I wouldn't even give him a single star.. He lies steals & haggles you for every penny you will let him take. Lies: about how many workers he has (not 4) try 1.5 when he decides to show up, states licensed professionals are hired to do plumbing then rakes up bill and does it himself (his only worker told me so), doesn't start on time, doesn't review what he is doing just picks stuff & makes you pay the difference. Hires electrician to do work not on contract, then demands you pay it without asking prior to do a change of order or addition to expense. I think not.. (my son is a electrician) Expects all money or more than 75% before half way done only to walk out on project taking cabinets you paid the difference for delivered to his own address so he can return them & leave you high and dry when he plans a argument, cussing you and his worker out when confronted about the fraud plumbing job. His contract isn't a contract just the beginning mark up on what he can steal from you. He has two others women suing him (look it up) & is a felon & thief. He doesn't work well with others & is a master con artist and double charges ya by making his descriptions so you don't understand the details. States he has been in business 33yrs but if you look up his business it's only 7yrs old. Do NOT hire or trust this man. He will take all your money & start but not finish a single job. His one worker will be the only person showing up & then you get to hear him cuss, belittle & demean him daily. It was awful & it's no wonder he doesn't have workers. He is the worst & is highly rated on BBB but if you ask me it has to be all fake when he has a rap sheet with ppl suing him & doing unlicensed work like he does. They did a good job, not great, just good. They had many problems due to a new employee, who seemed very talented, but many issues came up. Started with dimensions from drawings not followed. Then preparation for floor tile and wall tile was not level or square , so when tile went in, it was not flat on floor and not square on walls. I had to purchase additional floor and wall tile. For example the wall tile, it was supposed to take 9 large format tiles, but because of cutting issues I had to source and purchase 6 additional. The new worker clearly did not have expertise in tiling. The owner redid everything and fixed all the problems but this added at least 3 weeks to the project. In general the details matter and the owner totally understands this. So he wants to fix everything so that you will be happy. The next issue and probably the biggest issue, is communication and estimate change orders. Instead of a change order being presented, and accepted by the customer, many items simply show up in billing as change orders, and these all were surprises. When trying to have a discussion about these billing items, great drama and emotional response is encountered. It is like the owner of Klinghamer is never open to a discussion, it is only that he is right and the customer is wrong, or that there is computer problems. Also his availability to meet in person is very challenging because he is always very busy. I am an accountant, so it is difficult when a line on an estimate suddenly changes to a new amount without any explanation or change order to validate the new amount. When the job was completed and I wanted to discuss these billing items in order to pay the correct amount, the owner went completely off the deep end and was screaming at me for an hour. Because my check was lower than what he expected he accused me of being dishonest about payment, and said he will file law suit, but he would not calm down and go over the estimate billing anomalies. I am hoping we can sit down and resolve the billing issues so that I will be able to pay a correct final balance. read more

George and his crew remodeled my master bath, hall bath, half bath, kitchen and basement. He also did work on the outside of my house. When I first spoke with George I told him I wanted to love my house again. He superseded my expectations. His attention to detail was superior. I could not be more pleased. My vision became his vision and he knocked it out of the ballpark. I would highly recommend Klinghammer Construction for any remodeling, updating or painting that you may be considering.
