Retaining the moniker of "Kissing Rock" since Victorian times, these two massive slabs of granite along Ocean View Boulevard look very much like a couple kissing and was at one point dubbed by Life magazine as the most romantic spot in America. The view here is quite gorgeous and it's very peaceful with the waves crashing in the background. Plus there's a bench here as well if you want to sit for a spell. Public parking is available along designated areas of Ocean View Blvd.

Beautiful place to sit and enjoy the beautiful shoreline of Pacific Grove. There are a couple of benches here for you to sit and enjoy the views. There isn't a parking lot here, but you can park along the road on Esplanade Street across the street (Ocean View Blvd). This would be a great place to enjoy the sunset.

Love, love, love the ocean and Pacific Grove. Love the shops along Lighthouse Drive and our stay @ Lighthouse Lodge & Cottages.

Lover's point offers plenty of opportunities for the kids to get worn out, like a public beachside swimming pool, beach volleyball, an actual beach area just inside the cove, and a grassy area for picnicking. even though this beach/park was packed, the vibe was still super chill and didn't feel overcrowded. This beach also offers some great opportunities for people to enjoy tide pools, watch wildlife, and take-in gorgeous views. There is a public bathroom here, but if you can avoid. Not the most clean.

There were not many people out around 11a, as the day went on both sides of the beach filled quickly. There were three places on site to grab a bite to eat, caffeinate or cool down from - Creama (6:30a-2:30p), Lovers Point Beach Cafe (9a-4p) and Snack Shack (10-6). There was a clean, public restroom for men and women to the left of the cafe. Look for the yellow awnings and follow it to the black gates. Turn into that area and you will locate the restrooms. There is a volleyball court directly across from the beach, two sandy beach areas separated by a tall wall of rocks. The beach area furtherest from the parking lot had so much sea life to experience first hand - our daughter was amazed as were we. It was also quieter with fewer people using that side. There are 15 steps leading down to each beach area. The wildlife is everywhere and SO comfortable with people. A squirrel stood in front our daughter while she ate her cracker, a seagull stared at me while I opened a wrapper for our daughter. There was a parking lot that fits 20-30 cars and street parking. People were still arriving around 5p looking for parking in the lot unsuccessfully. I would definitely recommend arriving early to secure a parking spot and a preferred spot on the sand. Our daughter existed here for six hours and was still not ready to leave. She's a young one. There were lots of kids on the beach, most playing with each other and sharing buckets, shovels and seashells. We will definitely return before the summer is over. So breathtaking and fun for all ages to enjoy in and out of the water.

This is a beautiful area to walk your dog, and we met many dogs along the way. We found out that it's not a great place to bring a stroller because of all the tree roots. You cannot walk very far in any one direction because you will come upon a road on all sides of the area. And yet, it is still possible to lose your way because there are many paths, and they are all unnamed. Also, there are no signs to direct you. (I saw another review mention trail markers, but I did not notice them.) I am embarressed to say that I got turned around and thought our car was one way when it was actually the opposite way; this was a rare occasion in which my husband was right. LOL.

The trails wind through lush, dense greenery that makes you feel like you're walking through a secret forest. The trees are everywhere, and they provide the perfect amount of shade for a nice afternoon hike. The best part is that it is extremely dog-friendly and my dogs absolutely LOVE it here! Not only are dogs welcome, but they can roam off-leash as well! It is never super packed and it's such a peaceful trail to get in nature, yet its so close to the city! Parking nearby is usually available, though it gets busier on weekends. I honestly can't say enough good things about Lynn Rip Van Winkle Open Space! It is on my must-go-to places if you are in the Monterey area, and if you are looking for a peaceful spot to go for a walk and take your dogs! Highly recommend!!

I love that they have so much nature areas that the kids can run and climb on besides the playground. They also have a basketball court, tennis court and basebAll! Downside: bathroom is not clean but I know I shouldn't expect much from a park. Best part: little library right next to the tennis court. It also has a lot of trails! We saw 2 deers too!!! There is a playground for 2-5 year olds right next to a playground for 5-12 year olds. Across the grass from the playgrounds, there is a baseball field, with a basketball court next to it. On the other side from the playground are some very quiet tennis courts. Plus there are bathrooms, benches, and a fairly large picnic area up above. Also, there's walking paths around it and a canyon behind it. We took my dog today and did not see any No Dog signs, except understandably, on the baseball field and in the tennis courts. You should definitely keep them on a leash though because there are squirrels and other wildlife (deer, birds) in the park. Plus the park is surrounded by streets.
