If many of you are unfamilar with METV they are based in Chicago and deliver some amazing sitcoms that you probably grew up with but METV is even better than Nick At Nite because they keep it fun and family friendly. I actually discovered METV when my family was moving and my family fell in love with the lineup and I was amazed at all the different shows they have such as Mannix and Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Perry Mason. I had never even heard of METV before and I am so glad I discovered it and KYMB has done such an awesome job with METV and it was smart of METV to be shown in Salinas/Monterey because as a classic TV lover we need more awesome channels like METV and KYMB has the smarts to prove themselves well

For $20 you can become a member, then you take classes for about $20 a piece so you can receive your producer credential, your editing permits, camera access, etc. It's awesome. They do have guidelines, but basically you can put whatever you want on television. I think sometimes people are under the misconception that community TV doesn't matter. They couldn't be more wrong! A few years ago David Arquette came to Santa Cruz and did a segment on community TV and less than a month ago Darryl Hannah was on talking about the environment. And let's not forget Wayne's World. The staff at community TV are friendly and inviting, and are filled with advice, patience, and willingness to make your ideas come to life. In general, I think this is the best station in the SF Bay area. All of the anchors seem…read moreintelligent and I have actually enjoyed seeing their families, including Jeff's dog Lucy, during the lockdown. I think that the anchors are mostly neutral in their presentation of political news, but I also realize that in some cases they read aloud what is put in front of them and the writer's bias shows through. I notice errors in the way statistics are presented. An example was an evening report about California overtaking New York in total Covid 19 cases on 8-21-2020. They failed to mention that California has about 39 million residents and New York has about 19 million. In other words California has twice the population of New York, so saying that we are closing in on New York case numbers is factually correct, but is misleading. Perhaps Covid cases per 100k population would be a better metric, unless NBC news is just going for sensationalism. The weather predictions are spot on and I enjoy the mini tutorials on why the weather is what it is. The consumer help segment not only helps people get square with issues but also gives tips on how to avoid becoming a victim.
