The pesto chicken sandwich was also bigger than I thought! Fries were also crispy, good amount as a side. The burger was unexpectedly good too. The only reason why it's not a 5/5 for me is because of the location and seating. I don't mind bars (got a good draft beer) but it's shared space outdoor space. Seating is ok, but not the cleanest and the visuals around you and smell of left over cigs weren't it... Other than that - 5/5 food!

They operate out of a food truck, which means prep times may be longer than they would out of brick and mortar. If time is NOT on your side just wait until you have time to spare. You won't be disappointed believe me. I'm prob wha you call a wimp when it comes to spice levels. The highest I've gone is a 5, but I believe they go up to 10/11. Some things you have to ease into. After hearing them explain the levels of heat, 5 was a safe spot for me. The tenders are juicy and coated entirely by breading and spice level of choice. The juiciest tenders you ever put in your mouth. They do have dipping sauces available (ranch, spicy ranch, maple honey (their spin on honey mustard). For sides you can choose fries or pasta salad. Both are good. I just prefer a little fry action with my tenders. If you've been contemplating on going, DON'T. Just go! Oh yeah the chicken sandwich is also great too. I still need to try the burger!

Originally my friends and I were headed to a sit-down restaurant, but we were put off by the 50 minute wait time. We drove around and spotted The Happy Taco truck. There was minimal wait time, and great food options. It was inexpensive, hot, and tasty. I can't complain we were in an out with happy stomachs. We will definitely be back shortly!

I may be weird that way, but I like seeing what different parts of the metro area have to offer. Even if you're just the least bit familiar with Donelson, you'll have no problem finding this truck. It's on the east side of the Lebanon/McGavock intersection in the plaza with the large liquor store. Got your bearings? Good. I arrived at 745, eager to not be one of those people who show up just before close. Well, best laid plans and all because the truck just changed its close time from 9 to 8. So... yeah. The owner couldn't have been nicer, though. I told her that I completely understood if she was already packed up for the night. She said that if I could pay cash and were alright with tacos, we were in business. Done and done. At $1.50 a pop, I was in the market for a goodly amount of tacos. I got all that I wanted, save for the shrimp. Given the time of my order, they were off menu. Instead I ordered two chickens, one asada, one pasta, one carnitas, and one barbacoa. They came with onions, cilantro, lime, and green & red sauce. Cool. After an appropriate amount of time, I had my tacos and a wish from the owner that I enjoy them. It may sound like a small thing but it's that type of caring that will keep me coming back and back. I arrived home to dig in to my tacos. As soon as I opened the container, i was happy. They smelled fantastic. Each taco was visibly distinguishable from the other and of a good size. I sauced and limed my tacos and dug in. They were awesome. The meat was seasoned well, tender and juicy. My only dry taco was the carnitas but that's a foreseeable problem, given the meat. I was satisfied with six but could have eaten more. The name lives up to the product. After eating, I was very happy, indeed. It seems that Donelson gets more 'hip' and excitingly culinary by the week. Happy Taco certainly adds to its cred. Next time you are in the area, make sure you stop by and support. Your belly will thank you.
