The job: install a doorbell chime box; route 3-4 small gauge wires for two doorbells the longest stretched 40'; install a doorbell transformer; and function-test everything. I provided everything with the exception of the chimebox. Kevin arrived early so that's due praise! I made it abundantly clear we had a newborn, started impact drilling with no warning and p&@sed my wife and I off and scared the s:(t out of our daughter. Function checked everything and it appeared to work. Flash forward a week my wife and I noticed that the doorbell (skybell) would go off when we walked into the house and the chimebox would stay engaged even when we didn't push the button. Occasionally this would keep engaging the motor on the box to where we noticed it started smelling like something burning. I know it's a low voltage system so no huge concerns other than a potential for a fire, so I turned off the breaker that was powering that chime. The only problem is that the same breaker just so happened to power our refrigerator, so had to reroute the cord to keep our familys' food from spoiling. It would've been nice if he had asked "hey what breaker would you like this system to be on" instead of assuming. I notified Kevin of the issue and was not returned called. After awhile I came to my own conclusions that when the system was on--that the wires were being pinched when stepping on the threshold entering our front door. I once again called Kevin and left a voicemail only to not be called back. Called again, and got him on the phone and made him aware of the situation and the fire hazard. I told him what I think may be occurring and he dismissed it and when I asked to get him back out I was ignored. Never did he take ownership of the problem and agree to fix for the almost 500$ we paid him. I eventually rerouted the wire causing the short and this resolved the problem. Thanks I got it! Now I see why people choose to do it their damn selves sometimes. read more

My boyfriend had a power shortage in his house last weekend. The company and number listed on the breaker box was "KNK Electric" with the phone number listed as 412-351-7577. Kevin took his information & said he would be at the house at 4pm. Not only did he NO show, he never answered when we called him TWICE Saturday. Then, he had the audacity to HANG UP on us when we called him today to ask why he never showed. He said "I don't even know you bro, find another electrician", and hung up. This is probably the least professional company I've ever come across. This was a terrible experience and he showed terrible professionalism and zero class. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DISAPPOINTED. Sounds like I'm not the only one with a terrible experience either..... read more

KNK was recommended. I placed a call on a Sunday and left a voicemail asking for a quote for a ceiling fan replacement. I never received a call back from the company. The following Thursday I called the company again. The gentleman that answer the phone seemed very annoyed. However, he scheduled me in for Monday April 24th at 8 a.m. It is currently 11:29 a.m. and KNK never called or showed. This is very unprofessional and I will not be contacting or recommending this company. read more

Kevin came out to give us an estimate. He quoted us a good price. He gave us his card and told us to contact him if we want to go with his company. I called him and told him we'd like for his company to do the work. He said okay and that he had to look at his schedule, and he would call me later that evening. Well, he didn't call. My wife called him the next day and he said I will call you tomorrow morning. HE NEVER DID! THIS WAS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! We have called other electricians since, and all of them have followed up with us. I'm glad KNK didn't follow up. If they do things like this, who knows how their work would be. STAY AWAY! They have great rates and good service. I had knk electric out to my place twice. Once, I had an emergency power outage during the dead of winter and my power was restored promptly at a good price. I also later needed to have an outdoor electrical outlet installed and it was done promptly and at a good price. I don't see any reason to call anyone else for electrical work. read more

Kevin and his aide, Brandon did a top notch job adding new electric lines, outlets, dryer outlets and separating the electric system of the 2 units in my apartment building. He also lined up the city inspector to come the very next day after the work was done. Needless to say, everything was approved on spot. Not only were they super fast and accurate, they also did their job with the least amount of damage in the sub-flooring possible (and no wall damage whatsoever) so it was a breeze to fix things afterwards. These guys are true professionals to say the least. As an added plus, I was looking for a handy-man for other work that needed done and Kevin was able to recommend his brother, Korey, whose work I was 100% happy with as well. Kevin, is seemingly mild mannered. I was a complete mess because I was moving and my electrician did not show. I scheduled on Amazon. I emailed Kevin at 3:30ish am and he replied at 7:00 am. He "squeezed" me in his schedule and I had my fan uninstalled and a new one put in --within hours after my email. I was moving and I needed it done that day. My husband and I have two additional projects we would like him to complete. I highly recommend him!!! He gave me a reasonable quote for other work that I was considering and was also honest about whether, and how soon, I needed to do it -- and he even suggested a lower-cost alternative.
