I was fortunate enough to work with Michelle and Yugo when they were still a Vancouver-based company. I'm sad they moved away, but I feel compelled to write them a review because of the amazing experience I had with them both. I've never had a photoshoot done before, and I DEFINITELY don't consider myself to be photogenic, at all! However, despite all of that, I now have a fantastic set of photos, that I'm very proud of! Start to finish, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary! I was extremely nervous and had low hopes on the the entirety of it (not because of their talents or capabilities) but because I didn't feel like a model... or knew how to pose...or knew much of anything with regards to fashion. Despite this, I don't even have enough words of gratitude to express to Michelle for her understanding, flexible, and hands-on approach. She was very calm, gentle, and extremely knowledgable. Her attitude really made for a fun environment, and my nerves went away almost immediately. Her attention to detail and vision is expressed through each an every advice & instruction. She knows EXACTLY what to do, pair, style, choreograph, etc... I really enjoyed her styling and photoshoot choreography because it made my life a lot easier, and you can really get a feel for her passion to create art with fashion to evoke and emotion or thought. Yugo was an absolute gem! He is SUCH an amazing photographer and I can't stress his talents and capabilities enough. The shots he was able to produce were incredible. He is incredibly friendly, knowledgable and patient. One thing I really appreciated was that they both sat me down after and we all reviewed the photos together, and all expressed our opinions to create the best possible set of photos. They were super organized and timely, and I was able to receive my photograph package fairly quickly after the photoshoot, and the results were amazing. As a musician, I'm used to having photos snapped of me in candid situations, but doing a real photoshoot--where every detail counts and looking natural is all but easy--is a whole other matter. During the most recent photoshoot for my band, Taylor & Bryn, the dynamic duo running King Street Photo Studio helped put us at ease and allowed us to have a lot of fun while doing the shoot. Yugo ended up taking over 250 shots, as Michelle groomed and corrected our outfits, hair, and posture. They put on music and offered us exotic bubbly drinks while we fiddled with our bowties. Yugo's simple and direct instructions gave us leeway to be both serious and silly, and as a result we got a huge range of pictures to choose from. We were very happy with the end result too, after receiving the edited and polished photos. We ended up using one of our photos from that shoot as our main website picture on the homepage. Michelle and Yugo are two gems who are passionate about what they do and this is beautifully illustrated through their work. I had the chance to get professional photos done by Yugo while he was still living in Vancouver. I needed photos taken for my LinkedIn, and since I uploaded the photos I have gotten so much positive feedback. In a society that works through networking on social media and finding career prospects online, having a professional photo done goes a long way and Yugo did such an amazing job.
