From the get go, she was responsive to my text and was clear and communicative leading up to the session. I booked her two weeks ahead of time, and, thankfully, she was available! Parking was easy, and her studio is gorgeous with lots of natural lighting. Tammy is so friendly, and I loved her work. I gave her some inspo photos for hairstyle and simply asked for a natural look, and she worked her magic. I've only ever gotten professional HMU done for wedding/wedding parties purposes, and this was a first for my maternity photoshoot. Before the wedding, I had a trial with Kristie at her salon. I really liked the high quality products she used, and she was very careful and took her time to do a good job. She was collaborative, receiving feedback and trying different things. Her makeup style is natural and polished, highlighted with shimmer and feminine colors. She has an eye for what will look nice when photographed. After the trial, Kristie remained responsive, and I mostly communicated with her over text and email. Her pricing was competitive with or even more affordable than other HMUAs of similar style. We had a large group needing hair and makeup, but she assembled a team of experienced professionals and created a schedule to stagger everyone. My party's hair and makeup looked beautiful; everyone still looked very much like themselves, just enhanced. I've worked many weddings but was very taken aback at how glowy and seamless all of their hair and makeup was at this event. If you are familiar with the industry: she got a better booking that would make her more money and waited last minute to try and force my daughter's appoint to 10 hours before her event. And she's a bad liar...you know the type: they ramble, they over explain, etc. Simply put: she does business dirty. Unless you have a wedding with a large party that will make her more money she won't be loyal to your booking. Lastly, it took over 12 hours from the time it was confirmed I would not be using her, a venmo request, and a text to get my deposit refunded while I scrambled to find a replacement. We booked someone who came in on their birthday weekend when she heard what happened. My daughter looked STUNNING. Girl, bye. Have the life you deserve. Does dirty business.
