They sent a representative to provide the estimate on the wrong day, so I had to explain the entire project over the phone rather than walk through it in person. As a result, the crew initially ran the fence directly through the middle of the yard. Everyone on the crew apparently felt that the placement seemed wrong, but somehow nobody had my phone number to call and confirm it, so they went ahead with the installation anyway. To their credit, the company acknowledged that the mistake was theirs and moved the posts to the correct locations the following week. Mistakes happen, and I even called the office afterward to thank them for taking responsibility and correcting the issue. Unfortunately, the crew failed to mention--to either me or their supervisors in the office--that they had broken a four-inch pipe in the septic system while moving the posts. Instead, they dug a large hole around the damaged pipe and covered it with plywood. I did not discover the damage until after they finished the job a week later and left the project marked as "complete." At that point, they still had not mentioned the broken pipe to me or apparently reported it to anyone in the office. I brought the issue to the office's attention on Friday. It is now Tuesday, and nobody has come out to inspect or repair the damage. There has been absolutely no sense of urgency. The most frustrating part of the entire experience has been the complete lack of communication, both internally and with me as the customer. Every time something needed to be scheduled, clarified, or followed up on, I had to call them. Nobody proactively contacted me at any stage of the process. I understand that they have recently experienced some staffing changes, so perhaps things will improve in the future. However, my experience was unnecessarily stressful and, frankly, fairly miserable. Mistakes happen, including damaged pipes. What is much harder to excuse is failing to report the damage, leaving the job without addressing it, and then showing no urgency once the problem was brought to the company's attention. The lack of internal and external communication throughout this project was astounding. Especially when we made the choice to go with the more expensive and established company on town.
