Last time I came here was in October, and I saw Singing in the Rain (absolutely fantastic by the way). We saw a 7pm show on a Thursday and did not experience any of the complaints I see my fellow yelpers having (standing in line to get in ect). I was actually happy to see that they had a mandatory coat check, although I felt it was unnecessary to charge us 30NOK per jacket. If it is mandatory it should be free, at least that is my opinion. Either way, the price was not to bad, it was just annoying to pay. Other than that "checking in" was no problem if you show up 30minutes prior to the show as your ticket calls for. Once inside there is a few bars where you can get snacks and drinks. Personally I did not find the prices to appalling. 480NOK for a bottle of bubbles is just as much as any other bar in town. What pleasantly surprised me was that we could bring our wine and snacks into the theatre, and we even got a cure little icebag for our wine. It is safe to say I had an excellent time drinking, eating popcorn and watching a fun musical! Also during the Singing in the Rain show (not sure if all shows allow this) we were able to take pictures. There was even a little instagram competition going on. Love - love - love that they keep it young and let people take pictures. I was just so mesmerized by the show that I completely forgot to take out my phone, but it honestly did't even bother me that other people had their phone out, at first I thought it would, but it really didn't. The waiter is very knowledgeable when it comes to wine - I would suggest asking for recommendations. If you want an unforgettable evening; just sit down and leave the rest to the waiter. Super cool modern booking system for us foreigners: Order a ticket online, print it at home and they will easily grant you access. There's a good selection of drinks available at the bar - expensive of course as Norway simply always is. But it's worth going: small venue which allows you to watch the stage pretty well, alright acoustics and a funky crowd. As an additional plus the area around is handy for a pre-show drink, too. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm, and the service is decent. The bathrooms are located in the basement, which feels like a workout after finishing a couple of pitchers. One of the steps are slightly higher than the others so watch out for that, I have all most fell down the whole staircase a few times. Either way, cozy spot down town Oslo.

The bartender informed us that it will take a minute because he needs to get cucumbers. Husband and I looked at each other in confusion - what kind of a dirty martini requires cucumbers? After some communication, the confusion was cleared and we received a well-made dirty martini. We also ordered a local beer (forget the name), which was ok. We were hungry by this time, so we ordered the Norske delikatesser which is a sampler of various Norwegian meats and cheeses. It is good for a light dinner, but nothing memorable. The ambiance of this place is interesting. It is a mixed crowd and the ambiance changes rapidly from many couples having dinner to a party scene after 10pm. A nice place for people watching and getting a drink before moving on to another place for dinner.

Kalveragu was veal rage with potatoes and it was delicious and filling. The portion was just right. The Shrimp Sandwich was light enough for this early in the morning, but filling enough to last several hours. Mussel with harrissa was bursting with flavor! Bread was perfect with it. Bookstore is on the same, but other side, of the ground floor level. By the time we were done with our "breakfast", I love that they serve real meals for breakfast, the outdoor dining area has been set up and was hopping with locals catching up with friends... and their dogs too! The patio is full of flowers and shaded by trellises and umbrellas.

The bartender was nice and spoke English. I got the spritz and my mom got Mr. Hyde's Boulevard. Mine was refreshing. My mom's was pretty strong. Good atmosphere, but lacking something.
