This is the place for you!…read more We went there as a small group and got wristbands for unlimited rides for the day - we arrived there at 11am and the place was pretty empty- so a brilliant time to try as many rides as possible with no queues!! We had a break at lunch - the sun was shining so we enjoyed ourselves in the courtyard in the middle where the stage and giant screen were. There were 3 food vendors- we tried 2 of them. For both of them the food was nice, fresh and tasty. 1 bar was open (no queues so no need to open another one at the same location, but the amenities are there for the high season), not a super wide range but everything was decent and prices were reasonable for a theme park / venue by the sea. After lunch, as the sun was shining there was more people, but still didn't have to queue for any of the rides. We went to the indoor arcade as well - there is also an indoor roller disco. Looking at the ceilings, it's not the best view- clearly it needs a bit of renovation. Within Dreamland , there are a few toilet facilities, all of them were clean. Good news - new water ride coming in July!

The downside is that they don't sell ammo (although it's available 5 minutes down the road) and there's no formal coaching programme, so I'd say it's probably best for people who have a bit of experience or those who want to learn but don't need a huge amount of hand-holding. The great news, however, is that unless my memory deceives me I don't think they charge for tuition, so it's a great way to try out a great sport at an affordable price before you commit yourself to anything more serious.

Nice and quiet beach - dog friendly at dusk…read more A very short stroll away from the town Centre is the great Stone Bay. I liked it better than Viking Bay in town. It is a very lovely beach, bigger than Viking, but also a lot more quiet. It is backed by a long array of colorful beach huts. It is mostly a family beach during daytime and gets more quiet after 6pm. That's also the time when dogs are allowed to run free. Besides that you are allowed to BBQ after 6pm ON the beach. At dusk you have the beach pretty much to yourself. We visited in high season....and it was quiet.Of course for our dog it was heaven. Played a lot and met lots of doggie friends. Just make sure to pick up your dogs "business" pls. We enjoyed this beach, the sun....the quiet. Surely a must-do when in town, especially as a dog-owner.

The Crab and Winkle Way is a cycle path / walking route from Canterbury to Whitstable following the…read moreold 'Crab and Winkle' railway line route. It passes through a bit of town and then the university campus before heading out over countryside and farmland. It takes aboiut 3 and a half hours to walk the route and because its a cycle path you do have to be prepared to give way. Nice route, quite interesting, but no facilities whatsoever.

The Q&A sessions help educate kids about endangered species and the parks effort to preserve the ecosystem. Unfortunately, the message seems to end where their own setup is concerned. The vegetarian food options are terrible, the slushies come in throw-away plastic containers and condiments are individually packaged. The worst, however, is getting there: if you go via public transport, you are facing a daunting 500m walk on a country road with no sidewalks. We literally had cars queuing up behind us. This just sends a terrible message: yeah, we are preserving rhinos but we cannot be bothered to support public transport at home. The park desperately needs to work this out (maybe get the council involved).

I love this wildlife park it is my favourite places to visit to see and interact with animals and to watch the otters train and listen to the talk. Wingham is a lovely zoo with many different animals from otters to lions, it's a very clean zoo, well laid out, has great areas for picnics next to lovely ponds/lakes, great play areas for kids and staff are always very friendly and happy. The animal enclosures are all very clean and most of the animals look happy. I especially love the otter areas. At present there are baby otters so adorable. The only caged areas I don't like at Wingham is the big cat enclosures I feel they are too small and has not got enough climbing frames/trees for the big cats to enjoy so they do not seem very happy in particular the jaguar but their enclosures are very clean. But saying this about the cages least for instance the lions that where rescued from a circus has got a much better live now at Wingham. Also I feel that perhaps the penguin enclosure needs a update perhaps make it more of beach type area like London Zoo however penguins do seem very happy though in their enclosure and they have had many baby penguins over the past couple of months even the gay penguins brought up a baby penguin that they adopted, so cute. At this zoo you can also interact with quite a few of the animals from feeding (food at a cost) wallabies, goats, reindeer, koi, meerkats etc. Amazing. You can also interact with snakes, spiders and lizards at certain times. They also have many animal experiences that you can pay from such as a penguin encounter. I done a ring tailed lemur experience and it was the most amazing animal experience I have ever paid for and I have done quite a lot of varied animal experiences. The lemurs jump all over you for their food (bananas and carrots). It was amazing I had them on my head, bottom of my legs, on my back just everywhere. I will definitely be doing the lemur experience again next year. The keeper was also very nice and very knowledgable so she made the experience ever more of a joy. As I mentioned before I have visited Wingham time and time again and would still do I highly recommend a visit to anyone.
