When I first walked in I wasn't sure what was for sale and what was not. They had a table when you first walked in which what seemed as they may do lessons, or just gather together and crochet and knit together. Once I walked in everyone left. A gentleman was there keeping watch with his puppy and they had a giant cage in there and the entire time he was rude to his dog and it sort of made me sad. Walking past the front desk, there were massive piles of papers and yarn and stuff EVERYWHERE. There was maybe a small walkthrough of room to get anywhere in the store, and an extreme fire hazard. Yarn on the floor, yarn on the shelves.. and man, it was expensive. I just felt like I was not welcome. Don't recommend. read more

I really enjoy coming here to get advice and take a class. The owner will help with anything and any questions you have. She doesn't push a sale on you and let's you just roam. I will say, it is like being in your grandma's craft room and not a nice and neat Michael's, but I kindda like that. If you're not stuffy and don't expect super sweet but genuine help, this is the place for you. read more

Not the most friendly people. The guy took their puppy out and the older ladies got up and left while my daughter and I looked around. Didn't feel welcome there at all. I tried chatting when I walked in but they weren't about it. And the crap all over nothing displayed nicely and their filing behind counter was nothing more than a fire hazard. Won't be back. My Daughter and I happened on this store last summer. When I walked into this store, I was greeted by Betsy, the owner who was very friendly. I told her I wanted to learn to knit so we talked about the many options. I was so excited I wanted to start right away but I live here only part time. I set up an appointment for both my Daughter and myself. Our beginner lessons taught by Frenda had us knitting in no time. Katie has since knitted several baby blankets for her friends. I'm back after having a finger injury. Each and every time I walk in this store I am greeted with enthusiastic, friendly people, all enjoying some kind of needlework and each other's company. What a golden gem this place is. Betsy has put down her own project to help me correct a mistake and is always willing to advise and help!! She is so gracious! This is the place to be for both beginners and experienced and all in between. ...AND the selection of yarns and needlework is amazing! It is truly my happy place when I'm in Huntersville!!! I started knitting in January after a 40 year break. At Knit One, Stitch Two I obtained such helpful information from the owner in picking out yarn for my sweater project. Betsey was so gracious in helping me work through some errors I made along the way. Now that I am nearly done, I went back to obtain some more yarn for another project and had another encouraging adventure with helpful information about how to proceed. I enjoyed my experience at Knit One, Stitch Too, but I agree somewhat with the first review; the store is jumbled, untidy, and uncomfortable to be in. Their inventory is appreciable and decently organized, but you have to be able to overlook the clutter and mess in order to comfortably browse it. If they would take a week off and seriously clean up, it would be a much more attractive, welcoming place. At least there are no cats (I think). read more

This was, hands down, the worst experience I've ever had with a LYS. Since moving to NC, I was going to TranqWool in Salisbury (which I loved), but since she closed, I was forced to try another shop. I went into Knit One, Stitch Too right after New Year's looking for yarn for a blanket project. This was going to be a sizable project, and I was more than willing to buy all of my yarn through them. When I got to the store, it took a while for me to get the woman (who I assume was the owner) to talk to me about my project. I'm not sure if she couldn't be bothered or if she didn't think I was serious, but when she finally did start talking through it with me, she was really helpful. Eventually, I decided on a brand and colors, but she didn't have most of the colors in stock, so she offered to order them for me. She told me she was going to order them early the next week and as soon as they came in she'd give me a call. About a month passed, and I hadn't heard back from Knit One, Stitch Too about my order. I called to ask, but the woman who answered the phone never asked who she was speaking to or which order I was asking about, but said it could take anywhere from three weeks to THREE MONTHS to come in, but she'd check and call me back, but she never confirmed who she was talking to. Also, at no point in the ordering process did she ever tell me it could take up to three months to get yarn in. I've ordered yarn from stores in three different states and it has NEVER taken anywhere close to that long to get a yarn order in. So February passed, March passed, and now we've officially hit the three month mark without hearing a SINGLE WORD from them. Since, I've gotten two orders from an online yarn store. I'm a huge proponent of supporting local businesses, but this is DEFINITELY not the way to run a business and keep customers. read more

Betsy is so very helpful and patient - and I needed patience! I've completed several projects within the last year, and am taking a friend and granddaughter to start lessons.
