I moved to CA and my husband was in SC but was supposed to moveas well. Obviously life happened…read moreand excuse after excuse developed for him not to move. My husband requested a divorce and I later found out he had been having an affair for two years. Due to the distance and the affair I wanted a quick and easy solution. With no kids involved my husband and I agreed to an amicable divorce. The husband wanted to file the papers ourselves but I refused due to the chance of something going wrong and potentially finding out later I was still married. Being in CA complicated matters but after some research I found Brian! Brian was the upmost professional and was understanding and gracious. He was helpful at every turn and honest. This was supposed to be a quick divorce that only took 3-6 months but my husband would not get his part done quickly and the divorce took nearly a year. Brian was patient and understanding and continued to work with us. Brian is fabulous. He is quick to respond and answer questions. He is honest and forthcoming with his thoughts. His para-legal, Marla, is fantastic as well. She was quick to respond via email and text. During the week of the divorce there was a paper that needed to get done quickly and she talked me through the process and calmed me down during a very stressful time at work. You will not go wrong using Brian as your attorney! I feel lucky and blessed to have found him, you will be as well!

I am on disability and my financial situation dictated that I find someone willing to work with me on that front. My wife and I met with Brian and were impressed with him. He is very friendly with an easy manner. He has a way of taking tense and intimidating situations and deflating them, making those situations much more comfortable and easier to handle. He is great at helping you stay centered when everything around you seems to have gone haywire. For us, he was a steadying presence in the most chaotic and disruptive situation of our lives. My case was a very contentious and difficult one. Brian worked long and hard for me and always got back to me when I had concerns or questions. My wife and I were in a place where every new development felt like an emergency, so there were a lot of times when we would get a little more worked up than was appropriate, but Brian was very patient with us and helped move us from a panicked state to a much calmer place. One of Brian's strengths is his ability to make legal processes and documents understandable for the layman. Obviously, dealing with a legal situation can be very confusing, but I was always able to understand clearly what we were dealing with after Brian had explained things to me. Needless to say, it was very comforting to know that I wasn't going to be left in the dark and confused by legal terminology and procedure. Brian represented me very ably in the court room. He seemed very comfortable and confident in that environment, and did his best to minimize the amount of pressure I felt. I was particularly struck by the feeling that he was fighting hard to protect me and my interests. I feel like Brian is the kind of lawyer that will fight for his clients, because I saw him fighting for me. When the process was over, I ended up in a better place than where I started concerning my custody situation. I have more time with my son than I did before all of this, and I have Brian to thank for that. His hard work and dedication to my case yielded positive results, and believe me when I say that he went far beyond his responsibilities to help me. Considering my financial limitations, I did not think it would be possible to find anyone as capable and engaged as Brian was. He did what most lawyers would not. He put helping a client in need over immediate financial concerns. With all that said, I personally feel like Brian is genuinely a good person. My situation was a difficult and frustrating one, and because of my disability, I can be a difficult person to deal with. The fact that Brian stuck by me with care and understanding through what had to be a frustrating case for him is something I will always be grateful for. If you want a lawyer that will represent you capably and who will always do right by you, then I cannot recommend Brian Johnson enough.

Hiring a new lawyer is a risk. You have no idea what you are getting…read more I hired Vijay Nathan @ Curtis Sluder to fight a traffic ticket. I thought I had a good case, but who knows? Mr. Nathan carried the ball for a touchdown. He got the case dismissed. I was delighted at the outcome and, overall, very satisfied by the firm's client service. Gamble paid off!

After I was ticketed, I contacted 2 other attorneys in addition to Mr. Dillin. Mr. Sluder's office was one of them. I sent the same email to each attorney. While Mr. Dillin responded almost immediately very late at night and answered his own phone, I received an email the next day from Mr. Sluder's assistant. While Mr. Dillin would be representing me personally, I would be represented by Mr. Sluder's Buncombe County associate. While Mr. Dillin was confident that he would be able to get my charge reduced to an equipment violation which would not have any insurance or DMV points, Mr. Sluder's office wanted to plead to 0-9 over the limit. While that would (theoretically) would not have resulted in an insurance rate increase, it would have resulted in an 1 point on my driving record. They were not even open to discussing an alternative. While Mr. Dillin was only going to charge his attorney fee upfront, Mr. Sluder's office was going to charge the entire amount (court costs, fines, and attorney fees) upfront regardless of the outcome. Since Mr. Dillin was able to get my charge dismissed, I owed nothing more -- thus saving myself well over half of what I would have paid Mr. Sluder's office. On the plus side, Mr. Sluder's office was NOT the worst of the 3 attorney's. The 3rd took 2 days to get back to me, would have charged over 150 more than Mr. Sluder and if he was able to get my ticket dismissed, still would have kept the entire amount. The upshot -- if you get caught in the NC State Highway Patrol's annual "fundraiser", do yourself a favor and contact multiple attorneys and find the one that will do what's right for you rather than what is right for them.
