I have been in the enrollment process here and all I can tell you is they suck at communication they post numbers and emails all over the website but never answer any of them or call back then they have zoom likes for "virtual walkins" and they don't answer those either. I feel like they try so hard to be organized and it's just a big mess. I was given the link for class registration and then when somebody did answer they said it was appointment only so here we are 2 days later with an appointment at 2 today and I'm still waiting to be let in the damn zoom at 2:30 it has been an enraging process trying to get any information with this school. For wonderful tenderloins 50 and over they offer a variety of classes to tickle your fancy. For example, swimming lessons, underwater aerobics,Zumba gold, jazz dance class, chair pilates, yoga. The list us endless and extremely reasonable prices. All courses are open to men and women. The majority of the classes are with women, but there are a few classes that men attend. I am a transfer student who was admitted to Kingsborough Community College and from day 1 I have had troubles starting with enrollment, trying to reach advisors, and blackboard malfunctions! The financial aid office suspended my application for no reason claiming that I have 0 GPA so I I had to appeal. I can't possibly have a GPA as I have never studied in the USA plus the system malfunction threw me off the final test of a summer course and graded me the lowest, with the instructor nowhere near to assist me to correct this issue, I am very disappointed with this college experience and having double thoughts on whether to proceed with it or not, as the stress that they put you through is not helping with the educational goals of mine! read more

Beautiful campus outdoors, right on the water, excellent professors. My only complaint is the administrative politics. I wish the president would talk to people, rather than give a speech, mingle with only her close staff, and leave. I wish the WGS program wasn't de-funded. To that end, I wish they knew how to properly appropriate funds to best serve the students. I also wish that when I was accepted to the CUNY BA program, the administration didn't refuse to honor CUNY's policies regarding that program and force me out. They're so concerned about retention and graduation numbers, but they pushed out a 3.9 GPA honors student, who held national positions that could have helped the college in publicity and image. I was more than willing. I loved Kingsborough for its professors, the Access-Ability program, and the Honors department, and I'm so glad I went there. read more

During 2015 I took a veterinarian assistant class to get a certification and completed the course. When I was there I received no help or assistance towards finding anything, paid $630 dollars for two courses!!! The class was horrible and not what it was described!!! This is unacceptable!!! I contacted the professor from the class who completely told me she can't help me!! But you was willing to accept my $630 dollars !!! A bunch of crooks !!! Now I'm stuck with a certificate that I don't even know it's legit !!! read more

I went to Kingsborough Community College's auditorium to see an Argentian Tango and we had a lovely time! The facility is super clean!!

This school is in a nice location. The campus is beautiful. There's plenty of spaces to park on campus and in manhattan beach parking lot but you won't find much street parking. Like every school, there are good professors and not so good professors. The food is okay but nothing to rave about - bring your own lunch if possible. There are plenty of places to relax and get work done. The library is huge and has lots of charging stations. Overall the school is good. There's a diverse student body and plenty of clubs to join. read more

I went to Kingsborough Community College. i enjoyed my time in this school because i made lots of friends joined a bunch of clubs and i even graduated with honors. Kingsborough Community College also have wonderful professors, most of the professor i got was fair and very helpful. The campus is huge and Kingsborough have its only private beach. Majors: There is 50+ majors to choose from and if you are unsure what you want to major in just do liberal arts and dip your fingers in all the classes to find your passion. (My Major was Culinary Arts) Food: The Food they sell in the cafe is horrible and super unhealthy. but hey if you are in school and need something quick then the cafe food is your best friend haha. For those that have gaps in between classes there is a subways and pizza store in front of the school. Overall this school is great you are able to learn a lot and gain more knowledge. its great for people that didnt take the SAT and even that did take the SAT. What are you waiting for go register and apply for this school it wont disappoint you. read more

I am A CUNY girl at heart, but this campus is way too expansive and easy to get lost. I can guarantee you will get a workout having to walk from Point A to Point B. I don't even want to imagine the winter season on this campus, given its proximity to the water. I like the venue space available for non-campus related events, but hate that it's at a distant. The worst part is that there are no guards available past the entrance to give you additional instructions. Unless you are skilled at reading a map or a student is nearby, good luck. read more

They faculty & Staff are so messy they never know where to send you and if you if they do they sending you to the wrong office or person.. it's aggravating because it seems like no one knows what they doing or what to do with certain situations how hard is it to tell me if I will get charged for swapping a class why don't no one know the answer to that and why am I being directed to so many people I was told to go to finical aid, then finical aid told me to go to registration and talk to them then my advisor has to contact them directly.. it's aggravating been told so many different things by so many different no one is on the same page there at al read more

Hands down one of the best colleges! I'm currently enrolled in a graphic design and illustration major and I don't think I made the mistake of choosing to come here. Most teachers are nice and very willing to help out. One thing I do think is key is that if you're in a focused major, take advantage of your professors and get their advice and wisdom within the industry. As a design major, I've learned to take in criticism within my work, and I always welcome it from students and especially teachers! Other than that, the area is super nice and keeps upgrading. The ocean alongside is a great place to just sit and relax, do some reading and homework. I don't regret choosing this school! I was in Kingsborough Community College for about 2 years being tossed around until I had decided I needed a break. The "advisors" would tell me to take classes that were completely unnecessary and would then question me when I did take those classes. They would tell me to "keep on the straight and narrow" while they were pointing out a million other things. As someone who was not born being able to navigate a system like that I eventually got burnt. I've decided to go back just to finish the basic degree I'm on at this point so I gave them a call. As usual the representatives I spoke to were short with me and extremely rude to the point that when I said "thank you" at the end of our conversation the representative didn't even recognize that and just hung up. I called the school for one thing and all of the staff were very rude, spoke over me like i didn't know what i was talking about and transferring me from one department to other going back and forth because neither of them knew what they were doing. Only to tell me to come in just for them to tell me the same thing they told me over the phone, a complete waste of time. Kbcc is a pretty good college although there are a number of things that should be improved. Some of the staff is unprofessional especially in the registers office and math department. When you call most of the time they will transfer you to another department and a lot of the time that department will transfer you somewhere else because they transferred you to the wrong place so it sometimes takes awhile for someone to resolve your issue and sometimes it doesn't get resolved at all. Sometimes they provide you with the wrong information and at other times one hand doesn't know what the other one does. Thats sad because there are people there that are helpful and will try to assist you the best they can but then there are others that wont which effects the college as a whole. read more

Definitely love this college, it has a wide array of programs and financial help and guidance towards the next step in your college career. This college is very huge on their ASAP program, which saved my a** big time... some professors are major a**es and some I'll remember far into my career. I was a business major here and I personally recommend Rothenburg, Didia, and Saff. Classes were always engaging in a room with them. If you're considering baruch but got a cr*p GPA, go here as a business major then transfer. The relatively cheaper tuition goes far here. In the southeastern most building (MAC) you have 270 degree views of the ocean and the 8 floor of the L building which is the library has a 300 degree unobstructed view of the ocean (go during sunset ohmagosh). The only thing that I'd say is that the cafeteria is complete sh*t; but that's every CUNY, right? But to make up there's Subway and a couple other places that aren't a far walk. There are the b1 and b49 which is a quick transfer from the B & Q at either Brighton or sheepshead, the F train at Avenue X and McDonald Ave (B1), the N train at 86st street, and the D train at Bay Parkway and 86st (B1). This school is amazing. I am so glad I chose this school. I will be graduating in June 2016. I spent four semester here thanks for ASAP guidance and taking summer and winter classes. There is a lot of groups to join. The campus is spacious, safe and amazing. There is a gym, pool and many other stuff to keep you active. I wish this was a four year school. I'm going to miss it. The professor are good and fair in grading. Always check rage my professor before you choose a class. It's very accurate. I am in the mental health major. I think it's a pretty easy major for someone going back to school after a few years. Kbcc has been amazing to me. I have no complaints. I can do it all over again. A little advice, if you didn't past the entry exams. Please do yourself a favor and enroll in Cuny Start. It's $70 but you get to take all three remedial in one semester and get it out of the way. Because remedial in college do keep you back and delay you from graduating. And also enroll in ASAP. KBCC is hands down one of the best CUNY's in the city. Many people often look down on community colleges, shaming those who attend and viewing it as a step down, but I am here to tell you otherwise! This college gives people a second chance and actually helps you throughout the entire process. It's easy for everyone to get in because of the New Start program that is available and the regular admissions process which is super easy too. Once you are admitted, the school instantly gives you a date to meet with advisors who sit with you in discussing what courses you will be taking in the next two years. Most advisors in other schools view this as a chore, in my experiences at Hunter College I felt like such a nuisance. Of course in college it's easy to feel drowned out, but it's another to feel helpless and lost with no one to guide you even though that's what certain people get paid to do! Considering how prestigious Hunter is, my experience there told me a lot about the people who work there - lazy and just mean. Even the professors at KBCC are friendly and willing to accommodate to your needs. Professors are actually willing to understand that sometimes life comes up and try to help you overcome them while receiving an education, which I think many professors in other colleges seem to overlook. Professors often look at you as a number that helps them get paid. Here in Kingsborough though, you have help every step of the way, from the professors to the advisors and even from faculty members that handle various programs here such as College Discovery, New Start, ASAP, and the Honors Program. All you have to do is have an open mind and be motivated in finding the offices and looking on the school website. Not to mention, the school has programs such as the ASAP and College Discovery which give book stipends and metro cards. While the school also services their own free school bus to take students from campus to the train station and back, it's very economical. Downside to that though is the commute. I'm doing a program here and I have to commute all the way from the Bronx. I don't mind taking a train an hour and some change to get great education but from there you have to take the unreliable B1 bus, which is crowded almost every time, ten minutes to campus. And then you must walk another ten minutes to get inside campus, depending on what building your class is located. Not only that, but you have to carefully plan out your courses in a way where you are able to get to each one of them on time because going from building to building can be quite difficult. Due to distance and the inconsistent weather, the walk to your class can be affected. Even though campus is cleaned during snow, rain, any type of weather, if it is raining heavily one day and your class is all the way in one of the temporary buildings (T2, for example) and you are coming from the M building, it can easily take you ten minutes to walk there.. again, in the rain! The location is not the best, as you can see, and this affects the wifi because some buildings actually do not have wifi availability, M building being one of them. These are a few things maybe the school can improve on. Nonetheless though, for the amazing quality education, these issues seem minuscule when attending. read more

KBCC Taxi Institute is the best for all your TLC classes. It's cheaper than other schools for example their 24hr taxi exam is only $25 as opposed to $75 in other schools. Abel Zamora, the coordinator there, is the best he definitely knows the taxi/TLC industry and teaches very well so you can understand everything to give you a better chance of passing. I just finished my 24hr class and exam and I'm very happy, I highly recommend KBCC taxi institute for TLC. read more

i love this college! I have been in and out of kingsborough for several years and came back in 2017 steadily. All the offices are so helpful and the advisors are so kind! The classes are flexible depending on what your major is, I mostly take evening courses and they are a joy! The campus is beautiful and the library is outstanding. I will really miss this school as I am graduating this spring. I really wanted to do the nursing program here however, they do not offer evening classes for working students! Makes me super sad ill have to transfer but i would have LOVED to stay here thats how much i loved this school . I am nervous to be transferring somewhere else as now i have very high expectations after being at Kingsborough! People can say what they want about community college , but the services here, education and student care they provide will be hard to find. No matter how fancy a college is you cannot learn kindness and strong people skills through a book! Kingsborough excels at that:) read more
