First of all, every experience I've had with the staff at this location has been professional and positive. I'm writing this review about an experience I had recently though. I had a question about a compound I had filled. Once I looked at the compound, I noticed an air bubble in the container. I was concerned that maybe the compound wasn't filled properly. I called and left a voicemail about those concerns Saturday evening. Jason called the following Monday morning to reassure me. He stated this happens from time to time during the compounding process. I felt a lot better after his thorough explanation. This was great customer service, and very much appreciated. keep up the good work guys! 1) I dropped off a prescription to be filled. The next day I get a phone call from Kirk's asking if I wanted the prescription filled. Huh? Why else would I bring you a prescription? 2) I pick up the bottle of 1 mg qty 30 capsules. I dispense these per the instructions on the label. 3) I bring in another identical prescription when the above capsules are gone. I verified with my doctor that both prescriptions were identical. Cut and pasted. 4) I get a phone call the next day asking if I want the prescription filled. Huh? Duh. 5) I pick up this second bottle of capsules and when I get home I notice the capsules are .5 mg, qty 30. I wasn't told they changed the capsule dosage. They looked the same to me. Same price by the way. 6) I call Kirk's and they say the instructions are to take 1 mg (2 capsules) for 14 days, then reduce dose to .5 mg. Hence the .5 mg capsules. Ok. Why was I given 1 mg capsules the first time? 7) The instructions typed on the bottle say nothing about reducing the dosage after 14 days. Kirk's admits the instructions they put on the bottle are incorrect. Was there an apology? No. Did Kirk's even appear concerned? No. So the first bottle of capsules were not taken per the doctor's instructions. The dosage was not reduced after 14 days per Kirk's incorrect instructions. The capsules should have been .5 mg not 1mg. The 2nd bottle of 30 .5 mg capsules was only enough for two weeks. I asked, "What if this medication was for heart or other critical condition? I could be dead." His response? "I don't like your tone." Yes. My tone had changed to disbelief and exasperation. He wasn't supposed to like it. I hung up at that point. Another thing I just noticed: most of the capsules of the second bottle are marked with what appears to be a Sharpie black marker. The marks are non-identical marks and some are not marked. If these are marks of a Sharpie, why would that be ok to ingest? Why are some marked and not others? read more

Kirk's pharmacy and all employees working are the best! They are caring and compassionate and have a way of making you feel at home. They know you probably don't feel good so they get you in and out as fast as possible. I've dealt with other pharmacies... Walmart, Rite-aid, Walgren's, and Costco, and Kirk's outshines all of them. Being a compounding pharmacy is a plus/. They seem to have medicines the others don't have. Pricing wise... I don't think there's a difference! read more

I've never used the home delivery service but my in-store experiences have always been top-notch. My prescriptions have been filled within minutes. The pharmacist that has filled them each time is very thorough and makes sure to tell me what I need to know and encourages me to call if I have any questions or concerns. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name; she is the lovely young woman with the accent. The sales associates that have handled my payment transactions are friendly and thank me for patronizing Kirk's. Overall, Kirk's is a great pharmacy. It's not a Bartell's or Walgreen's in that they do not carry all the various sundry items that the chain pharmacies do. Kirk's seems to be strictly prescriptions, custom compounding, over-the-counter medications and medical supplies. I plan on having all my prescriptions filled at Kirk's from now on. I like the feeling of a "personal touch" and being thanked for my business. Being thanked from just about any business these days seems to be non-existent and I certainly apppreciate Kirk's ability to take care of their customer instead of the customer being just another faceless purchase. read more

I LOVE KIRKS Downtown Tacoma! I recently had an insurance change requiring use of a mail-in pharmacy. It's been a NIGHTMARE. After weeks and weeks of trying to get refills, I was down to one day of important meds left. In desperation I called my trusty Kirks Pharmacy for help. The Pharmacist swung into action and saved the day. He even called my Doc to get a weeks worth of my prescriptions TODAY! Kirk's staff is pro-active, knowledgeable, patient and KIND. This location is now located downtown Puyallup which we found out when we called and needed directions. Yesterday and today was an in and out process for my medication. They transferred all of my medications without me having to do so and than today I was able to walk in and get what they transferred over from Walmart. They didn't activate my gift card and they contacted me and told me they didn't activate it,so they said to come in and activate it, but by the time they figured it out I has already given they gift card away ,so I told the person I gave it to to activate it and when she went in the refused to activate it.
