On a nice day there is seating outside on the deck and in the garden. The flour, oatmeal and museli milled on site is available to purchase as well as local jams and biscuits.

We browsed around the retail, bought a couple things than sat and ordered a few different truffle flavors, hot chocolate and the ice cream. Everything was delicious! I was a huge fan of the ice cream even with the weather not being so warm. The white drinking chocolate was a bit too sweet for me, I would next time do the classic drinking chocolate but the white hot chocolate was tasty! It was not the most kindest place I visited, but it was good enough for a stop and also because the other place I wanted to go to was overcrowded. I got a ginger cake and Americano. The cake was a bit on the dry side and too sweet for me. Prices are on the higher side, but guess that's what you pay nowadays in Pitlochry. Oh yes, and only one toilet.

It started at 5 GBP for a single sampling of their whiskey, while flights started at about 20 GBP, so not exactly cheap. Still, the grounds were welcoming and the 12-year old Blair Athol whiskey sampled was decent. It's no Johnnie Walker, but still a fine Scottish whiskey. While whiskey tastings aren't something I'm really into, many in our tour group that went seemed to love the experience.

And then when we got there, I ended up getting a doblé scoop because they also have a "Scottish Tablet" flavor. I'm not even sure what that is, but it sounded Scottish, so I'm in! McKenzie's is a small little shop, and they offer other items besides ice cream, but that was all I was there for, so that was all I got. And I was very pleased with my selections. Rich creamy ice cream that absolutely hit the spot after a wonderful day of exploring beautiful Scotland. I think just about everyone from our bus went to the shop for an ice cream tree, but the service was very fast and they were friendly as well. I don't even know how to pronounce the town's name (Pitlochry), but if you ever find yourself in that region area, you should definitely treat yourself to a delicious ice cream treat!
