As I was driving to work this morning, I hear this really loud noise coming from my car that stardled me and I pulled over to see what it was and my muffler pipe was detached. I then proceeded to Kinney's muffler shop to see if they can get it welded and I over heard the owner talking with a customer saying they only go by appointments, by which they schedule for a couple days out. I explained my situation to him and when he saw the severity of the situation he took me in really quick to weld my muffler, and the best part about it was he did it free I'd charge! I took my 2016 BMW 750M to Kinney's to purchase and install a custom cat-back exhaust system. It is virtually impossible to find any aftermarket parts for the 7 Series. Currently, I have installed Project Gamma downpipes coupled with a Stage 2 tune. The factory exhaust was too restricted so, prior to taking my car to Kinney's, I had already removed the resonators and catalytic converters. Problem was the sound wasn't refined. It sounded good at idle and under WOT (full throttle) but anything in between sounded a bit raspy. Overall, it didn't sound bad but it wasn't the sound I was going for. I called up Kinney's and spoke with Jesus who's been employed there for 24+ years. Jesus and I went over everything over the phone before I scheduled my in-person consultation a week later. Both Jesus and Kirk (the owner) performed a walk-around explaining, in detail, everything they'd be doing before giving me a price. They were completely transparent so I proceeded to leave my car with them so they could get started. Over the next day and a half, Jesus tore out my old exhaust system and custom fabricated a cat-back system to perfection. Their custom system included high flow racing catalytic converters by Magnaflow as well as their own line of mufflers - Street Demon Performance mufflers. In addition to installing a custom exhaust system, Jesus was able to keep my exhaust "active", which allows me to control my own notes depending on whether I'm in Comfort mode or Sport Plus mode (which then becomes straight piped). I couldn't be more happy with the sound and quality of their work. This business is among the few with their elite level of customer service, knowledge and expertise as well as craftsmanship. I had been considering changing the stock exhaust on my 2015 Lexus RC F to something a little more sporty. Today, I took that action. I traveled from Houston to Fort Worth to Kinney's Muffler Shop. Prior to a couple months ago, I knew nothing about Kinney's or Kirk Robinson, the owner. For way of background, Kinney's has been open for 42 years and owned by Kirk Robinson since 1996. Kirk has been working in the custom exhaust business since he was 16. Today, he helped me select a new system for my car. He walked me through several options, discussed the benefits of each. It allows you to get a real good feel for how your car will sound. After I finalized my selection on an exhaust system, Kirk showed me a number of different exhaust tips to get the best look. I am more than happy with my purchase and experience at Kinney's Muffler. Told them what I wanted and they listened. I'd talked with other shops and said I want performance over sound and other shops were just replacing all the factory restrictions with more. Kinney's Muffler said ok we'll remove this, and this, and use a free flow muffler. No it doesn't sound as tough as it could, but I'd rather have the go than the show! This shop is a diamond in the rough. I called them to see if they could do a custom, simple straight pipe with flanges for an aftermarket muffler that I installed on my 90s sports car. They wouldn't fabricate the custom part without having the car in order to make sure everything was done the correct way, but when I asked if I could fabricate the part and have them finish weld everything they said no problem. All I needed was a short 6 inch piece of straight pipe. They offered to give me the pipe and I bought the flanges off of Amazon. I simply cut the pipe to links and tack welded on the flanges. I took the result back to the shop and they welded it all airtight and did a great job. When I went to pick up the part they told me no charge. They were happy to do a small job for free in order to earn a customer. That's smart business. read more

Jesus, the manager, was incredibly nice and knew his stuff. They had the new system in stock so I just had to drop my truck off and that was it. I went to Kinney's to get help installing a device to protect my catalytic converter from theft. Imagine my surprise when the technician, Jesus, told me I didn't need to do it saving me $150! I have 2 catalytic converters in my car one hidden around the engine and the other easily seen. He told me a thief would only get $20 for it and they usually would not bother to steal it. If so replacing it would only cost around $100 not the $1300 I saw on line. I really appreciated his honesty. Since it is hard to find a company that is so honest I wanted to review them so other people would go there. Even though I didn't spend any money he even put air in my tires because he noticed they were low! I'm a few months late on this review but better late than never. Took my truck in first thing and had true dual on it with Black ceramic tips in 3 hours. I hung out with Kurt in the lobby while they did fast work, and more importantly GREAT job on my truck! Jesus gave me a great quote and after the work was done, hung out to share stories and even gave me advice about my truck's transmission and when to go to get that looked at as well. What a great experience! This is definitely the shop to go if you have any exhaust system needs! They are extremely friendly and know a lot about what they're doing. Freakin thieves stole my catalytic converter off of my truck on Friday. I called Kinney's through a friend's recommendation. I talked to them on Saturday morning. I had a hole developing in my muffler, and found Kinney's through a google search. I am very impressed with their service, and the owner Kirk was fantastic to work with. He talked over the process over the phone and gave me a preliminary quote and made me an appointment. When I brought the truck in, he was ready for me and got it up onto the lift right away. I was in and out with a new muffler in under an hour. Kirk does a great job communicating the problem and what they'll do to fix it. My 1969 Buick GS 400 Stage 1 needed a new muffler, and after talking to several other dealers and mechanics, every single one of them recommended Kinney's if I wanted the best work done. They were completely right. A perfect job done on the exhaust pipes, and the exhaust tips he suggested really went well with the body style. That mean rumble is a great addition to a classy muscle car, and while it isn't over bearing at all, the sound is certainly aggressive. This place looks like it does amazing custom work. Sadly, I have a 23-year-old van! The mega-chain muffler shop up the street wanted $392 to install a new muffler and tailpipe, AND they needed to order the tailpipe. Kinney's did it in 45 minutes for $226! Order a new tailpipe?? Hell no, take a piece of pipe and bend it and make your own! I would take my car back there in a heartbeat! read more

Just have to say I'm totally glad I was referred to this place my service engine light came on and it turned out to be my catalytic converter. I went and Kirk talked me through the whole process gave me the fix it now and the fix it long term version and prices. I had the chance to listen to his interactions on the phone with other customers before he got to me an I could tell he was a straight shooter he gave me very in depth details of the work he could do for my issue. Long story short my catalytic converters were replace at 2300 dollars cheaper that the dealership prices my service engine light went off an I was able to pass the state inspection. I will totally be recommending this place to my friends and family who need muffler work or just want their truck to sound like a beast they have a YouTube channel that you can go to to see past projects. I again can't say enough about this experience far to often you need work on your vehicle and guys tell you your flux capacitor needs to be replaced I didn't get any of that here glad to know honest mechanics still exist. Kinney's has by far some of the BEST customer service I have ever experienced. I showed up without an appointment after finding out that my car had an exhaust leak. I was greeted by Jesus who told me that he could have the car completed by noon the next day. I was quoted $2000 for the repair at the dealership but Kinnys was able to do it for $220. Needless to say, I'm tickled to death! My car is an 08 and I don't think it's sounded this good since the day I bought it. I am more than thrilled by their quality of service. They did such an awesome job that I am strongly considering having them put a new exhaust on my 370z. Thank you Kinneys! read more
