I called them at 9pm and was seen by Dr Fritz at 10am who then performed surgery to stitch his wound about 1pm and I had him by 4pm. Dr Fritz took so much time to go over what they had done and how to care for Teddy's wound. My Chrissie had terrible loose stool and vomiting and needed immediate attention. Again I called at 8am and we had an appointment for 10am. Dr Fritz and her staff treated my Chrissie and me with such kindness. Explained her labs and cultures results. Prescribed probiotics, medications to sooth her esophagus from the vomiting, prescribed the diet, and nausea medication. Her loose stopped within hours and when she was eating, I was told to come to her office to get an appetite stimulant. This worked within 3 hours and my Chrissie within 3 days is eating, going regularly to the bathroom and is my happy little girl. I can't thank Dr Fritz and her team enough. Thank you for being the caring vet that is so hard to find.

Luckily the wounds weren't very severe but the team was very thorough and took the time to explain everything to us and also show compassion during this difficult time. Our Frenchie, Subaru, is very lucky to have had such great care. 100% recommend Southbay Animal Hospital! Shoutout to Molly, she was so helpful and truly such a great person to us.

I experienced this wonderful, compassionate, loving experience yesterday, on Sunday, 11/23/2025; on that day, my grief was way too great to post afterwards. I awoke to my 1 1/2-year-old, precious male cat in intense pain (maybe that age-not sure because he was a stray I took from someone who found him). He was hurting so badly he was embedding his claws in me while trying to get his morning love and dealing with his pain. Beacon was the only one open: after reading Robin's interview, I called and through tears explained what was going on, explaining that what I needed now was compassion and love without the P&L numbers being considered, as I have been unemployed for the past 6 months, and the last month due to the stupid government shutdown. Struggling to keep life going, this was not something I needed, and I was distraught with the thought that, if I couldn't find someone at least willing to look at him with love and compassion that I was going to have to watch my poor baby suffer and potentially die during the next 24 hours. What I found at Beacon in Riverview was more love and compassion than I could have asked for. From the initial phone call to the fact that I wasn't charged a dime for their wonderful care, I could not have been guided by my higher power to a more perfect team. The free ultrasound revealed that he had a bladder blockage that had developed over the last 24-36 hours; knowing that due to this occurring at his young age that he would be living a life of bladder and kidney issues, it was determined that euthanasia was the most compassionate and loving thing for him. I apologize that I cannot remember anyone's name, but the team at Riverview on 11/23 was made up of the most wonderful women (if there were any guys, sorry, but I did not have any interaction with you and I'm sure you're just as wonderful!). The vet spoke with a lot of love to my dear Bart, and this is when I found out she had just lost her beloved cat 4 days prior and I heard her tell him to "remember to look for Beastie (I think that was the name) like she told him to when he crossed the bridge". And when it was over and the intense loss and grief took over, she was there with a hug for both of us as I held him for the last time with reassurance that, due to my love and bond with Bart, that he would find me again. What more can I say?
