I contacted this carpet cleaning place after being left out to dry by another one. I liked that they were local to me, in business for a long time and have great reviews. I spoke to ed on the phone to schedule a cleaning and he was very kind, gave me a great quote and even let me know that a Saturday cleaning would be no problem! He came on time with his partner and they got to work right away. Luckily for them no furniture needed to be moved so they just had to clean the carpet. My carpet was in bad condition, hadn't been cleaned since it was installed years ago by previous renters. It had dog vomit and urine stains along with dirt and everything else to go with it. I could not afford to replace it so cleaning was the only option. They were very fast and at first glance it was very clean, I was honestly in shock by how much better it looked. The only red flag was that it was still pretty wet and I'd find out later that it's not good for it to be that wet still. I allowed it about 24 hours to dry and then I had my couch being delivered so I had to put furniture back on it. Overall it's better than it was but, over time as it dried a lot of the stains reappeared and still till this day it has a weird smell coming from it in certain spots. It's called wicking when the stains come back and that's because the carpet was not dried properly. I've tried baking soda, carpet sprays, vinegar, you name it. Nothing has worked to get the smell out. I wasn't expecting a miracle, trust me I understand how bad it was before. If I could leave 0 stars I would. We had a bad moth problem with our oriental rug. I called Ed at Kleenmaster and he told me he could fix the problem. He and an assistant came and also recommened they we spray the neighboring carpets. Total bill $1350.00. They sprayed and after they left we kept finding worms climbing out of the carpet. Contacted Ed & he came back sprayed again and still worms. Contacted again- lots of weird texts from Ed. Contacted grinds with rug company in Chicago and three local businesses- all said what Ed did doesn't fix problem. Ed comes back with his assistant to get dryers and he gives me more stories and excuses. I had to ask him 5 times to leave my house. I'm out $1350 and had to send the carpet out to the professionals. Ok these guys are AMAZING! Ed and Miguel are so efficient, effective and super nice people. I have a cat who peed on my suede couch and i was terrified that i would have to get rid of it. These guys came in here and within an hour completely took care of the problem there is no trace of the cat smell at all and the couch is not even very wet. Ed has had cats and totally understood my problem. I had called several other places from yelp before finding Ed and the other companies didn't even call me back! I had not heard of this company before, but based on the Yelp reviews I had to call. Just speaking to Ed, I knew he was the one! His honesty, candor, and enthusiasm for his work came across immediately. I didn't even bother to call anyone else for estimates. Well, I was not disappointed because Ed and his colleague Miguel spent a lot of time and effort working on my old sectional sofa to get off all of the cat snot that was accumulated over the years of having a cat with respiratory issues. They did a fantastic job. Not only were they thorough but they were also considerate about moving around my small apartment with me in it. Yelp needs to add a minus rating. My review is Solely on the customer service given by Mr Ed. We negotiated a time and price for my sons apt - not only did he renege on the agreed time and price- he insinuated that the apt WE had already agreed on his overpriced service- was too much for him to handle. His excuse was that he agreed too quickly ?!! Really ? I was specific in what I wanted done. This is not a squatters apartment!! Ed, and his handy assistant Michael, did a fabulous job of cleaning 3 sizable rooms of wall-to-wall Cream-colored carpeting that had not been cleaned in many years. Ed's quote was detailed, prompt and in line with others cost-wise, but their service was far superior. We live in a very busy part of Manhattan and our building is very exacting in terms of what it requires of service providers but he was easily able to handle both challenges. He arrived on time, brought up all of the needed equipment quickly, respected our property and spend 4 solid hours restoring our carpets to near new condition. One was especially badly stained in an area and all had wear discoloration in high traffic areas but Ed and Michael doggedly worked to get them looking as good as possible. It is also meaningful that the chemicals that they use created no odor and in fact imparted a light scent that my wife found to be pleasant. When the work was done, they cleaned up all affected areas and moved out their equipment quickly and quietly. All in all, a PRO job. read more
