Nursery alert!! Plant moms be aware!!! While looking for pansies to winterize our front bed I found King's Greenhouse. I had passed King's a week or so driving to the Asian Market in Stallings and didn't pay much attention. Just a new greenhouse to check out later. Who knew I would be back in a week. The greenhouse has several different parts/areas. Pottery, houseplants, succulents, cacti, and seasonal area. The pansies had just arrived so they were right up front. There was a discount for purchasing 18 or more. I got 36 or 3 flats. Plus some philodendron from the house plant area. So happy with all my purchases. I wasn't able to do much exploring but I will be back. Customer service was great. We were helped to find everything we needed. I was also notified that if you have a wish list you can let them know and they will try to get them in!!! I was also told they have an FB page to look for updates and alerts on there. They also are practicing safe Covid 19 behavior. They had mask for customers and hand sanitizer. Employees also wore mask! This place is so awesome! I hadn't been before, and checked it out the other week. Reasonable prices at least for what I was looking at, a great selection of outdoor and indoor plants as well as veggies, herbs, and pots. The front area is mostly outdoor plants and as you walk into the back there are some indoor, and smaller tropical plants as well as an awesome selection of succulents. The girls at the checkout counter were very friendly, as were the employees walking around. I was mostly left to shop by myself (which I didn't mind), but am confident someone would have helped me, had I had any questions! The best part, they gave out bonus bucks based on what you spent to use at a later date! If you are looking for a local greenhouse to replace the love you once had for Malone's or Campbell's Greenhouse (unfortunately both closed), this is your place!! read more

Stopped in to kill time while on a work trip. Kings has a lot of plants and some great deals. I got a huge holiday cactus on clearance for $13 - I've seen them go for $30+ at that size. I spoke with several staff members while I walked around; everyone was very pleasant and knowledgeable! read more

Do not believe their warranty plan. They will make you buy extra fertilizer/soil and if your plants die, they will just tell you they plant you planted them wrong and offer no compensation. I was told by the manager after having a $500 tree die that I should've practiced on a cheaper tree. read more

Fantastic garden store!! I had a wonderful experience shopping for my home flowers and helped by nice people. I was looking for perennial flowers and they helped me select good options. I like the layout and the shopping carts. It was busy but the line moved quickly. I found all my flowers --butterfly bush--and also bought some mulch. The flowers seemed to be in good shape and they give you a one year guarantee. Also you get coupons for the total and can get discount on a return trip. The staff was super helpful and helped me fill my car. The Parking lot was super crowded so plan ahead on time of day. I went on a Saturday and it was busy. read more

Starting off I went here for house plants and I don't do much for outside plants. I wanna say only 1/5 of the property was dedicated to house plants but there were some excellent finds! I would love to see more house plant here in the future. I'd definitely stop by if you're in the area! read more

Visited King's for the first time today. I have dabbled in outdoor gardening and kept a few houseplants for years. During the crazy changes with COVID, Gardening has become my biggest pastime and kept me sane. The greenhouses are set up so cute, and they have a huge variety of both outdoor and indoor plants. Several staff members greeted me and asked if I needed help. Went home with way too many plants, but very happy. I love calathea plants, and they had several varieties. As many items as they had, you could see that they had a good bit of open space-which I would expect at this time of year. Can't wait to go back again and visit during the spring season. Plants that I bought look full, healthy, and pest free. Bonus of seeing dozens of butterflies flying through the greenhouses! read more

I could get lost here for hours. They've got everything you could want for your outdoor space, and all that and more for your indoor gardens as well. The staff are helpful and creative, and kudos to Phillip who helped me plan my shade garden at the new house - they really know their stuff. The selection puts Home Depot and Lowe's to shame which is another big plus for King's. Quality of products is very high, but unfortunately that often is accompanied with a higher price tag, so get your expectations set before you visit. Recently a college friend and Navy buddy of ours passed away in Mint Hill, NC. When I say ours I'm referring to over a dozen Naval Academy graduates, class of 1972. I picked up the responsibility of arranging for an appropriate arrangement of flowering plants to be planted in Steve's memory at Steve and Susie's Mint Hill home. I happen to be in upstate New York and except for driving up and down I-95 I am clueless about the Charlotte and Mint Hill area. I got on the phone and left several messages at garden centers in the Charlotte area. Mike at King's got right back to me. With Mike's cooperation, patience and attention to detail I was able to arrange the purchase of 5 beautiful flowering plants for Susie's home that were delivered this past Saturday, 6/3/23 much to her surprise and gratitude and I never left upstate New York. Mike and the team at King's also arranged for Phil Bauschard of Ideal Landscaping to pick-up and deliver the plants and then Phil worked with Susie to arrange the plants in a new flower bed in Steve's memory. A well-oiled machine! Stopped in today for mulch and soil for a patio planting project. I wasn't there very long before I was approached by a helpful employee who offered to answer my questions. He helped me make my selections, loaded the cart with the heavy bags and wheeled it to the checkout counter. After checking out, two young guys took the cart to my car and loaded my purchases. I just bought quite a few plants here and two hanging baskets died. King's Greenhouse exchanged them for me and had great customer service in righting the wrong. This place is so quaint and cute. They have everything your looking for and it's all organized for you to walk Thru on your own . I need help so I asked Bob to help me , he was such a nice man and helped me with my selections . He put it all in the car for me and didn't even except my tip . That is true customer service . I would not recommend this greenhouse, despite their fine selection of plants. They had a Firebush that I had wanted and was happy to buy. Because North Carolina winters can be too cold, they advised me to bring it in. I intended to take good care of a plant I had really wanted. I set the pot out this spring and the plant died. I asked if they would replace it and they were adamant they would not. They told me, "...if everybody..." So I mentioned that it sounded like they had a lot of people returning their plants. He denied that he meant that. I told him that people didn't buy perinneals with a one-year plan and the hope they would make it. He was polite but implacable: "I am not going to replace it", he said. Don't shop at King's Greenhouse. I can't recommend them, their advice or their Firebush! read more

A beautiful outdoor nursery in Stallings. Kings Greenhouse has been a locally owned & operated business since the early 70's. It has just about any kind of vegetation that you need for your yard or garden. You could spend some time just wondering through the greenhouses and isles of plants & shrubs. I've been shopping here for years and have always been happy with my selections & results. It's not the cheapest place in town, but you get what you pay for! Just a quick note to say how impressed I was with not only the plants @ King's but also the knowledge, experience and general helpfulness of the staff there ... we were fortunate enough to work with Michael Lowe, the nursery manager / designer, and his thoughts and suggestions were invaluable during the selection process ... since I purchased a significant amount of larger shrubs, I opted for King's installation service (which comes with a 1-year guarantee) and, yet again, wasn't disappointed ... Phil Bauchard came out to install the shrubs (after checking in several times in advance to verify convenience of scheduling) and I spent the three hours it took to install everything chatting with Phil on a broad variety of topics and got some great info about my existing plantings to boot (needless to say, he's not just a "guy with a shovel" - he's got several horticultural degrees and was happy to share his knowledge) ... will absolutely be a repeat customer ... probably a good thing they're a 30-45 minute trip since I'd surely be tempted to visit more often than my checkbook would be happy with :-) read more

I am giving this place a one star because these are the rudest people I have ever come in contact with. I bought a large poinsettia from the wholesale greenhouse because my fiancé is in the landscaping business and took it by the retail shop and asked Lisa if she would wrap it for me. The wholesale business is not owned by the same people that own the retail business. I think the retail business rents the land from the wholesale owners if I am not mistaken. Anyway, She was rude from the start and told me she doesn't usually do that , but she would do it for a fee of $5. I told her that was no problem. I would be happy to pay the fee. I had another small poinsettia that I had also gotten from the wholesale business and without even asking, Lisa just took it and told me they gave me an ugly one and traded it out for one she had. I told her I had picked that one out and liked it and wanted it because in reality it was much prettier than the one she went and traded it for. I just thought it was very rude for her to just pick my poinsettia up without even asking me and go switch it out. When I told her I wanted mine back she got an attitude with me and told me I could go get it off the counter. She then proceeded to tell me that she was sorry if it seemed like she had an attitude today... And that's when I got mad!! I told her she had had an attitude since I walked through the door and all I had asked her to do was wrap a poinsettia. I told her I knew she was only mad because I had not bought it from there, but it wasn't like I was asking her to wrap it for free. She was going to charge me $5 to wrap it and I also had another cute little plant sitting up at the counter ready to buy. She not only lost out on a past customer. She lost out on money for that day and a future customer that loves plants and would have spent a lot of money in her store. In the future I will take my money somewhere else to someone that appreciates their customers and knows how to be nice. I will never step foot back in this place again and I will tell my friends how I was treated and hopefully they won't shop there anymore either . Lisa..
