Was a vendor several years at the (huge) Summer artisan craft show- when it only cost $35 to exhibit - now its like $150.. I've had a few picnics and dates mixed in. My son is now 33 And the park looks pretty much the same as first time I laid eyes on it. Kiddos can still play in sandbox & shimmy down the mini fireman pole..adjacent to the swingset..I would even come here- and ride my bicycle in rings around the lake ( 1.5 miles =1 lap)..doing laps & hustle my ride back up to Belmont Lake in N.Babylon..such good, great times. Also a great location for wedding parties - so parking can be tight. My fav memory is , when on a date, my son ( @7) accompanied me, my date & his dog, a female springer spaniel. Alongside the lake my son leaned in and whispered to the dog. I didn"t know what it was till later. He told her to jump in the lake - and she DID! It was like a comedy scene out of a Woody Allen movie..Trying to get the dog out - who was now chasing the ducks in water- my son laughing ! We finally cajole the dog out- now sopping wet . I was yelling at my son as we retreated to the south end of park - to dry off the dog- and 2- to ESCAPE the Killer Swans who were NOW chasing us all- down the path & trying NOT to get bitten. Somehow we outran them and we collapsed onto the benches & called it a day. This still brings smiles & laughs when we revisit the park. No the date didn't work out- but the laughter remains. :) Best time is at sunset..I loved coming here in Summer with a date, have a sunset picnic, some wine & enjoy the beauty. The park does close at sunset- but it is God's real gift to share. .

I've been coming to Argyle park for years! Family friendly, with a park for children, benches to…read moresit on, and watch the swans, and ducks, and the big circle around the lake makes for a nice walk! It's a well known photo spot for special occasions, as there are always brides, maternity shoots, sweet 16/ quinceañeras and engagement photos being taken here. They also have a 911 memorial, which is a lovely tribute. It makes for a nice outing with the family!

Heckscher Park is a beautiful park in the center of Huntington. On the other side of the pond is a very fun kids playground with matted rubber ground for safety and so many fun interactive activities. Street parking, public restrooms, and dogs are allowed. Community events and festivals are also held here making this park an all around great Long Island park.

The concert had many vendors but due to me working the event I wasn't able to mingle too much but I did enjoy myself. Aubrey at 9 is a star on the rise with her fresh squeezed lemonade and it was good, she also has flavors you can add to the lemonade. The entertainment was awesome, the stage was filled with known and unknown artists and they all did well, I really enjoyed the young girl singing "so easy". Tanner is an awesome park where you can bring the kids to play, take a walk/run, enjoy a concert orsit by the water and clear your mind.

This was my first visit to the park, and I had such a great experience! I came on a Wednesday…read morearound 5 p.m. to practice my pickleball serves on one of the handball courts. The park has two lighted pickleball courts and two lighted handball courts, which is a fantastic setup. The only downside is that they could definitely use more pickleball courts--there were so many players waiting to get in, which really shows how popular the sport is here. The park itself feels very well maintained, and I was glad to find plenty of parking. Even though I didn't see them on this visit, according to the Huntington.gov website the park also has two lighted volleyball courts, a skate park, lighted synthetic turf fields for football, soccer, and lacrosse, as well as trails, picnic areas, a playground, two Little League fields, and two comfort stations. With so much to offer, this park really has something for everyone. I'll definitely be coming back!

There are buildings throughout the park with plenty of bathrooms : CLEAN bathrooms! , There is also a small gift shop & Cafe that is open for " most" of the year . . You can definitely " Get lost" here , if that is a goal...and daydreami. There are wide open smoother paths as well as paved walkways & more paths you can track through the woods. There's different water displays with the river running throughout the park iWe got to see a few animals in nature. : a Hawk. Dear, chipmunks. to start. Any time of year this park is beautiful. S if you're in the area or even if you're not in the area, it's definitely worth the drive in the season. It's a MY Star park so they take the NYS EMPIRE PASSPOET or pay cash at either entry . I know there are at least two ways to get into the park. With plenty of parking and again they only charge parking fees during peak season. Bundle up agates this weather breaks, it's good for you to get out there for fresh air and exercise in the dead winter. ( an you tell I am a mom? ) I love this place, I am just trying harder to try to see more of what Long Island has to offer as far as Parks & trails. Oh, at the beginning of one of the trails it had a sign and showed different plants and bushes. And we had identified all 10 of those even though it was I believe late November when we came here. This was my first visit to this park, and I came specifically to practice my pickleball serves on…read morethe handball courts. The park has two handball courts, eight pickleball courts, and three tennis courts. It was very clear which sport is most popular--on a Sunday afternoon, all of the pickleball courts were in use while the tennis courts were completely empty. There were many people playing softball, but no one was using the baseball fields. The soccer nets were available but not in use, and the basketball courts were also empty during my visit. A few observations about the facilities: * Dogs are not allowed in the park under the Town of Islip Code, unless special permission is granted. * The grass is well maintained and kept low. * I saw only one picnic table near the pool, which is currently closed for the season, but there were several picnic tables inside the closed pool area. * Visitors can bring a blanket if they want to sit on the grass during the colder months. * Benches are provided near the softball and baseball fields. However, there is no seating near the pickleball or tennis courts, aside from benches by the nearby baseball field. Overall, this park offers a variety of recreational facilities and is a good location for outdoor activities. The most needed improvement would be the installation of additional seating near the pickleball and tennis courts to better accommodate players and spectators. It's worth visiting if you enjoy pickleball, softball, or simply want a well-kept outdoor space.
