Holder Mine campground is located within the holder mine recreation area, in the citrus track of…read morethe Withlacoochee State Forest. Just 15 minutes south of Inverness, Florida. This is a perfect little campground that can be reserved via the reserve America website. There's an option for RVs or tent sites. Maximum number of people is eight. Amenities include a picnic table, fire ring, potable water, Electricity with a 50 amp outlet, and a bathroom that includes showers. While we did not bring our fur friend, this is a pet friendly campground. Check in time is 3 PM and check out time is 1 PM. We really enjoyed our stay. The view of Oak trees and open grassy area. It really is the simple little things in life sometimes. Once you reserve your spot, you will be given a code for the gate in your reservation email. There are many hiking and primitive camping options nearby in the Withlacoochee State Forest. I will definitely be back !

Managed by a dysfunctional (IMO) HOA board. The board president apparently doesn't think it…read morenecessary to treat campers with respect nor follow FL statutes. We were there for almost three months (Dec 2022 - Feb 2023). We were quiet and kept to ourselves. Three weeks before we were scheduled to leave, we were evicted without reason, no discussion, no written notice per FL statutes. We were told if we didn't leave by the end of day, the sheriff would be called. We are not drinkers or partiers; this type of treatment is totally foreign to us. After returning home we sent two separate letters requesting an explanation as to why we were evicted - both have been ignored. At least have the courage and decency to respond! Otherwise - PROS: Paved, shaded sites. Nice pool. Nice gatehouse workers. CONS: Close sites. Poor water pressure. Inadequate Internet service. Sewer lagoon next to campground often smells. Lots of barking dogs. Location is 20 minutes from most stores, restaurants, & gas stations. Owners seem to be cliquish and contentious when it comes to the board.

You'll see her working around the camp all day into the night, cleaning the showers and bathrooms, mowing lawn, doing the work of three men, emptying trash, asking how your stay is going. Oftentimes, as you drive up to the gate, Teresa will run out of her house with a big smile and offer to open the gate so you don't have to get out of the car. We we're sitting by the river one afternoon when Teresa was heading toward the church to clean and dust and mop. We asked her when the last time she's gotten into the river. To our surprise and dismay, she said it's been over 5 years. Teresa makes the camp what it is! I don't think we would keep coming back if she weren't here. She is a delightful lady. Our memorial day weekend was absolutely ruined because of this place and the disgusting lady who runs it named Stacy. Just look at the photos honestly, they just speak for themselves. They expected us to stay in a disgusting room that was definitely not up to par for health standards. There was literally dry blood on our mattress and box spring! Dry blood!! I don't even know what that device is on the box spring at the bottom, but are you kidding me?? We had our two dogs with us, and I was not going to subject them to this disgusting uncleanly room let alone myself and my husband! We immediately packed our bags once we noticed how disgusting it was and stayed at the Holiday Inn nearby way better way cleaner more money, of course and our entire weekend ruined because of this but at least we were SAFE. The lady was made aware of this and tried to beat around the bush. Even with the photos!! Eventually she said she apologized and would refund the money. Contacted her a week later or so only to find out she never sent the money back to us yet and then tried to say we were trying to stay a free night!! Ew!! No we weren't!
