This locally owned business has transitioned beautifully from the South Sound Mall area to a sparkling building across the street! With the move, which occurred shortly prior to everything closing down came a few changes in personnel, who are helpful and friendly (though I miss the "friends" from the previous store). Kluh's boasts a talented in-house jeweler, which we value. They take a photo of your jewelry when you leave it and require photo ID to pick it up. I appreciate a locally owned jeweler who has quality diamonds and other stones, traditional pieces and unique Estate pieces, which are ALWAYS worth checking out. Their prices are reasonable and workmanship impeccable. If you have family pieces to update, Kluh Jewelers is a great place to start. I went into Kluh Jewelers on Black Friday in search of an engagement ring for my parter. We were not interested in a traditional diamond ring, as diamonds are not rare and extremely overpriced. We had discussed a tanzanite ring, as it is one of the rarest gemstones on the planet, similar to our love for each other. I walked into Kluh's at about 1:20pm and was greeted by a young women. She asked what I was looking for and when I told her a tanzanite ring. She instantly started on trying to talk me out of purchasing a tanzanite ring. Look I understand it is your job to educate and inform, but don't you think that if someone requests an item, your job should be to pull the item of interest? Clearly this employee was trying to upsell me to a diamond, which infuriated me, and sent me walking out of the store without more than 6 minutes of looking around. Proposals are one of the most important moments in a persons life. Having one of your employees try and pry open my wallet for a bump in personal gain was one of the poorest displays of "customer service" I've ever seen. I was told by a corporate Jeweler that my ring needed to be redesigned in order to keep the diamonds snug. That wasn't the case at all. Matt Kluh, took his time to explain to me the reason my stones were coming loose, fixed it for me, and told me how to prevent it from happening. I recently had my wedding set repaired here. Emma helped me, and she was wonderful, doing everything she could to get me the best price and was very thorough and kind. They resized my rings, replaced the head holding my diamond (it was so loose I could push it out with my finger. It's not going anywhere now!), and a few other minor repairs. Kluh Jewelers has been in Lacey for as far back as I can remember and I'm old as dirt! I called and ask if they could put a battery in a watch for me. I even had the battery. I went down and learned they had moved to over by Fred Meyers in the corner of Sleater-Kinney and Pacific. They put the battery in at no charger and even set the time for me. I then ask about getting something for someone (Shhh, It's a secret). Deb was helping me; I explained what I was thinking and she started pointing out some things that was pretty much dead on without trying to oversell me something way out of my price range. I found something I liked and she told me of a sale that was starting in about a week. I ask if I buy this one can I come back to the sale and trade it in at pull purchase price and she said yet as long as it wasn't resized. So, I will be back and see what I will end up with. Dropped my rings off on Thursday and they were ready for pick up at 4:00 the next day! My rings didn't even look the same as when I dropped them off, they were shiny and bright. I took a couple of rings in for repair. 1 was just a resize and I am very pleased with that. It was done on time ans ut fits great. My 2nd ring needed more work. It had been cut and the edge was worn out by rubbing next to another ring. This was part of my mothers wedding set and very special to me. I was told it was too much to fix which was a bit disappointing. Matt told me they may have another ring in the back that they might be able to use to reset the stones from my ring. I was suppose to get an email with all the info. I never received any email nor was anything said when I picked up my resized ring. Very dissapointed. Now I need to research other options. read more
