I thought I would give this place a try because the reviews sounded like a good fit. I booked an appt with George and yesterday was the day. Walked in, waited for my turn, got in the chair and explained what I was looking for. He summarized and very confidently went to word. I called to schedule and they directed me to their website. At first I wasn't a fan. But it was pretty easy to see all the available times and to pick the most convenient one for me which was actually within 20 minutes of me looking. You got to do stuff when. The kid goes down for a nap and my wife green lit the hair cut. I got there 10 minutes early and they were able to take me a few minutes early which I appreciated. The guy who cut my hair was good. He was young looking but he did a great job. He did a lot of attention to detail with my beard and whipped out a straight razor to clean up my brow a bit. I thought the prices were affordable and the shop was clean. Added bonus for Rutgers students they have a discount which is always nice. In about 30 minutes I was transformed from possibly homeless to stylin. And located on George Street in New Brunswick is pretty central. Worth checking out if you need a hair cut.

My barber Joan (pronounced Joe-Juan) has been my barber throughout that time. He is very detailed and consistent with his craft. Haircuts are $25-30, which is very reasonable for the detailed service they provide. I am always pleased with the results. He speaks some English but mostly Spanish. Luckily I speak Spanish pretty well. He even invited me over to a makeshift haircut parlor in his house during the pandemic.
