My husband was sold on both options, he didn't care which we close, but having a sales background, I'm almost immune and for our needs right now, this was not the program or company for us, but yes, if we were in our forever home, I would have totally considered buying what this man was selling.

I had been using Service Experts in Memphis for twice-yearly HVAC maintenance, and my AC had been…read moreworking perfectly with no issues. I purchased the advantage plan which I receive two maintenance visits per year. During my most recent maintenance visit, the technician changed the filter and checked my 6 year old unit. He gave a report on my unit stating my capacitor reading was not the number it should be. He stated it would eventually go out. Also stated I needed Freon., and the compression would go out soon. About 30 minutes after he left, my house started getting hot. I checked the thermostat and saw the temperature was rising. I immediately called the company because my AC was working fine before the technician touched it. I made it clear to the Office Manager that I wanted my unit working like it was before he touched it and I wasn't paying any money to get it back to a working status. Instead of taking my concerns seriously, the office manager seemed more focused on my frustration than on resolving the issue. After speaking with the owner, they sent the technician back. His conversation was the same as the office manager informing me what the technician wrote and telling me my capacitor just happened to go out when he left. Also said that's pretty normal. I can't make this crap up! When the technician returned , he immediately tried to sell me a new capacitor for $268, claiming his readings showed it was failing. I declined because I no longer trusted the company. I then called another HVAC company for a second opinion. Within minutes, they discovered the real problem--the technician left one switch on my breaker off which is why the unit was on when he left but went off 15 minutes later. . They flipped it back on, and my AC worked normal again. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my capacitor nor was freon needed. This isn't my first bad experience with Service Experts. Two years ago, after another technician came out for a maintenance visit, my capacitor failed the very next day. A different HVAC company later showed me the burned capacitor that had been removed from my unit. Keep in mind that wasn't on the report. I told the Service Expert and the other company that came out to replace it that it's very ironic my capacitor went out the very next day. Looking back, I strongly believe my original capacitor was replaced during that visit. Based on my experiences, I no longer trust Service Experts. I cannot recommend a company that creates unnecessary problems and then tries to sell expensive repairs that aren't needed. I would encourage anyone considering their services to get a second opinion before approving any recommended repairs. Also stay away from the maintenance service plan because it's only a gimmick to upsell at the customers expense. They will call you for your service visit that you pay on a monthly installment only to find a way to get more money out of you at any cost!!!!

My first service was to repair a bad connection on my A/C unit back on 1/23/20. It shorted out my wires and these units were put in by HR Ferrell & Company a few years before we moved in. The warranty should've been honored but Dennis said since the homeowners changed that it wasn't honored but he would take care of me. He was very professional and knew what the problem was after some diagnostics. The job was completed in under an hr and he gave me a total around $350. He stated if I paid some more money that a routine cleaning can be done twice a yr with no other charges. So my total came out to $480. I was waiting on a receipt for the services and what I had paid for. He asked me to shoot him a text with my email. This was on 1/23/20. Did not receive anything for a few days and sent him another text on 1/30/20. He responded and said he would get me the ticket that day. Nothing. A few days go by and he texts me on 2/3/20 and said he would email me. Nothing. 6 weeks go by and this is 3/17/20 now and I texted him that I never received the receipt. He msgs back and says he will send it to me that day. Nothing. Another month goes by and Dennis all of a sudden texts me on 4/12/20 and asks for my email and that he forgot to hit the send button last time. I finally get the receipt on 4/12/20. He stated whenever I was ready to have the cleaning done to text him. So on 6/23/20 I asked for the service. He stated it would be next Mon, 6/29/20, which was fine. I msged him on 6/26 if he could come after 1pm on 6/29/20. He agreed it was fine (I gave you 3 days head notice to be courteous). Mon, 6/29/20 comes around and no phone call or anything. I called the local office with no answer and msged him on 7/1/20 to see if we should reschedule since he was a no call/no show for Monday. He msged back and said he will try to be here Fri 7/3. I asked him to please let me know if he could not make it on the day of to let me know also so that I can plan my day. He agreed. It is Monday night on 7/6/20 and no call/no show. I have already called someone else to service my hvac needs going fwd. If you are needing Reliable, On time service with the Do what you say and Say what you do motto, please stay away from HR Ferrell & Company.
