I only visited their old spot on Grand Ave once, but it seems like they've expanded their inventory (see pictures). This new location has so much natural daylight and a lovely seating area for classes or just to sit and work on a project. I'm allergic to animal-based fibers (I like to joke my skin is vegan), so I'm happy they have a good selection of cotton yarn, not just one or two! They don't just stop at yarn. They have materials and tools for felting, embroidery, kits of many sorts, gifts, etc. Service: the people here are super knowledgeable and helpful! From selecting materials to pattern help, they're happy to step in. It's great to have a place where the workers are ready to help when the internet falls short. Prices: what you'd expect from a small business. You're paying for quality though. Parking: free on street or free parking lot behind the businesses next door. Accessibility: for those with wheelchairs and mobility issues, there's a wheelchair-accessible entrance in the back of the shop accessible by the alley (better to drive your car back there).

The person at the counter helped me find the items and made recommendations. I was impressed. It was a bit expensive- $50 for the class supplies, but got a 10% discount since I am enrolled. We parked on the street in front of the store. They have a OneYarn cause that the store donates to organizations that support the LGBTQIA+ community, and I am in support of that.

I really want to love this store…read more They have gorgeous modern fabrics, a huge supply of canvas and bag making supplies and it's a great location. The problem is the owner. She is super negative. Complains about her staff, her competitors, other customers, and is often quite rude. I stoped shopping there when they were near Como... because of how rude she was to a friend I was with. Years later I found, and loved the new place. But the last 3 times I've gone in she's just been a cranky complainer. It's really unprofessional and quite unpleasant. So sad.

But every time I stop in to make a purchase the owner is so cranky and rude. She is not cheerful, does not particularly seem eager or happy to have your patronage and not at all personable. When in conversation with another customer, I mentioned that I recently retired after many years as a professional seamstress in the theater community and at The Minnesota Opera. The owner said loudly that she hated opera! Was that necessary? To hate what I did for ten years? She was extremely dismissive and went on to correct me in front of this other customer, which came off to me as highly arrogant, pretty hostile and demeaning.
