The shops at RTC have special sales, laying out a few tables on the outside. It's definitely a fun time to visit I always go on the last day towards the later hours when the art is done. Be patient as you stand in line to take picture sitting or standing on the 3D art and simply take photos of each. (So rude when people just cut in line to sneak a photo!) Sometimes, the artists are still hanging out, having their photos taken with the art by the professional photographers. Say hello and thank them! Plenty of party at the mall parking lot.

It's awe-inspiring to watch these artists sweat and toil under the blazing sun for three days to compose these masterpieces! The 3D pieces are also cool, and there is usually a spot for you to stand or sit at to be a part of the picture! As with any other festival in the Redmond Town Center, there are plenty of other things to do: live band performances, a sidewalk sale, and children activities. Free parking at the garage too.

But my visit here the past weekend wasn't for that. It was for the Oddmall which was held here. It seems like lots of other special events occur when the fair is happening here. The Oddmall is an eclectic assortment of merchants all under one roof primarily made up of artists, glass makers, exotic taxidermy, painters and merchandise that has been repurposed. There is a lot of items here that would appeal to someone of a Gothic nature or retro kitsch type of fare. I loved the repurposed lamps that were here and I was highly intrigued by the exotic taxidermy. I bought a small painting that I was thrilled with while Steve purchased some home made beard oil. I walked up the aisles of the odd mall several different times and each and every time I saw something new that escaped my eyes previously so it definitely kept my interest going. A really fun event and this was my second time to an Oddmall as I went to one in Tacoma years ago and had a blast there as well!

I am a 4h horse rider here and I love it here. But it is sad to see how ppl who come top the fair…read moredon't come to see the horse shows. As a 4h kid to me its important to regain the history of the horse shows at the fair. It just makes me sad to sad not a lot of ppl go into the fair and just skip over the horses here..so if you plain on going to the fair PLS come and watch the 4h horse shows or just come and walk in the barns and see all the horses :D

Wow a big party in this fun town! It is a celebration of summer in Duvall. This small city has the…read morespirit of a town. Everybody knows each other, they like buying local, and are friendly. Located in the Snoqualmie Valley, they have the blessing of having everything near. They have plenty of different farms which brings special flavours like sunflowers, lavender, pumpkins, corn, goats, raspberries, blueberries, tallow. You name it! For this celebration they gather all vendors (art, food, schools, jewelry, etc) on Main Street right after the Parade. It is super fun starting with the Kids Parade, special cars, police, dancing horses, bands, Seattle Pirats, etc. They have activities by the park, and a race a day before. One of the most amazing things are fireworks at the end of the day. The feeling of being in a Community, just laying on the grass watching fireworks with everybody else, brings your inner child out just to relax and enjoy.

There are lots and lots of booths. Plenty of things to see, purchase, and eat along. We had some dumplings, lactose free dole (yaaay!), and cotton candy. Everything was great! I wanted some BBQ but lines were huge!!! We lost an hour for the cotton. Candy. Kids were playing in the meantime, but I suggest to keep an eye because there's gazillions of people! It is a fair!

Like any other festival that shuts down a large area, the parking is pretty crazy. I got there nice and early to find a good spot and walked about a mile. Overall good selection of vendors! Most of them were artisanal and not something you can buy from a direct-from-China shop. The food court had a lot of great options, and, of course the Kiwanis salmon BBQ. They also had a large field section with games for the kiddos and a water dog competition! There were lots of salmon going through the ladder, so that was nice to watch for awhile. Overall Salmon Days is a great festival to get out and do something a little different!

My first wine walk ever and it was so much fun! Old Bellevue is south of the Bellevue Downtown…read morePark. Fifteen businesses running along Main Street hosted twenty wineries. It is a great event that supports the local merchants and community. The walk ran from 5 PM to 8 PM. VIP tickets were $45 and granted an hour of early access starting at 4 PM plus small bites at four of the host venues. General admission tickets were $30 if purchased in advance and $40 at the door, although tickets were already sold out on the day of. Admission included twelve wine tasting tickets. Extra tickets could be purchased at $5 for an additional three. Registration was located at two places: 520 Bar & Grill and Zenrock Fitness. A plastic souvenir GoVino wine glass was given to use for the tasting. I had a VIP ticket and also received a wine carrier tote bag. Purchases could be dropped off at the Bottle Valet at 520 Bar & Grill. Wine bottles were sold tax free and had a $5 discount if two or more bottles were bought from the same winery. Bottles ranged from $10 to $60. Since snacks catered for VIP ticket holders only lasted the first hour, we tackled those places first. Even if not a VIP, a good number of the vendors provided offerings, such as charcuterie boards or chocolate, to pair with the wine. A few handed coupons or swag as well to promote their business. The VIP hosts were Zenrock Fitness, Bar Moore & Realogics Sotheby's, Whisk, and 520 Bar & Grill. Whisk was by far the best as it is a venue for cooking classes, followed by Bar Moore. As for the meet and greet with winemakers, it was quite the experience to learn and taste all sorts of wines I had never heard of before. We ended up visiting every place and trying all of the wineries. I am no wine connoisseur, but I could still distinguish the quality and taste of the wine. Structure Winery won as both of our favorites. Twelve tasting tickets for each of us was ample and we were there for three hours. Downtown Bellevue has street parking along with nearby public parking lots by the park. The area surrounding Main Street offers many various restaurants and retailers. The city has free Wi-Fi.

The food was definitely different, some dishes were surprisingly good and some were not my favorite but it was very cool to try foods from another time. I appreciated the ambiance of the dining hall and the cozy fire. We had fun singing and eating. My 8 year old generally enjoyed it but as noted, young children would struggle to sit through the feast. We will be back during summer to visit the village.

For $30+tax I receive my choice of 5 brew tastings, a souvenir glass and a $5 lunch coupon. Additional tokens be purchased for 3/$5. Credit and debit cards are accepted.This year there were about 18 local breweries on site. Some breweries sell their logo-ed t-shirts as well as their bottled brew. Bottle brew must be purchased as one is walking out the door. I applied my lunch coupon towards a spicy bratwurst topped with spicy mustard. There were three food options to choose from this year. Last year only one food option was available. While enjoying the tastings it's fun to rate the local breweries and enter the raffles. All the staff are volunteers so treat them with the respect that they deserve. I look forward to next years Brewfest. Love my brew and love my elders.
