DON'T SHOP HERE! Over the last few months, I've noticed items advertised on sale and then showing up for full price at the register and the associates will not honor the posted sale price, which is against the law. The two times this has happened, the clerk said they could void it and take it back or I can pay the price that shows at the register. I went today needing a couple of essentials and decided to treat myself to an orchid. I get in the car and peel off the $13.99 price tag to find the original price was $11.99. They are actively scamming customers and up charging items under the guise of a sale...I'm sure they do this with all of their items. First, as my neighborhood King Soopers I find the prices reasonable, produce fresh, and staff usually very friendly. I do have issue that (as with many stores) the clerk staff are minimal, often the self-checkout is the only way to check out, the devices often has an issue which only a staff member can resolve. Often, the device erroneously thinks you've placed an item into the bag that hasn't been scanned. They then have a full time security guard check every receipt upon exiting. Customers would be better served going back to a checkout clerk with no need for a second person to check every receipt. read more

I simply had to use the bathroom. There was no signs to direct you to the bathrooms. I asked a worker where the bathroom was to which he pointed but did not provide me with the code needed. I found another worker and he said, "He needed to find someone with the code" I waited for five minutes. Ridiculous service. This King Soopers is large and full equipped for all my grocery shopping needs. The employees are usually fast and friendly and the shelves are mostly fully stocked. The hot foods and deli department serves up fresh and tasty meals when I'm looking for a quick meal on the go. Good service at the deli counter and at check out. read more

The selection is just average. It has the ambience of an abattoir. There are never enough cashiers. The pharmacy is nearly as bad as Walgreens on Hampden. But nothing could be as bad as Walgreens on Hampden. You shouldn't shop here and you should definitely write your congressman immediately and voice your opinion in opposition to the Kroger / Safeway Albertsons merger. This King Soopers is the worst. They truly do not care about you or your shopping experience. The staff is either dismissive or unpleasant or simply ignore. Checkout is often a nightmare. It's not unusual to see only one checkstand and only half the self scan open during busy times, with lines to checkout extending halfway to the back of the store, and staff does not care. Do not try to go to the bathroom here. They put a combination lock on the bathroom and the only way to use it is if you are lucky enough to find an employee stocking dairy, and then he will give you a sour look and make a sound and reluctantly open the door. If you cant find him you dont use the bathroom. The shelves are usually not full stocked, and they shuffle the location of most items every few months. Drive a few more minutes and go to another location. This place has turned into a hell hole. The employees don't give a rip and it shows. There are zombies and homeless walking through this place. The AC breaks down (in the summer!) and the lines are long and I never see a smile from any of the staff. We went to this King Soopers on a Monday evening after an event across the street. At that hour, there are a few patrons, busy shopping. Hubs wanted to get some medication while I opt to stock up on some grocery that evening. There are a couple of items which are on SALE so I decide to purchase those such as the Kroger Sweet Condense Milk, Pizza, Ramen Noodles and Kroger Eggs to name a few. I was shopping at this King Soopers today and had to use the restroom. I asked an employee where it was and they said that it was in the back, but someone had to open the door for you. I went to the back and an employee was in front of the bathroom door and said "we don't have public bathrooms" in a very disrespectful manner. I let her know that it was an emergency and she laughed at me. It was pretty humiliating. I had to leave the store and go to McDonalds down the street to use the facilities. I go to King Soopers regularly in in Parker where everyone is very nice and helpful. I hope I never have to set foot in this place again. There is a level of basic human kindness that a person can show towards others, this King Soopers employee could not be bothered to show it. Not your average friendly safe grocery store. It is very common to see homeless looking people roaming the store muttering things to themselves, congregating at the front entrance and in the parking lot. It is off putting to see people so obviously high on drugs while you try to pick up produce, watch your purse at the same time and know that another group may be very close to your car as you load groceries. As someone who shops either very early or late hours, it is down right threatening. Also, don't count on this store to be open at 5am like it's supposed to be. read more

Despite having driven by this King Soopers hundreds of time, I have only been inside once or twice. I stopped in the other day to grab some groceries and a coffee while killing time before a movie. The place was quite busy, and it took more than a little effort to weave in and out of folks while traversing the store. As noted by Shea, everything seams rather cramped in this store (aisles, parking lot, you name it). However, the shopping experience was okay. I found what I needed, and I made it through the checkout line relatively quickly. I also needed to go through the customer service window. They were rather slow about opening up a second window despite there being seven customers in line. The staff were friendly. read more

I enjoy this particular King Soopers for the most part. It has a wide variety of items and food that I need. There are two things desperately needed at this store. More kid containing carts with the fun car on the front are needed. A sign informing parents that it is recommended that these carts be used for one or more small children. I encountered a very rude parent tonight at this store who had four children and was using a regular cart. Two were in the cart. The other two were unsupervised to the side of the cart. Mom wasn't paying attention. I told the uncontained children 'excuse me' three times then Mom stated that one child was only three years old. They impeded my way but created an unnecessarily dangerous situation for themselves and others. The Mother was not polite at me but yelled at me for saying 'excuse me.' It was a lack of manners and non discipline of her children on her part. If the store provided more kid containing carts and insisted on families using them this situation could have been avoided. read more

This store consistently plays the best mix of rock & pop, especially at night. I must have been so engaged in the music that I walked out, leaving my $40 dollars change in the U-Scan-It dispenser. Imagine my surprise when I go out for lunch today, and cannot find said pair of yuppy food stamps! Anyway, I returned to the store this afternoon, receipt in hand. I asked sheepishly if anyone turned in $40 last night. The desk clerk found the head clerk, who recognized me from the evening before, and promptly pulled out two crisp $20 bills. You constantly provide the best prices for folks living and working in the Tech Center that are willing to venture outside the DTC boundaries to put 85 octane in our beloved mobile cocoons. You also sport a clean shopping experience with friendly service. However, it pains me to tell you that I...well...also hate you. Your parking lot and store layout are so cramped that it brings out the previously unknown claustrophobic in me. It reminds me of what the Safeways looked like prior to their remodels 10-15 years ago. Well, color me impressed. I have only gone to this store in the past because of the pharmacy. They are so nice and friendly there, I just love them. But I have never done any serious shopping there. It's not that I didn't like it, it just isn't the closest store to me, and the parking lot is a pain. They have remodeled and the first thing my cart takes me to (I put the cart on auto-pilot) is the revamped deli. It is so nice, I just can't believe it. An olive bar, cheeses, the works. I move on and I'm wondering how they seemed to have gotten their departments bigger and better and oh-so-wonderful without making the building bigger. Big isles, easy to navigate, so much to choose from. Their ethnic selection is always much bigger and better than Safeway and I see it seems to be even better than it was. Their meat department is waaay better than it used to be. I will be going out of my way more often to shop at this store, even though I hate the parking lot. Now the parking lot is even smaller to accomodate the new gas station. read more

This is the most inconsistent grocery store chain I've been to. Some stores have everything, others have nothing. One time I was looking for egg twist bread, and only one damn store in the entire area had it. Another time, looking for Weber's "Boston Bay" seasoning, again--only one store had it, none of the others. And the name of the store--what does it mean? Quality is definitely lacking. I wanted fresh chicken breasts, and what I found was thawed, still half frozen chicken available. Parking is terrible--the store does not bother to plow or use salt in the winter months. I am so tired of being treated like a criminal for using coupons by King Soopers. Not just this King Soopers-I've had the same experience at the King Soopers on University and Hampden and the King Soopers on Quebec and County Line. Clearly this is an issue with the chain and not just the individual stores. I am not buying 15 of one type of an item and using 15 coupons for that item. I am buying one or two of an item and using 1 coupon per product. I generally have a pretty positive experience through the rest of this store-the people in produce, dairy, and the meat department are all great at this King Soopers. Then your cashiers ruin my experience. In addition King Soopers offers free Friday downloads-a coupon for a free item. Great loss leader however half the time the product is not in stock. I have complained directly to King Soopers and via the customer feedback survey. The first time they didn't even read my email and offered a lame apology for the wrong issue. The second time-"We'll notify the manager at the store." Really? Poor service and an even worse apology. I will continue to get my free items but King Soopers will not get another dime of my money until the offer a solution to their issue with coupons, provide me with a sincere plea to keep my business, and get a clue of what business they are in. Hint-I have other options when I get groceries. Try a little service and respect for your customers. Don't accept coupons if you hate the people using them. read more

Just noticed that there was a new King Soopers near one of my favorite pizza place (Patxi's). The store is big and bright, kinda remind of Wholefoods on Colo. Blvd. The stuff they sell are similar to most King Soopers but with more emphasis on organic products. I also recommend to check out their bread sales rack. I stop at this location mostly in the mornings on my way to work when I need to pick up creamer, doughnuts, get coffee or gas. Yes, it is multi-functional. This is an average grocery store. It is right around the corner from my home but I tend to avoid it. What is good about it is that, if you have a King Soopers card, you can get really good deals on meat and their meat department is pretty good. I find their offerings to be fairly fresh and usually cook up quite well. The produce dept is okay. Not a great selection but what's there is generally decently fresh. The rest of the store is adequately clean and well organized. Service is good though - everyone is very friendly here, if just a tad bit odd. But, as they say, it takes on to know one. :) read more
