I left a voicemail with her admin that day, but never heard back. On Tuesday, Feb. 17, I called back again. This time her admin did answer and told me she didn't receive a voicemail from me on Monday, Feb. 16. I explained what was going on and why I was seeking legal help. The admin took down my information, explained pricing (just fyi the pricing I was quoted for the per hour rate at this firm is roughly in the 89th percentile when compared to the average per hour rates of attorneys in the state of NC) and told me she would need to run a "Conflict of Interest" form. The admin told me she would get back to me by the close of business on Tuesday, February 17 or at the latest, Monday, February 23. Apparently, the admin was going on vacation and would be out of the office February 18-20. Today is Thursday, February 26 and I still had not received a call back from this admin. I just called and the admin told me she had been really busy since returning from vacation and was trying to get caught up...not my problem at all! She explained that my "Conflict of Interest" form came back ok but that she was waiting to hear from Mrs. Goldstein as to whether or not she would be interested in the case. The admin told me they are really busy and can't always get back to potential clients within 24 hours...10 days is significantly different than 24 hours, which is how long it had been since my initial contact with the firm. I don't have a problem paying a premium for potential services that will be rendered by a professional. However, having said that, I do expect premium customer service in return...that simply was not the case with my experience with this firm. So, now, I am 10 days in to this process and starting back over at square one!

Her response to emails was extremely slow, and it often felt like it was bothering her. Almost every email required a text alert to inform her of its receipt. She never took my case seriously and always scheduled calls with me at the last minute of the workweek. The most egregious incident occurred the weekend before Easter when she called while driving. The call dropped three times, and even after I had questions about my case, she declared that she had arrived at her destination and had to go, hanging up abruptly. This left me feeling anxious about the information she had provided and the lack of a thorough explanation. My time with Janee was terrible. She was uncommunicative and clearly needed assistance in her home office. I strongly advise you to work with someone who is more organized, responsive, and professional. I had to hire another attorney to complete the work I had started with her. After I asked her about settling any outstanding bills and officially ending her time as my attorney, I heard nothing. Five months later, out of nowhere, she sent me a bill for nearly $1,000 for more of her subpar work, exceeding the original retainer fee. However, I noticed that the call she made while driving through the mountains that repeatedly dropped was included on the bill. She should be ashamed of herself.

When I first saw this man, he walked into the room, and everybody involved, there went automatically into high level of discomfort.
