I've never done anything with a drop ceiling before and mine is a tricky one... a previous installer having used both 2 x 2 sizes and 2 x 4 in the same space and with a ton of oddly shaped split panels. After Tiago came and gave me a quote for a small den, my autistic son insisted that I couldn't change the ceiling in "his" room... which is what necessitated Tiago's returning to remeasure for the different-sized project a second time. He was very patient. Then, I ordered the wrong kind of ceiling planks, which couldn't be mounted in the space, given how high my eaves were up under the drop ceiling. I then direct ordered a special drop ceiling tile that was apparently oddly sized. After he suggested I order from Home Depot or Lowe's, I got one that worked on the third try. His crew even installed my new light fixture and painted my gridwork-- which I hadn't anticipated requesting upfront, but which would have looked awful without his crew's intervention. He offered to come back a fifth time to apply a second coat of paint to the grid work... But I actually like how it looks slightly metallic as is...so the choice was mine to leave it. Regardless, I'm so happy with the end result and it totally changes the feel of the space...which is what I was going for. Throughout, Tiago had great communication and I totally trusted him and his crew...which is everything when doing renovations--good vibes! I had Tom come out to give me an estimate for a number of small jobs around the house that I needed to get done before putting the house up for sale...some painting, repairing a sticking door, replacing a towel rack that I tried to do myself and royally screwed up, replacing a small deck outside the back door and some patching and painting of drywall that had cracked. First, Tom showed up exactly on time for our appointment for the estimate - first very good sign since my experience with contractors/handymen is that they work on their own time. Tom was super nice and very friendly. He looked at all the work I needed done and took notes. We had a nice conversation and I immediately felt comfortable with having him in my home to do the work without me being there. When the estimate came in it was more than fair for the work to be done. I accepted his estimate and we set for him to start on Monday. Again, based on my past experience, I really didn't expect him to show on Monday, but he did and got a lot of the work done. I was so pleased when I got home and saw how much he had done and that he worked very cleanly. Tom came back on Tuesday to finish up and everything is perfect. The work is high quality and you can't even tell any work was done in the places he fixed/repaired. I could not be more pleased with the great job that Tom did and I would recommend him to anyone and will definitely call him again should I need any work done.

Steve at Mr. Handyman reached out right away and asked me to call him to discuss the details. I called Steve to explain a job I needed done involving an access door from my garage. He explained what he thought would be the best approach and that one of his employees would give me a better idea when he arrived for the quote. Steve explained the pricing, hourly rate, etc. and that his employee would give me a final quote before starting any work. Derek arrived on time for the appointment (I also got a text when he was on his way which was a nice touch). We went through all the details together, he explained what he would do and the estimated cost. I agreed and he got to work. He did an excellent job and the door looks great. I asked about a second project involving our swing set which he thankfully had time to include. Again, he went over all the details and estimates before proceeding. The work quality was again absolutely excellent. Derek cleaned up his work area completely. The final price came in exactly where expected, which I will also say I think is a fair price for the length of time he was here and the quality of the work performed. He asked me about any other needs I had and gave me some documentation regarding the most common jobs his company handles in case I need anything in the future. Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

When, in winter, i saw a problem with my gutters clogged/not draining, Kevin came over with his ladder, went up, removed the gutter guard, and cleaned out the down spout front and back of my house - for free...
