She explained that although their posted hours are 10:00-5:00, they "have to start locking the door and controlling traffic as the day ends." Interestingly, this contradicts the business's public response, which claims I "obviously came to [the] door after hours" and that no one saw or spoke to me. I was there before 5:00, and an employee looked directly at me while pulling the door shut and locking it. My complaint was never that they needed to stay open past 5:00. It was that I was prevented from entering before 5:00 without any explanation. Their private explanation actually provides context consistent with my experience, while their public response dismisses it entirely. I was also asked privately to delete my review and told, "I am sure [it] doesn't matter to you who you harm." I find that response particularly telling. Rather than simply acknowledging that the situation could have been handled better, the business chose to question my intentions and publicly characterize my experience as inaccurate. No one was there to accept them. The dock area was a complete disaster area, strewn with dumped stuff & downed signs. You couldn't even get to the door at the top of the ramp. A woman inside finally came out & mumbled something about everyone going on break at the same time before she helped take the boxes. I thought this might just be a one time issue with the dock. However, I was by there again a couple of days later & the dock was still an accident waiting to happen. It's an admirable concept but too bad it's not better managed. Friendly staff, this place has a little bit of everything. Boutique baby items, funny cards, lotions and sprays, high end PJ's, dresses/tops (Johnny Was), toy section for that last minute bday gift (Legos, books, other toys) and you don't want to go all the way into Bee Cave or Austin to get it. They also have a whole area in the back if you are in the need of reupholstering your house goods with many different fabrics and textures. We came during Christmas break so they had a seasonal section in the front of the store that was on sale post xmas. Plenty of parking, easy in/out as its right off 290.
