Since our move to Melissa last Summer I have been searching for a quality and trusted chiropractic provider in the area. Seeing on Google that Knight Family Chiropractic had a perfect 5 star rating here, I decided to give them a try. Firstly, while scheduling an appointment I was very surprised to find out that they ONLY do an X-ray exam for the first-time visit. I explained to them that I was having quite some pain at my neck and shoulder, and was really hoping to have an adjustment together during that same visit, but the answer was a no. Although weird, I thought to myself "oh well, they must be doing something right to justify that perfect rating". Then I went to my first visit, paid $39 for the X-ray without any treatment.
Before I left, they scheduled for a 2nd visit for a consultation with a financial advisor to go over treatment plan. I was like "why do I need to talk with a financial advisor?" The front desk lady Liz said "It is our policy to look at your X-Ray and go over a plan with a financial advisor. You don't have to have an adjustment if you don't want..." says Liz. Then I asked her how much each adjustment would cost. She told me the cost ranges between $50s to $60s depending on treatment level. I thought this cost is still aligned with my previous adjustment costs elsewhere, so I decided to continue on.
However, on the Saturday before my 2nd appointment I woke up with a lot of pain in the neck/shoulder, so I called to see if I could come in that morning to have an adjustment. They told me "I'm sorry we don't do an adjustment BEFORE your consultation for your second visit, and we don't do a consultation on Saturdays". I almost begged "can I just have the adjustment today, and worry about the consultation later at the original appointment date?" They finally agreed. So I went in and had an adjustment with Dr. Dizdarevic (people call him Dr. Diz, a fresh grad out of school). I thought this should be a rather straight forward process, because I have received chiropractic adjustments for years, and I know how those adjustment experience should be like. But in here, it's a different story. Within 2 minutes literally, he told me he finished his adjustments. I said to him "wait...but you haven't adjusted my shoulder yet, I still have a lot of pain in this area." In my previous adjustments elsewhere they always include my shoulder area. Then, to my shock, he said "I'm sorry, I have done the spinal adjustment on you. If you want to have your shoulder adjusted, you will have to pay extra because it's a different billing code." Then almost at the same time, another lady walked in as if she knew what I was wondering ("how much is it?"), telling me the exact extra charge would be $37.60.
I felt like I had to have this "extra" adjustment. After all that was the reason I went in the first place. So I let Dr. Diz adjust me shoulder. Within 40 seconds literally, he finished on my right side, and told me it's done. OMG, my wife could have adjusted the way he did on my shoulder. I was then like "what about the other side?". He goes "that's not needed". I said "How do you know I don't have a pain on the other side?" He said "that's not an issue" and ready to walk out. I was shocked. At the last minute, I asked him "can you at least on a high level go over any issues based on X-Ray ?". He goes "I'm sorry I can't, I have other patients...You'll have to come back again to talk to our financial advisors for a consultation on that....." And that's the end of our conversation. He literally spent 5 minutes total and walked out. It cost me $93.60 for this visit.
So that was my experience with this "5-Star" provider. Totally, I spent $132.60 at this place for a lame and unfinished adjustment. Reflecting back when I was told about the X-Ray and consultation policy, I SHOULD HAVE REALIZED that what they really care about is their profit, not about patient's pain or whether they feel better. What a trap! I would leave negative stars if I could. I definitely won't ever go back, and ask others not to! read more
