Food is delivered promptly, and your coffee cup will be refilled. The service is outstanding and competent. One reason is that many employees have worked there for over 10 years, and many for over 15. I am now a regular and visit once or twice a week. P.S. Well, as I said, a few months ago, I decided to try the new restaurant occupying this classic downtown space on Broadway. I was relatively optimistic as I entered the restaurant with a friend. We selected a booth with an excellent view of the then operating dry cleaner across the street. I chose as my meal a basic breakfast staple: French toast... So, nothing fancy, like Eggs Benedict. When my French toast arrived, at first, I thought the waitress had brought the plate to the wrong table, because I did not really recognize the food on my plate as French toast. Well, when questioned, the waitress admitted that the plate she brought to my table was in fact the order I had placed. So, I settled in and began to eat the food on my plate. It resembled in some ways French toast, I suppose. But, in critical ways, related to texture and taste what I tried to eat was not French toast. Rather, it was somebody's idea of a concoction that built upon the concept of French toast. Perhaps that was a good artistic idea, but it did not satisfy my need for French toast. I would give a ZERO star if I could!…read more I went to Lori's for the first time yesterday and will never go back. My daughter and i went there for breakfast. My coffee cup had lipstick on it that i thoroughly wiped away and wiped it with alcohol wipes from my car. Already, my initial thoughts were negative. As we sat in our booth near the front door we looked around. Their booths are very aged and in horrible condition with ripped seat covers. We then got our food. It tasted 'ok' to say the most. About an hour and a half later our stomachs started hurting and cramping very bad. We were on our way home about 45 miles south of kankakee and I had to use the bathroom. My daughter waited for me in the car for about 20 minutes while I dealt with explosive diarrhea. I will NEVER return to this place and i recommend you think about it too before you just go there. As of typing this review I am waiting for labs to come back. If it comes back as food poisoning I will be filing a lawsuit against the establishment for both negligence AND breach of warranty.

Parking in front, and I am pretty sure parking is available in back. The decor is modern urban with a neighborhood feel. The server was on his first day. He brought our drink orders and took our orders. I ordered the Country Road skillet. The gravy and cheese underlying the eggs made for an exquisite flavor profile. My son ordered the incredible hulk omelet. Massive portion, but he ate the whole thing. Really really good meal. The little added goodness for me personally was that they had "Mixed Fruit Jelly", lacking in so many similar restaurants. Kudos to the Garden Berry!
