He is unprofessional, unable to treat patients with kindness or respect and will ridicule you for taking anxiety or depression meds. As a 19 yr old in late 80's I had a very disturbing experience with a male gyno. I vowed I would never have another male gyno. Fast forward to 2025 and I have lichen sclerosis. I had a Dr who diagnosed me in 2021. Then the medical group did away with an OB/GYN specialist. Next I am seen at Naval Hospital ob/GYN a very nice captain there summer of 2024. However I was her last patient prior to her retirement. Then NHB did away with their OB/gyn specialist clinics as well. I was very apprehensive going to see the Dr that I was scheduled to see as he was a male. But beggars can't be choosers in Kitsap county. I had an urgent case and the other clinic didn't have anything until September. Long story short the male Dr I saw was AMAZING!! The staff within the clinic, Poulsbo office, were amazing. I highly recommend Dr Aaron Swenson at the Bond rd Poulsbo Clinic. I also have severe panic/anxiety disorder and the dr and the rest of the staff were so friendly and nice. Spent my entire twin pregnancy care here at this clinic. I should have asked for a different OB after Dr. Marriott used hand sanitizer as lubricant for one of my ultrasound's. She did not give me any good information on what a cesarean delivery would be like. My birth experience was traumatic after the delivery because of my post-op symptoms. She did NOT tell me that she would be completely cutting out my fallopian tubes either, I asked for tubes to be tied but did not know that was the way they practice tubal ligations now. I was made aware afterwards at my 6 week appointment. I felt like I was a person that did not matter to this clinic to this day. I will not be returning to Kitsap Obgyn, ever again. read more

In the beginning of my pregnancy they made it difficult to be seen, during my pregnancy they were always running late, and at the end of the pregnancy they didn't take my high blood pressure or my constant migraines seriously. Dr. Hebard sucked. "She's one of the best" then why did she ignore the signs? I had my baby at 37 weeks due to pre eclampsia something they had missed. Ended up having an emergency c section as well. Everytime I walk into this place my mood shifts as they ruined my first sons birth "you can have a regular birth next time" I could've had a regular birth but unfortunately you guys ruined it. From telling his patients that postpartum is not an issue, and hanging up the phone on me while I am in tears describing my pain to him, the on call doctor. Absolutely love Kitsap OBGYN and will shout it from the rooftops. I travel from Port Angeles to be seen here. I had troubles for years, and doctors who didn't have a clue what was going on. within 15 minutes of being in Kitsap OBGYN I had answers, and we started working on a game plan. Dr Zapata was my first doc here, and when he retired I switched over to Dr. Swenson. I've only ever had amazing experiences with them! Dr. Swenson did my Hysterectomy back in March 2023, and it was absolutely flawless. Easy surgery, easy recovery, he personally called 4 or 5 times after my surgery to check up on me and answered my questions. When we got the biopsy results back he called and went over those with me within an hour of me getting a message in my mychart that results were in. The quality of care is top notch. read more

Amazing staff here at Kitsap OBGYN. Dr. Quimby delivered my son and provided my pregnancy/ postpartum care. She is the kindest, most influential doctor that I have ever had. I pray she is able to deliver all of my babies. If I move, I wish I could fly out here to have all my babies lol! I trust her with my life! She went above and beyond to help me avoid a C-section when I really didn't want one. She heard all of my concerns never invalidating me but educating. She did everything she could to help me reach my goals for my son's birth. She is so empathetic towards her patients and caring. You cannot ask for a better doctor. She goes above and beyond for her patients. When I was struggling postpartum with breastfeeding she truly changed the course for me and went out of her way to reassure and comfort me. I could go on forever haha! She made my delivery amazing. She is a fantastic doctor. I highly recommend Kitsap obgyn! All of her office staff have also been incredibly kind. Dr. Jennifer Quimby is BY FAR the best OBGYN in the entirety that is kitsap county. She's delivered all four of my kids and has done so with the upmost compassion and best bedside manner of any Dr I've ever dealt with. My first child was born on Christmas Eve morning and she was there from beginning to end and then on after, and made the whole experience smooth / stress free , and overall amazing. She's also the one who did my tubal surgery after the birth of my fourth child. She has always been honest and non - judgemental and always compassionate. The office where she's located, was, and always has been; throughout all my pregnancies; nothing but courteous, and helpful just the same. The only thing I have negative to say, is once in a while, you would end up waiting to be seen a little bit later than your appointment time, but only because they were busy because everyone wanted that place for their obgyn care because of the quality of care they gave. I am rewriting my review a year later because I had a procedure done at another doctor that I had done here. DO NOT GO HERE. There are better places. When I came here to get a colposcopy, I left the office in tears. I had such a traumatic experience but I wasn't quite sure if what I had gone through was normal. After going through it again at a different doc, I know that what I experienced here was, in fact, NOT NORMAL. Papsmears have never been an issue for me at all however, even the insertion of the speculum was painful. The scraping took way longer than it should have and was super painful. At the time I thought a doctor had done the procedure but I believe now that a nurse practioner might have done it. I don't think the woman knew what she was doing. Not only that, she never one asked me how I was doing. I was crying during the procedure. After she was done, she couldn't get out of the office fast enough. It was obvious that she was uncomfortable. Lastly, they were supposed to give me a pregnancy test before the procedure and that never happened either. Found out later I was pregnant during it. My husband picked me up from the office and I had told him that it didn't feel right. I felt strangely violated. I went to another doctor today to get the procedure done and it wasn't painful at all. It was quick and easy thus, the review a year later knowing what I know now. The good thing that came out of it is I found an awesome doctor. Original post... Get your shit together. DON'T RECOMMEND!!!! I came in saw Dr. McIntyer only ONCE! And then she pawn me off to her medical team, never saw her EVER again and I was there for two years. I kept expressing the pain I was having during cycles and other symptoms and she disregarded me and said that's typical to have...NO that's not right FYI EVERY body is different..... After two years dealing with the horrible staff and a doctor who doesn't even care about me I decided to go to another doctor and low and behold I get diagnosed with endometriosis. The doctors and medical staff here are very competent and compassionate. The front end staff and administrative organization/communication leave much to be desired. As one of the few shows in town, it's good to know what you could likely encounter: CON: No sense of urgency with schedulers or scheduling policies. We moved here at the beginning of the third trimester - it took four weeks to get in; didn't matter that I was high risk. PRO: The doctors really care. Dr. Marriot took the time to read my birth plan and discuss it point by point; she provided really good, science based reasons for making adjustments. She continued this level of communication for every visit. Never rushed. Listened. When I tested COVID positive the week of my induction, the on call doc (Dr. Hubbard) returned my message to the on-call line promptly and discussed my concerns about a COVID delivery and the risks associated with waiting or proceeding as planned. She didn't rush. She listened. Dr. Quimby, who was on call the day of my delivery, delivered my daughter and had an excellent bedside manner before, during and after. PRO: when receiving care in an office organized like this, I felt the team were all on the same page about my situation and all maintained a high standard of care CON: Office management has zero compassion and doesn't respond to or acknowledge comments or concerns provided on their web based feedback mechanism. CON: partners are considered visitors and can't attend anything but an ultrasound under their COVID policy. Semi PRO: you can have your partner FaceTime into your appointment but they won't tell you that up front. CON: This office does not use MyChart which makes communication difficult esp since they don't seem to check messages on the electronic web based system they do claim to use. Was referred here by my PCM due to persistent abdominal pain, nausea, and a host of other issues which were corroborated with an abnormal CT. I followed up with my referral and they said I needed to personally transmit my medical record before I could even book an appointment. So I did that... Fast forward one whole week later - symptoms are getting worse and they finally get back to me. Whoever reviewed my chart has deemed my case "non- urgent" and the soonest they can get me in is 3 months from now!!!!!! I mentioned that my symptoms are getting worse....but they stated that they won't take any additional symptoms into account unless there is a whole new referral submitted??? Like.......what? Are you kidding me? I'm sorry but in the women's health world 3 months is the difference between solving it with a small procedure and major life changing issues such as infertility and chronic pain. I know we are all doing our best during the Covid time but I don't know how this can be considered acceptable health care. Needless to say I am going elsewhere in the area. read more

Dr. Marriott is the most amazing OBGYN a woman could ask for. She helped my husband I through our struggle of infertility tests and questions we had, helped us through my pregnancy and was the most amazing caring doctor through my 36+ horror of delivery. None of what made that experience terrible was her however, she was the most amazing doctor and didn't disappoint. She always listens to my questions and concerns and treats me with kindness and respect. She never rushes me out the door and always makes me feel like I know exactly what is happening. And more than that, I trust her, I trust her opinions and if she recommends something, I know she really believes in it. Her nurse Claire is also amazing, again, I've seen her for years and she has been amazing through it all, she always remembers me, asks about the family, and is so super friendly. The only complaint I have about the office is the long waits when calling, I always know that whenever I have to call the office for anything, you have to wait on hold for a minimum of 20-30 mins every time you call. But I would always recommend the office anyway because for me, Dr. Marriott and Claire make it worth while. read more

Dr Quimby is truly a lovely doctor. It's very unfortunate that her support staff isn't as easy to deal with. The nurse practitioner, Lori, that put in my iud told me to not bother to follow up bc it's the summertime and people are vacationing. "Don't make an appointment if you can feel your own strings". I questioned what to do with any potential side effects and was told to just call in. That was an odd response imo. I had horrendous side effects. Charity, Quimbys nurse, has the most unsettling bedside manner. I had multiple interactions with her and she acts outwardly annoyed to be speaking with you at all. I was told if the pain i was experiencing was that bad, I should just go to the er. "Anyone can take that out, call around." And none of my side effects I experienced were indicative of an "emergent response" in her opinion, since their office is very busy and it's vacation season. She basically told me to suck it up. Awesome post procedure care, Charity. It's hard to feel cared for during episodes of bad side effects when everyone in the office is more concerned about their holiday. And I appreciate vacation time, but come on. Sadly, I'm going elsewhere. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I wish I would have read the reviews before I chose this place. The staff has absolutely NO clue what's going on and after dealing with a traumatic experience with my recently deceased baby the only thing I can say is run far from this place! My OB seemed great and I choose her specifically but that's all based on the ONE time I actually got to see her and reading others reviews I'm obviously not the only one who's had this experience. I was passed around to any OB that was available and that did not go well at all. I'm a very easy going person and get along with just about everyone so for me to have had this experience with not just one but multiple individuals employed under this facility is pretty bad. But I will say the office people by far are an absolute joke. No one communicates and nothing is done in a timely manner. When dealing with the office staff they NEVER knew how to do anything from simple paper work to even scheduling and that's a huge issue and when asking anything you could see the confusion in their face followed by a simple "I'm not sure" every time. Aside from my one positive experience with my ACTUAL OB THAT I SAW ONE TIME this place is the worst of the worst and it should be considering shut down with how poorly they have treated not only me but it seems like plenty of other patients. Please whatever you do don't go here especially if you are pregnant this place will only stress you out more and that's the last thing any expecting mom needs to deal with! read more

I had a great experince with Dr. Amity E. Marriott. She's very compassionate, kind, and laughed at my jokes (I tell bad puns, I don't always get laughs). She reviewed my chart very thoroughly before hand and realized I was a nervous patient. It made me feel a lot better that she knew ahead of time that I needed reassurance. I liked how she very thoroughly explained the entire process and what a follow surgery would entail. Her explanation was perfect - enough to know what to expect without going into every detail. She answered all my questions without making me feel embarassed in the least. When I left I felt very confident that she wanted to help me out and that she was invested in me as a paitent and a person. I deal with doctors on a routine basis and she is someone I would not hesitate to recommend. read more

My wife called here after being in the ER and was told to make an appointment with an OBGYN asap. The front desk person was rude, dismissive and cold. When my wife explained that she'd been inseminated the front desk person didn't understand or pretended not to understand what insemination was (isn't this one of the most basic things someone working in an OBGYN clinic should know?). This person then proceeded to tell my wife she needed her social security number in case she didn't pay her bill and they needed to track her down and told her people at the ER always say things are urgent when they're not without knowing what she had even went in for. We decided it was best to stay far away from this place after that encounter and would suggest other people to find care elsewhere. I've always been very pleased with my dr. That's why I keep coming back but the front desk is a joke. My last visit I walked into a huge line of women waiting to be checked in. We were instructed to sign in on a sheet of paper. The front desk ladies continued to check in the walk in people instead of the sheet of names. I ended up getting called back 40 mins after my scheduled apt and after several people that came in after me. Updating to add I ive been calling their billing department for a week and a half now to talk to them about copays they need to be refunding per my insurance, that they shouldn't have collected. I talked to people twice who promised me a call back and I never got a call back, today the third person didn't even bother verifying my information before telling me I wouldn't be refunded until an EOB for a different visit processed and when I said I didn't understand why when it was two separate visits I was asking for refunds for, she raised her voice and talked slowly and loudly like I was stupid, at which point i told her I wasn't an idiot and hung up. read more

Avoid them at all costs. Sparing you the full details of every terrible way their appointment team, nurses, billing department, and doctors failed, but I will list three of the big failures to help give you the idea of the kind of negligence you are likely to encounter: 1) Dr. Hebard and her nurse Jamie WITHHELD genetic results from me for TEN DAYS after the office received them (the tests state the date the lab returned them to the doc's office). I called three times over those ten days asking for my results, and nurse Jamie would not connect me with Dr. Hebard, tell me the results, or allow another doctor to simply read me my results. The results required immediate action on my part and I later learned that I was at risk during that needless delay. I have since confirmed with multiple other OB/GYN's and MFM's that this is totally atypical and unprofessional behavior for the results to be withheld for ANY period of time, especially given the results required immediate medical action on my part. 2) When Dr. Hebard finally did call me with the results, she told me to call "anytime" and she would be there to answer questions and help with the MFM referral. After hearing from her that one time, I called back asking for more information and a referral to a MFM. I asked specifically to speak with Dr. Hebard, not Jamie, her nurse, after Jamie botched multiple referrals. Dr. Hebard never called back, not once; she never took my call, and she never even showed her face at an appointment with me. Two of the three places Jamie tried to refer me to told me Kitsap OBGYN had messed up some part of the referral and caused delays. A doctor at another office I wasn't even actively seeing was willing to take my call to answer questions, and yet Dr. Hebard, my established OBGYN, never responded to any of my calls. 3) Their billing department continued to send me bills "for the rest of the pregnancy costs" despite me reporting to them multiple times that the pregnancy ended. Their midwife and a woman named Mary were helpful. Otherwise, they were beyond inept, and did not provide appropriate, ethical care. Even simply scheduling an appointment is not easy with them. I made an appointment 3 months in advance. I confirmed the appointment twice, once 3 days before the appointment was supposed to happen and once the day before. I show up to the office the day of my appointment, and I was told the doctor wasn't in that day and they had cancelled my appointment. Without telling me. They then proceeded to lie to me and tell me that they had been trying to contact me, which they hadn't. I hadn't received any phone call, email, or letter. So I drove 45 minutes to a non-existent appointment that they didn't bother to tell me they cancelled, despite me confirming the appointment the night before. I received a letter in the mail a few days later saying that they needed to reschedule my appointment; but the letter was sent on the day my appointment was supposed to be. I found a different OBGYN in my area who respects my time, doesn't lie to me, and cares about the pain I was going through, unlike Kitsap OBGYN. Upon looking at other reviews, I see I'm not the only one who's time was disrespected and pain was disregarded here, and I'm sure I won't be the last. Don't waste your time, find somewhere else that will give you the care you deserve. read more

I really want to like these guys, but they're just so out of touch. For one thing, I hate how every time I visit they mark down in my chart "Details of drug misuse behavior" because I tell them I occasionally smoke weed. I do this on my private property, and nothing about it is illegal or "misuse", especially since you can't even get a prescription in this state anymore. I don't do any other drugs, ever. Guess I need to start lying on my forms so they stop translating into a lie in their charts. I normally just go here to get an STD test, and they're pretty weird about it. I have multiple partners, and they make it pretty clear how dirty they think I am. They also can't do any blood tests in house, and they sent me across the parking lot to take care of that. I basically had to check in twice, took twice the time, and now I have double the bills to take care of too. I also don't like how they won't make the results available on my chart.. only that you got the test. They also called me very seriously to tell me I had herpes.. but it was hsv1 which 99% of the population has at my age. Just seemed like a weird scare tactic to get me to be monogamous or something. Last year I went in to get my IUD taken out and it was awful too.. the nurse Lori poked at me so much I wanted to throw up. Then I went and saw a real dr, and she pulled it out within seconds. And this was after they told me I may need surgery to get it removed. Not sure I'm going to go back here, but there aren't many good options in Kitsap. read more

I thought I would post a warning to others, but then saw all the other negative reviews on here! I'm guessing this won't come as a surprise, but I found the front staff delightful and the back-office staff very unconcerned, unsympathetic, and rigid about policy. I had an urgent request of their office on behalf of a family member was a patient here. First, they denied knowing anything about a FMLA medical certification. Once I finally found it online, they agreed to "process" it for a $25 fee but didnt mention they would get to it when they got to it. I was under the impression the fee was to offset the inconvenience and was content to pay. I called back when I found out they had no intention of working on it same day (my 10-day grace period for submission ended the next day) and offered more money to expedite the process. This apparently offended the staffer who refused and began repeating herself about clinic policy, regardless of the circumstances. My husband, who dropped off the paperwork and alerted me to the issue was told 5-10 days "processing time", but when I inquired as to why (since all it requires is a few details already provided, a signature, and a fax), the timeline was increased to 7-10 days, and I was told there are NO exceptions. So clearly, they know what it is, how to process it, how to bill for it, and just don't like doing it. What a disservice to their patients!! I do not understand!!! I would not recommend this clinic as a result. Doesn't matter how good the doctor is if the staff are haters. read more

I literally had to wait 10 minutes before speaking with someone to book an appointment. However, once I was able to speak with someone, she was very polite and helpful. Upon arriving at this facility, there was a long line of people waiting to checkin. When I made it to the receptionist, she was nice but seemed overwhelmed (understandably). I didn't have to wait too long after completing my paperwork and copay to be shown to a room b a nurse who was very nice. I had to wait around 30 minutes in my room for the gynecologist, but he was fantastic. I would recommend Dr. Zapata. read more

I will start off by saying that I did enjoy my first appointment with Dr. Marriott. However, I had such a terrible experience with an NP that I will no longer be returning. The NP was not professional and unsanitary (didn't wash hands before putting on gloves). I also just got off the phone with someone from the office and felt frustrated when my questions I asked were met with insensitive/ explanatory responses. I have been told since I was 19 that having a baby was not an option for me. Dr Marriott went through all my medical history and explained why other doctors would've thought that... I can confidently say that at 26 I have finally been told that it is very possible for me to carry a baby to full term with being careful and following directions. I love my appointments with Dr. Marriot. She's great at what she does! But after speaking to the nurse Brenda after having concerns with my health. And what's going on, she seemed to brush it off and told me to stop "traveling" and to stop being around "exposure". And told me to call back in few weeks if I was still feeling the symptoms I'm having. My test results for COVID were negative after I traveled ONCE.. Which I had told her. And I had more than just "nausea" concerns. Which had NOTHING to do with Covid. They were concerns about my WOMENS health. And for her to brush it off and tell me to call her back in few weeks to see if they were still there. And to tell me to "stop doing this" "stop doing that" when I haven't done ANY of the things she thought I was doing. And after some of my concerns I explained to her she told me it's "normal". Seems like she told me it was normal just to get off the phone with me. So I called my primary doctor 30 min later. And after speaking to my PRIMARY doctor about everything. She told me everything I am feeling IS NOT NORMAL and IS A CONCERN. It would be great to have had gotten scheduled an app to see what is wrong instead of a "call back in a few weeks" to see if it's still there. If I have felt like this more than 2 weeks then shouldn't that be concerning????? UNPROFESSIONAL. ALSO- I've been going to this place for 4 years and DR MARRIOTT is amazing but the front desk and the nurses are just rude sometimes. I had to reschedule my appointments here and there due to me being sick. SO many times they had me waiting for over 30 minutes to an hour and SO many times where I was understandable if Dr. Marriott being late or needing to reschedule due to her having an emergency. But when I had to call having to reschedule , the receptionist was so rude and asked me why I have to reschedule I told her my DAUGHTER is sick. She told me if I reschedule again that dr Marriott would have to stop seeing me. Uhm???? That was few months ago. Also RECENTLY I brought my daughter with me to my appointment. And NEVER once did they tell me that I couldn't bring my daughter in with me due to covid. So they had to RESCHEDULE ME. Yet I WAS understanding. I found out last November I would be moving to the area. Since I was coming due for my annual exam, I scheduled with Dr Marriott for early January. One week before my appointment, her office called and said that due to the holidays they needed to reschedule me with a nurse practitioner. I told them I was not willing to see a NP, I wanted to see the actual physician I was establishing with, so they pushed my appointment out until the second week in February. Two days before my appointment I got a text asking me to confirm my appointment, which I did, and then a few hours after that I got a call from the office once again wanting to reschedule me with the NP. When I again said no, I want to see the actual physician, they tried to move my appointment out another SEVEN WEEKS! This clinic came highly recommended but there is no excuse for appointments to be handled this way. If Dr Marriott does not have the time to see her patients perhaps they should tell people she is not accepting new patients. read more

Please please stay away from this place! If I could give them 0 stars I would. The beginning of the year I went into Urgent Care for having bright red blood in my stool (TMI), I was rushed to a CT and was discovered that I had colitis (causing the blood) and a 4.1cm cyst on my left ovary. I had always suspected I had cysts, but never been confirmed. Since my main visit with Urgent Care was due to the colitis I was told to make an appointment with an OBGYN about the cyst. Honestly months went by and I figured it would just go away, no big deal, but then I started noticing super painful ovulation and after talking to others was warned it could be cancer, it could rupture, it could twist my ovary and cause infertility and online saying a cyst that size needed to come out. My partner and I had also been trying to get pregnant for 2.5 years with no success and I started to wonder if the cyst had something to do with it. Fast forward to 6 months after my CT scan (I know, a long time to wait but I have a fear of going to the doctor and being ridiculed and told that I am making a big deal of nothing, and I have been very busy with work, and work travel and doctors appointments arent usually easy to attend with my schedule and living 45 min outside of town). I call Kitsap OBGYN and explain what I just stated above about my cyst. They booked my an appointment 2.5 months out, odd. So on the day my appointment arrives, I make sure to show up 30 min early to fill out paperwork. I check in and waiting 1.5 hours to be seen. At this point the office was closing in 15 minutes. Dr. McIntyre comes in, doesn't even introduce herself, no sorry for the wait, no nice to meet you, hell not even a smile. I explain I am a little anxious and she asks "what have you never had this done before?" at which point I am like I'm sorry, what exactly are we doing? What exactly is going on? Apparently they have me scheduled for an annual. At which point I am pretty visibly upset, explaining that I never scheduled an annual, that I wasn't even aware I was due for an annual until sitting in the office that day filling out when my last one was (which technically wasn't due for a few months), that I was upset because I had waited 2.5 months to be seen and an hour and half in the waiting room just for them not to know how to take care of me, or even a plan on what they were seeing me for, and now asking me what she should do? She said I was probably made to wait because it was for an annual. Again I explain I never called about an annual, that word never even crossed my mind and I could care less about getting that done. Her only response was that the notes from the front desk said I called about an annual, again I insisted that was absolutely incorrect. She then brings up the fact that they dont have any medical records and I said well yea, because when I made the appointment and explained the situation I wasn't told you needed medical records. The only record I have related to the cyst literally was a CT report that said "4.1cm cyst left side". I also told her that we had been trying to get pregnant for 2.5 years and I wasn't sure if the cyst had something to do with it, but that I was also afraid it could be cancer, rupture or twist my ovary. Her response was "Oh wow". That is it. and "so do you want to focus on the cyst or the infertility?". At which point I am almost in tears with my frustration. In the end since she couldn't even do anything for me, she proceeded with the annual and STD test (even though I insisted it was pretty unnecessary as I had been with one partner in 6 years) and scheduled an ultrasound for my cyst. I told her I was literally due/late for my period, but yet no pregnancy test. She said that would work perfectly because if I came for my ultrasound after my period my cyst should be gone. At which point I tried to clarify "excuse me, so are you saying that most cysts come during your cycle and go away during your period". Her response was "usually". Again without me prodding I would have had NO INFORMATION, no assurances, no information, NOTHING. I go to leave and they scheduled me for an ultrasound "next Wednesday". I do not get a reminder phone call or text, but a voicemail 3 days later that I missed my ultrasound. Needless to say, 4 days after my appointment with Dr. McIntrye I find out I am pregnant. If they had given me a test I would have found out that day. I made sure to find a new OBGYN for this baby, as I have never been so mistreated and belittled by a medical professional in my life. I saw Dr. Hebard on 3/17/16 with a obgyn concern. It is now January 2017 and I've been turned over to collections. Medicare declined the charges because Dr. Hebard's office billed as a preventive medical exam, rather than an issue, and the CA screen and pap were billed with no diagnosis so they weren't covered either. It turned out to be a rule-out situation. Anyway $266.88 was billed. I called the office and tried to arrange an affordable amount for somebody trying to live on social security. The office advised it was illegal and refused to negotiate. I called the collections office and they said send a letter. I sent a letter offering $150 (everybody knows that Medicare wouldn't have paid more than $50, if that, if it were covered. Dr. Hebard's office refused my very reasonable offer per the collection agency. I called Medicare today because I'm angry. As a person with no insurance (which is the case when Medicare declines), the office thinks it's OK to charge more than if I had insurance (as a retired professional medical claims person, I know for a fact that there is NO insurance that would have paid anywhere close to the amount billed). Medicare advised that it is NOT illegal to negotiate amounts due (it is illegal to charge MORE than Medicare would cover for covered services). They also advised the services were billed in a way that caused them to not cover the services. Dr. Hebard provided good care. This complaint is not about her. It's about the billing practices of her staff and the the way they bill Medicare - apparently their only goal is to maximize their billing - not ensuring that Medicare will cover at least some portion of the bill. They then refuse to negotiate a reasonable amount and essentially try to bully me into doing something that I can't afford. I don't know whether Dr. Hebard is aware of the way her staff does business, but I don't intend to let this go. I'm filing complaints with WA Dept of Health, will contact my Congressperson re unconscionable billing practices, and also intend to picket their offices when the weather clears a little. I am also inclined to offer less in settlement since I am forced to do all this - including making a yelp complaint to begin with. read more

Dr. Bohannon may have good reviews ... but no "good morning", or "I can help you" or anything that made me feel like I was doing anything other than interrupting H's coffee break ... This has to be one of the worst office staff's I've ever seen. Speaking to a receptionist takes at least 20 minutes for the phone to even be answered, not "can I put you on hold", nothing. Billing is a nightmare and I have been charged for things that my EOB clearly states I don't owe, then when asked about it, billing staff gets defensive and rude. The physicians at this practice are phenomenal and will care for you like family, but their office staff ruins the whole experience. read more

All the doctors are awesome. Literally everything else about this office is horrible. Feels like a 90s fab third world country in the waiting room. The receptionists call everyone "sweety" which is the most unprofessional greeting nomenclature I can think of. It doesn't matter what time of day your appointment is, you will be waiting 45 minutes at least. read more

I had the pleasure of having Dr. Zapata as my gyno AND ob. Very kind and welcoming, always attentive to my concerns and I. No complaints about him whatsoever BUT it's very unfortunate that the staff at this office is a mess and the wait times for both the phone and office are ridiculous. My husband was in the navy and we had planned to move back home (Las Vegas, NV). We let the front desk ladies know that I needed my medical files faxed to my new ob once I made an appointment, they said it wouldn't be a problem. Cut to - I move. I call my new ob (btw i'm 34 weeks pregnant) and they tell me that I can't make an appointment until I get my medical files faxed over to them, which was fine with me. I call Kitsap OBGYN and I ask them to transfer my files. The lady rudely told me I had not filled out a release from in their office. I told her I was never told to do this DESPITE letting them know two weeks ahead of time that I was moving?! They said I could print one out on their website, fill it out, then fax it to them so they could fax my files to my new ob. I did as instructed and I wait a couple days. I call my new ob and they tell me they haven't received anything. I call Kitsap obgyn and they tell me they haven't faxed my files. I ask why and I'm told I have to wait because there's ppl ahead of me... um what? I'm 34 weeks and I need prenatal care! THREE WHOLE WEEKS PASS and Kitsap obgyn still hasn't faxed my medical files to my new ob. I get frustrated and decide to tell my husband to handle it his way and he gets it all figured out for me. I finally see my new ob at 37 weeks and thankfully everything with my baby and I are completely okay. I was so worried and extremely paranoid those weeks I had to wait to see a doctor. I finally have it all figured out now but it's no thanks to Kitsap obgyn. DON'T rely on the front desk staff for ANYTNING. read more
