Their customer service is horrible! I ordered a book online. After one month it had not been shipped, but, I had been charged for it. So I called them to say that I was going to talk to my credit card company about the issue, as I wanted to preserve my right to not pay if I never received the order. The person I spoke to was rude. She also said I didn't understand how online ordering worked. Other customers had paid months ago and still not received their order. (I hardly saw this as a defense.) I explained that I did understand online ordering, having ordered from many needlepoint shops online over many years and had never had such a problem. She offered to cancel the order. Several times, I told her not to do that. But, after the call, I saw that she had cancelled the order. I would NEVER order from this store again!! read more

I have been working with this business & Susan owner a lot recently. She is incredibly helpful & her work meticulous. She is more than fair on prices & helpful in getting me anything I want/need. I had been working with other needlepoint stores mainly on the web. With Susan's help I feel no need to often shop stores-online or in person. My last 3 orders I asked fir specialty threads &'a stitch guide-having no teal idea of what a meticulous version contained. Susan has opened my eyes & I will progress in needlepoint beyond what I ever imagined. Thought I did this hobby. Found out I had no idea of the real craft. I highly recommend. read more

I purchased a needlepoint canvas, stitch guide, and threads from Susan, and everything arrived promptly in a very organized red folder. The threads are gorgeous and are perfect for the canvas, and the stitch guide appears to be well written with nice diagrams of the stitches. Susan was able to connect with The designer and kindly kept in touch with me throughout COVID shutdown. She even contacted me to offer a thread selection. What a pleasant and positive experience. I have visited this yarn shop over the years in its various locations , they have moved at least three times that I can remember but they always have a nicely organized shop. They specialize in needlepoint canvas and threads but also have quality yarn for knitters . I ran in this weekend, to replace a broken knitting interchangeable needle - they didn't have my brand but I did walk out with yarn for two projects - great sale going on this past weekend and who can pass up yarn on sale ? Their needlepoint canvas's are very varied , a lot of Judaica and many modern designs with a great array of thread , metallics too! plus the staff is very helpful in answering questions and making suggestions . Stop by for a visit you won't walk out empty handed. read more

Susan wrote me a lovely custom stitch guide for a canvas I had purchased elsewhere several years ago. The stitch guide was easy to follow, and well done, although I did modify it a bit to suit my needs. Overall, I was very pleased with the stitch guide. What upset me, however, is that Susan raised the prices of the threads I purchased from her. The guide was $25.00 (extremely reasonable) with the purchase of threads, and would have been $50.00 without the purchase of threads. I have a huge stash of threads, but I thought it was worthwhile to get the discount and buy threads from Susan; I also like supporting needlepoint shops. However, she charged me about 20% above retail for each skein; this was simply outrageous, especially since it says on the website that threads are "ALWAYS 15% off." Susan said the extra charge was for "pulling the threads." I have been to many needlepoint shops, and have not heard of this practice. All in all, I would recommend buying a guide from Susan, but would go elsewhere for the threads. read more

Yarn and needlepoint supplies. Yarn section is a little small due to sharing the space but still have some good stuff. Lots of fancier thread/floss for needle arts. Large selection of hand painted needlepoint canvases, though I don't do needlepoint personally so I can't comment on them beyond that. Owner is very nice. They apparently offer help and support through your entire project when you buy yarn there, and I believe she mentioned that all yarn purchases come with a free pattern. She's a bit talkative, but I admit I tend to be more anti-social than the average person, so that may just be a personal issue. Overall a great place, I'm sad my fiance is finishing up with school and will be leaving the area soon, since I'm not at all local and probably won't be visiting the area again once he moves. read more

This shop is not in Monticello anymore - they've moved just a few miles away to Bethel or White Lake. Call for actual address. Nice selection of knitting/crochet yarn and good-looking needlepoint canvases. Excellent and personable service with good attitude. Doesn't get much better than this. I don't know how the store is, although looking through the window, I think I would have liked it. After referring to their website and verifying their hours so that my 40 mile drive wouldn't be in vain, I drove up to there only to discover they are closed for the winter - open by appointment only. Shame on me for not calling but the ease at which you can update that information on a website these days, I didn't think to call. Now I may never know if it is a great store or not because I won't make another special trip just to check it out. read more
