I usually prefer tea bags; lecture me until my ears fall off but for I'm usually fine with sacrificing tea quality for the simplicity and convenience of a teabag. Light of Day teas, however, make me a believer in the magic of carefully blended, high quality tea. I used the Creamy Earl Grey tea to bribe myself to do the most mind-numbingly dense readings for my grad school courses, or for simply getting up and dressed for class on a grey winter morning. It's a true treat, and worth the high price. In addition to being absolutely delicious (black or with milk, sweetened or unsweetened), the tea and nearly all of the ingredients were grown at the Light of Day farm, which is certified biodynamic and right here in Michigan! Having originally tasted and fallen in love with Light of Day teas served on campus at the University of Michigan School of Public Health cafe, my friends and I made sure to visit the store during a trip up north. We felt like (grown) kids in a (healthy) candy shop -- there were so many kinds of tea, and they all sounded amazing! We all bought tins of tea for ourselves and as holiday gifts for friends/relatives, and also had a round of matcha shots, which were delicious. We strolled around the garden near the shop, but in warmer weather be sure to see the farm!

They have a variety of sandwiches from healthy to not so healthy but all are delicious and fresh. Their shop has some outside seating but they no longer have inside seating. You can call or go online to place an order, or head to the shop as well. Their menu is extensive and inside the shop they have a selection of assorted sides like chips, crackers, olives, drinks etc. it is fun to peruse and pick up some local kettle chips or a snack to accompany the sandwich deliciousness. On a non-busy day it usually take 10-15 minutes to complete and order, but on a weekend give it 45 minutes so as to provide enough time for your meal to be perfect. The sandwiches are fresh and hand made per order so you get all the goodness of right now packed with flavor. My husbands favorite has chicken, cheese, avocado, mayo, red onions and an assortment of yummy spices that keep him coming back again and again. He honestly tried to make this at home a few times but it never matched and so he decided instead to book an annual trip to Lake Street Market instead! I've tried their Miss Fit Attends Services which is a vegetarian option that is very hardy and full of taste. I also like their salads and assortment of chips! All in all it is a must visit if you are in the area, or worthy of a day trip if not!

Well to be honest, after a solid late breakfast, dinner entrees ideas never crossed my mind. As we drove through Walloon Lake I posed the question "how does Lake Street Market in B.C. sound?" POW - I managed to hit the home run. Darted in their front door only to find myself alone with the busy staff tending their assigned tasks. Place our carryout order & started to browse the abundant offerings displayed. The aromas drifting from their baking oven in the back were hypnotic. Love the staggered floors which add to LSM's local charm. Our wraps were ready within 5-7 minutes, icy cold Cherry lemonade and I'm out the door. Used my fingers to grab the last of the olive tapenade that managed to escape - yup pure yummy
