisfied with based upon promises from Ms King to reduce her fees and handle reimbursements from her fees, only for her to refuse to honor that agreement and present me with a disbursement agreement paying me appx 25% less than the settlement I agreed to. When confronted with the discrepancy, Ms King became combative and even in the face of text messages documenting her promises, chose to send me a threatening letter to accept the disbursement she was now offering or she would send the funds to court and ask for even more of the settlement she was already stealing from me. Absolute trash as an attorney and as a person, do not hire. If anyone is still considering hiring her and would like specific details or documentation, feel free to message me and I would be happy to provide documentation for the facts above and help you avoid making the same mistake I did in hiring this atrocious firm. read more

Ladies, if you are looking to get your husband the help he needs for his child support case and he has asked for your involvement in the case then this may not be the firm for you,i hired Rachel because at first she seemed genuine and felt good about my choice since the last attorney I hired, was a also a horrible experience (boy was I wrong) seems like you cant trust any lawyers, my husband gave her verbal and wriiten consent and instructed her to email me and to include me in anything to do with the case but she repeatedly disregarded his requests and ignored my calls emails,requests etc. It almost felt like she was annoyed that I was involved even though I hired her, almost made it a point to ignore me on purpose, her excuse was that my husband was her client not me, on one ocassion she actually replied and because I questioned her she got very defensive and threatened to quit, the only time I woul get a call was when she needed any type of document or the time she needed more cash, we initially gave her 2500 then 6 to 7 months later her secretary calls and asks for another 2500 mind you we ourselves settled out of court with the other party agreeing to pay her more in child support and dropping the custody case so that he wouldnt get charged with the 18k in back pay that he never even owed and all the firm had to do was mediated the transaction,also in my husbands case DCSS was involved and was a bit different, today we finally after repeatedly asking for the breakdown of the additional 2500 we gave her in July, mind you we were supposed to go to court on July 9th but because we settled we didnt have to go, so she finally sends the breakdown almost 2 months later and it has this ridiculous amount, the entire 2500 gone for charges of less than 4 hours of work on what? Then she has the audacity to get mad and again try to intimidate me by sending me a substitution of attorney which btw the case is done with, also I had sent her several emails regarding a letter if intent that needed to be sent to the other party and since we were done with the case. It was something we could have sent ourselves but I was again ignored and we were billed 395.00 dollars, had we known it was going to cost that much, we would of told her not to send it but never had a chance to because, again she ignored me. I had a consultation with Rachel King two weeks ago and chose this firm because she allowed me to split up the retainer fee. Rachel told me she would be working on filing my forms so I could get a court date on the calendar. A few days later I spoke to Shelly the paralegal who was getting my paperwork started and that it would be filed that Friday. I was excited and sent her everything she asked for. That Thursday I sent Shelly a f/u email but didn't hear back. I called the office Friday afternoon and spoke to Jennifer (manager?) who informed me that Shelley had left the firm. I was disappointed because no one called to follow up with me. I asked Jennifer when my paperwork would be filed as well as when my next payment was scheduled for. She said she hadn't ever known Rachel to split up the retainer but that she would call me back to let me know. She never did and all weekend I had such anxiety thinking I made a mistake picking this law firm . Finally I spoke to Jennifer Monday after I called many times that morning. She told me that the forms were ready but that they wouldn't have me sign them or submit them until I paid the other half of the retainer fee. I was so confused as this is not what I was told by Rachel herself and of course I had every intention to pay as I needed to be represented by them. By this point all trust was gone for me and I asked for a refund. I told Jennifer that I found a lawyer who's retainer fee was more affordable (As I wanted to file these forms ASAP) That's when she said well if you can pay them that price we will file it for you at that same amount and you can pay the difference later. I was so shocked and knew that I made the right decision. She said that she was going to subtract $161 for some work that was already done (forms I will never see). I reluctantly said yes and she said she would call me back with information on how it would be sent out to me. When she called back she said the check would be mailed out to me and I confirmed that only $161 would be subtracted and she actually said I'm not sure because the new paralegal Megan was working on it today and I don't know how much time she put on it. WTH! Their word means nothing here and I am deeply disappointed because I trusted them and not only wasted my time but hard earned money. read more

I do not recommend at all. First off they charge for an initial consultation over the phone which in most law firms are free. Then when I went in to talk to the main lawyer I ended up talking to her legal assistant mostly. Well actually her assistant would not let me get a word in and continually interrupted me. I finally had to get her attention and asked her to please stop interrupting me because real communication is not one sided. And hello, it was my life and my case and I had not even begun getting my case details out to them or what I was needing from the law firm. This was very frustrating! Even crazier was how angry and defensive this legal aid got after I called her on it. I even called her on it kindly and told her I understand because interrupting was something I tended to do as well, so I am very aware and I work hard not to. It was just not going to help my case with that continually happening, plus it was eating up my time! Extremely unprofessional legal assistant. This horrible woman screwed me out of my inheritance. This was, by most accounts, a simple procedure and yet she managed to screw it up completely. My brother, a disbarred attorney, and executor of the estate, would not let me see the will, so I had to sue. Rachel said it was routine and I, being an heir, had every right to see who the beneficiaries were and the amount and assets of the estate. I signed what I thought was the proper paperwork as instructed. It turned out she talked with my brother's attorney and was told I would not be allowed to view the documents. She never told me and I ended up signing documents that she approved. Later, I found out the documents agreed with the state estate attorney. When I called her to protest, she told me it would cost me $500 per hour to further discuss the matter. I should have known when I first was introduced to her. She looked like a real slob. read more
