Okay, so I rarely cheat on my preferred Mexican convenience store chain, but I will admit that I do like this Kiosko location in Mazatlan. If you need a quick pit stop for snacks, drinks, or the essentials while wandering this vibrant and friendly little coastal town, Kiosko fits the bill. It's a classic convenience store that I always seem to end up in whenever I'm walking around town.
His Kiosko is bright, speedy, and stocked with all the basics. I normally grab a cold soda (the refrigerator coolers aren't the coldest, so try to buy drinks that are kept in big bins on ice for the most refreshing beverages) and some Mexican chips or sweets that are not as easy to find in the U.S.
While the staff doesn't speak great English (I mean, I wouldn't expect them to and neither should you - always try to break out your best Spanish speaking skills), they're usually friendly and helpful. They do really, really hate it when you attempt to spend larger bills, and sometimes I've been flat out refused when trying to spend larger denomination pesos. It's best to go with smaller bills and exact change.
Kiosko is not a gourmet market, but when you're craving a cold drink after a hot walk along the Malecón (or just need a pack of gum or mints after too many tacos with onions), this place gets the job done with zero fuss. Practical, straightforward, and perfect for a quick grab‑and‑go stop in Mazatlan. read more
