Beautiful luxurious men's grooming hair salon. My husband has been coming here a few times and this time I came with him. It's very "manly" but in an inclusive luxurious place - think brown leather, wood, manly smells. My husband always goes to Nate, he was running a few minutes late today but we've never had any complaints and he was polite and apologized for being a little late. Lovely bathroom with a regular toilet, lovely design, cool sink. Very comfy huge leather sectional in the waiting lounge. Plenty of hangers. They had no problem with me hanging out and coming and going. Fun music. They sell some products but didn't get a good look. Cash only but ATM on site. Do not go here. It used to be fantastic, very professional. Now the with the staff changes, the scheduling is entirely unreliable, and the stylist cannot seem to find a way to arrive on time or check confirmations on the schedule in advance, and canceling last minute seems to be a pattern. Haircut is fine, but the current business model and communication is utterly disorganized. They're not thinking of their customer base at all. It's not worth the stress. Go to Liquid instead. Even if you have to wait, they're phenomenal. read more

The first thing you'll notice is how nice it looks. Inside is very well decorated. They always offer you a drink while you wait. Everyone there is friendly, everyone is always smiling and laughing. There's a family vibe throughout the shop. I highly recommend calling ahead to make an appointment. But I have seen people come in for walk-ins when its not too busy. This place is amazing. The staff is super friendly, they have beer and soda for free when you're waiting or getting your cut, and the ambiance is very high end. Ask for Juan when you go - big guy with silver hair and tattoos - he has given me the best haircut of my life every single time I go, and it gets better every time. The guy truly knows how to leave you looking fresh. Prices are fair. I pay $25 and leave a $5 tip, which seems like a good deal to have a killer haircut for ~6 weeks. read more

L Star has been my barber for the past 5 years, and he's always done an awesome job. He used to work at Rutgers Barbershop in Highland Park, but now he's opened his own barbershop in Milltown. It's fantastic- larger, brighter, plenty of space to hang out while you wait. There's a comfortable oversized couch, a humongous tv, plus good music. There's easy street parking right in front of the shop. Great service and conversation as always, and a haircut at a reasonable price. L Star has helped me evolve from a guy who used to buzz his own hair, to a man with a real hair style. I'd recommend him to anyone. read more

I have been using LStar since he was in Highland Park. He's the best there is. I was so happy when he opened his own shop. It is a great place, nicely decorated and very friendly. Since it was a drive I hunted around for someone nearer, but once LStar has cut your hair there is no equal. Go every five weeks and make my next appointment before I leave. Hands down the best barber shop I've ever been to! I made a same-day appointment with Vlad and he really took the time to listen to what I wanted. He gave me a great cut and I will definitely be switching over to him! The shop also gives out free drinks to its customers. It's $25 for a cut, which is not the lowest price you can find in this area, but I think the quality of the barbers and shop itself is more than worth the few extra dollars. Walked in for a beard trim with no appointment and I was gladly welcomed and was given the next open chair. When I saw that my appointed barber did not have any facial hair I kindly requested to wait for someone else. I explained that I was not trying to disrespect anyone but for a first time walking I didn't feel comfortable getting a trim from someone who didn't have facial hair. No one was offended and my request was excepted without issues. And I'm glad that I did because Terry my barber listen and gave me exactly what I was looking for. This guy quickly convinced me that I was at the right place with the right guy behind the clipper. Btw: The price was fair and the atmosphere was friendly. Will be going back again. read more

My long time barber retired about a year ago and since that time I've been searching for a new barber which hasn't gone well. I thought I found a new barber in town, had two so so hair cuts but not horrible. Third haircut was the worst haircut in my life. So on top of having a bad haircut I knew I wasn't going back to that guy so my unevenly cut hair was gotten much longer than it should be. I have driven past Kingsman's on occasion, so I thought I would give them a try. I booked my appointment online which was very easy, my appointment would be with Vlad. Today was the day, after checking in from my car I walked in and Vlad was ready for me. We went over what i was looking for and then he started cutting. We chatted quite a bit as he was cutting and after 10 or 15 minutes I happen to look in the mirror and I believe my response was 'Holy Sh*t'. Vlad completely blew away whatever expectations I had and it just kept getting better. Without a doubt the best haircut I have ever gotten by FAR. I was truly in awe, (yes over a haircut). - End of rant, I will be back. read more

I moved to East Brunswick a year ago and was hesitant about finding a new barber in the area. I did a search online and this place had great reviews so I figured I'd give it a try. They booked me with John Yim and I've been going to him ever since. He always gives me the cleanest fades and he's super friendly as are the rest of the staff. I have gone to one of the other barbers here too and he was just as good. On top of the great barbers it has a really cool atmosphere, nice decor, and they have beverages for their clients. I would recommend booking an appointment rather than going in as a walk in. Hopefully they open again soon because I can't imagine going anywhere else now. read more

Went here for the first time yesterday. Called around 9:45AM and asked for appt and was offered 3:45pm which worked for me. Was asked who I want it with so told the lady whoever it's my first time. Received a text message around 2:45 reminding me of my appt and that my barber is John. Showed up early and got great parking right outside the front of the shop. Walked into a wonderful shop and greeted by a young lady who was very nice and offered me a drink. I waited for about 20 mins (I showed up early). Sat down in the chair when I was called and had a great cut and beard trim. It was $35 for both. A little pricey but in my opinion you pay for what you get. I have a very tricky beard line to make even on both sides and John had no issue making my beard look flawless. Will return. Finally a great shop in town. read more

Got my first haircut here by Terry. Kingsman was recommended to me by word of mouth and I'm absolutely glad I came in to try. The decor is not your typical barbershop and it blends sophistication with an urban feel. The music is not overbearing and you can actually have a conversation with your barber, which I thoroughly enjoyed with Terry. The environment is so comfortable that you might fall asleep when you're getting your hair done - temperature, ambiance, the chair - everything was just right. They even have beverages. Terry is a master. He thoroughly faded my hair and even got my sideburns faded well! Terry gave suggestions on the fly and he was accommodating to my requests - never once did he rush me. Walk-ins are welcome, but just as a tip: I'd highly recommend getting an appointment ahead of time. The wait actually filled up pretty quickly. But don't you worry - you'll still get the attention to detail that you need with whatever service you get. I never felt rushed at all. Glad to highly recommend Kingsman to everyone. Not happy with the shave. Face was on fire after the shave and the nicks were painful. Would not go back for a shave. Been in many barber chairs in my time and this is one I would not recommend for a shave. Overall the place is nice, comfortable and friendly. Just don't ask for a shave. read more

Went for the first time yesterday. Great atmosphere and great haircut. I've been in sales for 15 years. The one thing I know about sales is selling yourself. I do not remember my barbers name. I had to shake his hand. He NEVER gave me a card. He didn't try to schedule my next appointment. Weird. Sick haircut though. The shave was a bit odd because there was no hot towel to open my pours. The shave cream was cold. After the shave he used an ice cold towel to wipe off my face. Didn't offer me any product your shop sells either. Odd but beard looks great. I even tipped the dude $15.00 on a $35.00 cut. despite the oddness. I would like to make another appointment but don't know his name. Great looking place and has high expectations but all I gotta say is Meh. This is based on my one and only experience with one barber. I've read the other reviews and I wish I tried someone else because I might've had a better experience. I told the barber that I had cowlicks and not to go too short and buzz buzz buzz went his electric razor and now I look like a porcupine! $25 wasted! So I'm hoping the beard and shave would be better, cause who doesn't love a shave with a straight blade? Guess what, he shaves with a straight blade followed by an electric shaver! Yes, an electric shaver. Who does that? And why? Cause he couldn't shave against the grain, he says. My skin wasn't smooth enough. What? Keep in mind, I get my beard done professionally every other week with a straight blade. Here's a tip, don't use a barber with little or no experience (this guy had 2 years, plus 'cutting hair in highschool'). And don't wait till 2/14 to get a haircut like every other guy in town! Good news, hair grows back. Bad news, won't be going back. I'll stick to my guy in Edison, who I waited for 2 hours that day but just could wait any longer. read more
