I had a very frustrating experience with king nails. I came in at 12:30, they said it would be an hour wait so i asked if i could come back in an hour as an appointment. they said yes. so i came back in an hour and they had about 7 people waiting well right when i walked in they got me seated and started working on my nails. well one lady was pissed that i walked in and was help so the man felt guilty and said i'll get you done fast. He did a very sloppy job. i have paint all over my hands. he wouldn't even let me get up to wash my hands after he was done filling because he was in such a rush. if he would just focus and paid a little more time to the customer he had in front of him then they wouldn't have gotten such a low review. read more

So, the lady. Idk what lady, fucked up my brows. It's worse in person. One is sooo much shorter than the other. It's super noticeable. I went, and noticed it had gone down since the last time I went there which was a couple years ago. The lady took about 10-12 mins on my brows. And this was the result. I was super unsatisfied. She waxed my brows then plucked the rest. I feel like their wax wasn't even working, since she went back and plucked so much. Anyways, wouldn't recommend it. Not even worth the 10 bucks. The convenience of this salon is that they're open every day of the week. I usually do pedicures here and they're not bad! The pedi area is in front of a large tv and they always have a large fan blowing for that nice cool breeze. The environment is really serene, good for when you really want to relax. My roommate has complained before that their pedis are only okay, however I've never had a bad experience with the quality of their pedis... But then and again I'm not so picky with my feet and I always do a basic simple color with no designs. The massage is only okay though. My hands, however, are a different story. I always do gel nails, and I'm very picky when it comes to getting them done, esp since I'm from Dallas. Their shellac removal technique is great, they do the soak and scrape off which is the correct way to remove gel nails, however when it comes to application, the man that I always seem to get (he has a bump on one of his eyes) is a little bit sloppy when it comes to painting gel on my fingers and cleaning them from the sides of my skin after. He also doesn't wait long enough while I'm under the UV light. (Not sure about other nail techs). All in all, it's not too bad of a job actually when compared to other nail salons like LA nails and Natural nails (I do not recommend any of those, they jump straight to drilling your gel nails off with the buffer machine! And even less wait time under the UV light!), however I would only do my gel nails here when the #1 place I trust getting them done at, Elegant Nails, is closed. I recommend gel nails at Elegant nails. Kings is a good runner up if you don't care too much and just really need your nails done that day. Or perhaps other nail techs might be of better service, since I only seem to get placed with the same one. Other than that, pedis here are not bad ($25 for basic pedi, $30 for deluxe which includes mud mask, sea salt, and hot towels)! And eyebrow waxing is pretty good too! I recommend that here actually, they take their time with shaping your brows after, which is great :). Kings for pedis and brows! Okay, let's be honest. I'm a runner with big feet with tons of callouses and thick nails. They are not pretty. Every time I come here for a pedicure, the nail techs work very hard to make my feet way less disgusting. And they always do. I think the price is fair. The techs a are nice. My feet look great. They lose points on not having soap or paper towels in the restroom on more than one occassion. I have never had to wait long as a single customer, but have waited a little while in a group. Not the cleanest-looking place but tools seem to be cleaned well (which is most important). I have only tried this nail salon because I have been pleased with each experience. Gel manicures also look great and last as long as I would like them to. read more

I was in need of a manicure and decided, on a whim, to Yelp the nearest nail salon. Note, I don't even live in Kingsville; so, I was hesitant to just let any stranger do my nails. But, they did an AWESOME job! The man who was there (apparently very popular because a few regulars came in to talk to him) was quick, very thorough and quite entertaining! So we were sitting there for an hour and someone else walks up says "what did you need" told him and then he says "did you sign in" I told him no I wasn't aware I had to...then he smacked his lips and rolled his eyes and took someone else!!!! The pedicure was just ok - hurried stylist, weak massage, incomplete callous removal, nail polish left on my skin. The eyebrow was also a waist as I still had to pluck when I got home. It was the extremely long wait prior to the pedicure that really ruined our experience. I called ahead and was told no appointments on the weekend so we walked in. We waited maybe 15 for a chair (that's ok, all the chairs were busy). But when we (there were 3 of us) finally got chairs we sat for nearly a full hour with the water getting cold and our feet pruney. I don't know what happened to all the stylists there had been one per chair when we got there, but now there were only 2 and there we sat, and sat, and sat... No one saying anything to us. What makes the time we spent there - supposedly relaxing - is the gigantic, in your face TV loudly playing horror films! No thanks! I don't watch that ever and especially not when I'm trying to relax and enjoy a girls day out. The prices were competitive, but the service was not; and at a time when most salons are providing wine, water, juice, soda complementary with the service, why is this place charging for cheap bottled water? read more
