I recently shopped at the other bike store that's practically across the street, unfortunately or…read morefortunately that store does not carry full bike covers and I was told by the owners from their experience most of the bike covers manufactured today are cheap and flimsy and don't hold up and it's only a matter of time before they rip and the customer usually ends up frustrated even though the store only sells them and doesn't manufacture them, so they choose not to sell inferior products. Well here I am writing a review on a store that did choose to sell these flimsy bike covers and at a considerable markup I'm sure. I purchased these two covers to protect my two bicycles that I haul on the back of my RV (fast forward 5 miles) these poncho like covers lasted five miles before shredding like documents in a government office. Now I'm not holding the staff or the store responsible by any means I thought I'd just share my experience so you may want to do you're own due diligence prior to making a purchase here because this place is in the business to sell and the gentleman that helped us was all about getting our money and walking us to the door any questions I asked regarding my concerns was dismissed and I was given a reassuring response like he felt I expected which was not the case - I think I was probably holding them from closing the door even though it wasn't closing time according to the store's posted hours. This is a beautiful store but I prefer the customer service at their competitors. Starting point for the nature trail. Inside you will find restrooms, a small gift shop ,…read moremaps/brochures, exhibits & displays as well as helpful staff. It's a must stop if you are doing the trail or if you just need a quick bathroom break off the interstate. Will was working behind the desk during our stop and was extremely enthusiastic about the trail and culture of the area and was very helpful in providing info. I was very entertained by the interactive displays;) My favorite was the music station ....yes I was a big kid "playing" the instruments but I enjoyed every minute. It's an exhibit with different musical instruments with a choice of Zydeco or Cajun music . Once you choose which genre you want to hear, background music starts playing. It's up to you to bring the song to life by "playing" the different instruments: mandolin, washboard, accordion etc. Kids or adults, it's fun ;) Here you can also smell popular Cajun spices , peek inside a pelican's mouth, hear how common Cajun words and phrases are pronounced , take home a recipe and even try on clothes for a photo opp. Several exhibits also cover the wildlife and plants you will likely see on the trail. Everything is very well done! Definitely worth a stop.

Great Park in Lake Charles, La!!…read more I was here in February 2020, and this huge park seemed to be very popular. It's a great place to either just chill in your car and zone out watching the water and bridges, or to take a stroll along the paved trails and wooden walkways. Very cool!!

After a late lunch, we made our way to Lake Charles Veteran's Memorial Park. There are several lots close to the park so parking shouldn't be an issue. After parking, we discovered that there are actually several parks adjacent to each other including Bord du Lac Park and the Lakefront Promenade. We ended up walking through all of them. What stands out about the Veteran's Memorial Park is the statues commemorating veterans. And it's more than that! You even have a full-size tank so there are plenty of photo opps. I wanted to climb on top of the tank but there was a sign saying that wasn't allowed so I was good. It's a small park but one that's worth checking out along with the others in the area.
